A wedding draws them close together at an exotic destination. A storm isolates them from the outside world. A murder puts everyone in danger. And one big lie threatens the foundation of the life Helen Eriksson believes she has. Time is not on Helen’s side as she reaches the moment where she must decide how to confront a dangerous enemy who has refused to stop stalking her.
Sygnet was a mastermind of schoolyard schemes as a child who grew into someone who channeled that inner criminal onto the pages of books. In the real world, the profession is nursing, psychiatric variety.
Devoted to family, friends and dogs in middle age, Sygnet spends most spare time plotting fiction, reading obsessively or playing with her four-legged children – the dogs.
Sygnet is a rabid NBA fan and loves the elliptical when the plot gets elusive. Nothing like endorphins to light the path. When endorphins fail, speed metal usually does the trick. Sygnet can often be found muttering over Pages on the iMac or the iPad, where most of the writing takes place.
I can’t believe the nerve of maya. Helen was a great friend to her and she turned her back on Helen. I really hoped that Helen wouldn’t run away from the investigation because of it.
I have been a fan of LS Sygnet since I read the first of the Eriksson books and Hindsight is as good as the all of the others. I don't know how any author maintains this quality of writing through 14 books, but Ms. Sygnet has what it takes.
Helen and her family and friends have traveled to celebrate the wedding of her brother Crevan and his love Alex when the hurricane that never hits Hawaii arrived to prove that nature does not play by rules. During the devastating storm a murder occurs at the resort and some of the Darkwater crew who have stayed for a vacation are pulled into the investigation. The darkness that has always haunted Helen's soul arises once more to complicate the situation
Another excellent story, one of three, in the Helen Eriksson series. The main characters attend a wedding which quickly turns askew as horrific weather and murders engulf the celebrations. Helen goes missing and there are many unanswered questions. This story is definitely 5 stars. Looking forward to reading her next story, TinkerBrain.
