Dear Author, This is me, causing trouble again. I don’t know what happened. One moment I was having a conversation with my roomie and the next thing I knew, the fountain exploded and I’m drenched in stink water. Ugh. Thanks to the hot summer day nobody seemed to mind that I had no idea how to get the water back under control. The thing is, I’m a witch and I suck at magic. I stopped using the little magic I knew since moving into the city about a year ago. Completely. It’s “fun” enough being gay, I didn’t want to be a witch too. I hate keeping secrets and the witchery thing was definitely supposed to be one. Not using my powers had me thinking I could be normal for a change. Tough luck. Since meeting “him” a few weeks ago, all shit went to hell. Every time he comes into the ice-cream shop I work at my magic goes crazy, doing the most embarrassing things! Nothing was meant to happen today! But then I saw him. My pistachio guy–tall, dark, and gorgeous. Always wearing a suit, always ordering pistachio ice-cream. And always giving me those secret smiles. His being around today definitely triggered my sucky magic to go haywire, and causing the fountain to put on a show. Thanks! My lack of witchery knowledge was starting to get me into deeper trouble than I’d ever expected was possible. But I had to find him and… then what?

This was quite an odd little story (and supposedly set in the same universe as Too Pretty from last year's event, which I didn't know about beforehand).
I really liked how this started off as Angels's active imagination sparks his magic into manifesting, causing all sorts of trouble for Mitchell.
At times, funny and very sexy - just be prepared to be bombarded with several new characters and plot twists that turn this story into something else than from where it started.
In a nutshell, this was basically a quirky romantic comedy with paranormal tendencies, peppered with hot fantasies coming true, plus a little spanking thrown in.
But if I'm being honest here, this story does take a bit of suspending belief. Abracadabra, secret government agents, and other supernatural beings aside.
You see, Professor Dr. Mitchell Anderson is a hot man lusting after sometimes student/ professional ice cream scooper/ unsuccessful witch, Angels. Angels Snowball Starshine has hippies for parents, and if I were him, changing my name would have been the first thing I did after branching out on my own. Seriously. And don't even get me started on the whole bag of crazy that is Mitchell's mother. A beer guzzling, super secret spy, who bugs her son's apartment? Yeah...
Twice a week, Mitchell wanders into the ice creamery to get his scoop of pistachio ice cream and oogle Angels in the window's reflection. Mitchell isn't the only one with a crush the size of Texas. Angels has all sorts of fantasies about Mitchell, and thanks to his wayward magic, they're starting to.. ahem... come true. Angels, who never displayed so much as a spark of magical ability, is now getting Mitchell into some odd, and to be honest, hilarious situations.
Angels has a very active imagination and I wondered a few times how Mitchell was the only one who seemed affected by it. Regardless, they're always sexual in nature, and as a result, some steamy moments will ensue.
In the end, Mitchell learns to go with the flow of life, Angels learns some control, and thankfully for the both of them, Angels' haywire magic still gets the better of them from time to time.
If you remove the secondary plot and side characters, what you're left with is something that is actually really fun. So that's what I'm going to do. I'm going to suggest to you, that when you read this story, just read it for Mitchell and Angels. They won't disappoint.
My thanks to the author for their participation in the Love is an Open Road event.
Cute story. I completely agree with Kristan's Review about the side story. It was fun seeing Angels fanatasys come to real life, but that's all there really was to the story. It was funny and had a sexy first time, but otherwise was kind of 'meh'.
There was some great humor, especially at the beginning, turning prayers into sex jokes. But the romance wasn't very well developed... they had crushes on each other and then started getting into fantasy situations. And the magic system wasn't sufficiently developed either.
Really interesting and opening up to a broader universe, and I definitely feel like a series could be written with all this material. The character development was rich and spot on. I loved Mitchell's personality and how his conflicts were given just as much importance as Angels' did. It was too bad that the ending felt rushed, as if the author just simply gave up on this after our main characters got together. This is odd, considering how potential this had. I hope one day we see more. Now it's time to read the story before this which is set in the same world. This author made the story really enjoyable so I will be looking for more of their works.
A light fun read - a nice dritC addition. Angels is a witch with no spells, until he starts fantasing about Mitchell - queue some funny antics. I did enjoy the first part of the story a lot - Angels fantasising getting mitchell in all sorts of trouble. It got a bit too busy with all the other other worldly beings in the middle who were introduced and disappeared quite quickly. However, I did enjoy it overall
This is a silly story about a witch finally coming into his powers after years of failure, only to find out that those powers are interwoven with his sexual fantasies. A simple and fun read :P
Angels is a witch. A witch that never came into his powers, so when he reaches his twenties and still hasn’t came into them, he leaves his people to move to live with the (normal) humans.
Things are going pretty good for him until he sees Mitchell. Mitchell comes in like clockwork for his favorite ice cream at the shop Angels works in but neither of them make a move. Mitchell because of the age gap and fear Angels is a student(maybe one of his) at the local college he teaches at and Angels because he feels out of league.
Then things start to happen. Whenever Angels starts to fantasy about Mitchell things change/happen. The water fountain explodes, Mitchell’s undergarments magically change, etc. After an incident the two of the finally make contact and start talking and the sparks fly between them.
Throw in Mitchell’s mother who is aware that more than just humans exist and some other uncanny things going down, and Angels has to figure out what his happening to him and around town.
Angels finds others who aren’t human who are living amongst the humans.
Brilliantly imaginative! I loved Angels and Mitchell. The costumes, man panties and the creative use of magic had me smiling. The dash of kink and saucy brat pushed it over the top.
This is a fun but very silly story about a witch with unpredictable powers and a professor with a spy for a mom. There were also a few vampires and other supernaturals. The story contained a few kinks that were not to my taste (spanking, women's underwear), but it was inoffensive.
Angels voice is hilarious! I loved the situations his magic got him into and his relationship with Mitchel. I was glad to see from the listing on Goodreads that I can look forward to a series set in this world. Great fun!
