I need book three today after that ending. What a story! There are so many emotions with this book and things with the trio have gotten even messier. We pick up from the aftermath of book one and the bleak future that awaits Ry as his brother Woods and Veronica try to rebuild their lives.
The POVs for our three main characters really helps to build onto the complex emotions and relationships these characters have with each other. How dependency changes and blossoms into something more, and how the line of survival and selfishness can blur into each other. The writing has stayed fresh and I honestly can’t predict what’s to come for everyone. The connection I feel to these characters is strong as the author peels back each characters thoughts and motivations. I can’t get enough.
Gracie has outdone herself and made me feel things I didn’t know were possible to be felt by reading a book. I lived through this like I was there. Apparently so much so that my husband kept asking me what was wrong with me and why did I have that look on my face. If you haven’t read book 1 stop here, and race to grab it so you can start your own emotional roller coaster.
“Some wounds never heal. They just scar over and wait. And some people don’t leave your life untouched; they rewrite it.” Woods, Veronica and Ryder’s life are so intertwined, with lies, secrets and big emotions that the unraveling of their story grips your heart. Looking forward to the last book because this one leaves you shattered. Great.
