Long before recorded history, six young men live in the wilderness. Food is scarce, their shelter leaks, and winter is approaching.
Sarn catches a rabbit. Tir makes a remark. They fight.
Later, a deer remains standing after its throat is cut. A beautiful stranger sits naked among the rocks. Something in the mud begins to make a hand.
None of this improves their circumstances.
Told in deliberately spare prose and accompanied by stark black-and-white illustrations, Sarn is a strange tale of hunger, quarrels, cold, bodily warmth, desire, and encounters that refuse to explain themselves.
There are no heroes, no prophecies, and no grand quest.
