I’m still reeling, cos Nina just grabbed me by my throat and rammed me into this one without a single care in the world…rude!

Getting to know Lyam in Chasing Obsession, of course I needed his story 🤭 He’s like a lost boy, feeling alone and always left behind until he meets Riven and their connection is instant, their love a bond held forever and when they come together (pun intended) it’s an art form that can’t be argued with. Throw Mia into the mix and their threesome is something all of us would love to be a part of 😉 Lyam’s banter at times makes you scoff, unlike the effect it has on Damien…yes, he makes his presence known in this book and no less exasperated with Lyam. It’s not all sunshine and flowers though, no, we know due to Lyam’s antics he’s going to get himself into trouble with his poker techniques and he certainly does but will he come out the other side unscathed???

𝙍𝙪𝙞𝙣 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙤 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙩𝙮.

Nina has done it again with this story, it’s a book you don’t want to put down, she entices you in giving you the romantic connections you didn’t know you needed, the angst of playing on the edge, and then if she doesn’t just rip the whole damn rug from under your feet without a care that it affects your balance! The emotions you feel reading this one are so numerous, I haven’t the ability to even explain them; suffice to say if you enjoy MM, MMF spice, teetering on the edge, a modicum of violence, 🤯 and a secret society then this book is for you. Looking forward to the next one 🫶🏻

“You have to promise you’ll live for me. Even if it hurts. Even if it kills you in pieces.” I close my eyes, trembling, and let the words fall out the way I never let them before. “Because I love you so much, it terrifies me. And if this world takes me… I want it to know it didn’t get both of us.”

Y’all I am UNWELL! It took me a minute to write this review because I didn’t know how to form words. I didn’t know how to talk about Lyam and Riven. I didn’t know if k could without sobbing.
I’ve read quite a few MM romances but this one…this one is in my tops. Lyam is the perfect funny sarcastic adhd coded character. And Riven is the broody black cat that keeps him in line…kind of? 😅

Their banter. Which tbh if you’ve read Nina you know that banter is gonna be on point 💅 she just is that ✨queen✨

But their banger was amazing. I got some answers on how we got here for Chasing Obsession. And I felt like Damien from CO was my fav and I still love him. But Lyam stole my heart. And I don’t think I’ll ever recover.

Definitely 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ probably infinite if I’m honest. And also the spice was chefs kiss 🥵

Oke first of all this boooook🥹😍
The spice is a 10/10🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

When I was reading Chasing Obsession I really hated Lyam he was my villain in the book. So when Nina told me there was coming a book about Lyam I was like, goood lord help me. BUT LET ME TELL YOU THIS BOOOOK! It made me fall in love with Lyam! He is the sweetest most pure person. The loyalty this men has it’s unbelievable.

The way Nina wrote about these characters made me feel like I got to know them personally and because of that some parts of the book really damn hurt.

Also I still claim Damien as my bookhusband 😏😏

Absolutely addictive from beginning to end!

After reading Chasing Obsession I had to read this book.

Lyam completely stole my heart while simultaneously breaking it into a thousand pieces. This isn’t a story about healing or redemption—it’s about surviving the darkness when the damage has already been done, and it delivers that in the most raw, gripping way possible. In chasing obsession I hated Lyam but this book, seeing his back story wow.

The emotional depth, the tension, and Lyam’s unapologetically unhinged personality made him impossible to look away from. Every chapter pulled me deeper into his fractured world, and I couldn’t put it down. The Nina masterfully balances heartbreak, obsession, and danger, creating a character who is beautifully broken and unforgettable.

If you love your dark romance morally gray, emotionally devastating, and packed with angst, this book is a must-read. Be sure to start with Chasing Obsession to fully appreciate the Cursed Venom Universe.

An easy five stars—dark, intense, and utterly unforgettable.

Devoured this read with no remorse. This book is unapologetically dark with enough tension you could cut it with a knife. I would highly recommend you read chasing obsession before starting this beauty. The backstory of Lyam was everything and more adding the perfect amount of depth for this series and so vividly written you'll be immersed in this read in no time. If you love dark romance and I mean border line leaning on black with spice scenes that'll have you sweating in middle of winter ❤️‍🔥 with an emotional roller-coaster that won't let you off until the last page is turned then this is the read for you. Highly Recommend!

I absolutely loved Lyam’s romantic, chaotic, & tragic story. When I read Chasing Obsession, I was on the fence about Lyam. After reading his book, I have a whole different outlook. I just want to give him a big hug because phew! Dude just can’t catch a break. I sobbed, I laughed, I giggled, I blushed. This book gave me all the feels. & the spice was truly SPICY. I loved it from start to finish. I absolutely wish I had more pages to read!!!

This was my first book in the Cursed Venom Universe and it left me completely eager to read more.

Lyam is undoubtedly a challenging character. Crazy, funny and constantly putting himself in risky situations... I laughed out loud with him so many times. But despite everything, he had something in his life that made it all worth it: his friendship with Damien and Kage and Rivens's love.

This book pushes us to the extremes... one moment you're laughing and the next you're wiping away tears. Reading this hurts but we all know that life isn't always made of happily ever afters...

One thing is for sure: after everything Lyam went through, I will defend whatever he does from now on.

Thank you, Nina, for the opportunity to read this ARC and for writing such raw, wonderful characters!

💙🖤 The Devil's Deck 🖤💙

I knew that this would be an emotional experience. Cause Nina doesn't care how hurt you will end up or how much her readers love the unhinged, uncontrollable MC. She loves to break her readers heart and I love her enormously because of that.
Nina puts the D in dark and she is now one of my favourite authors in Dark romance.
Who am I kidding, she is a favourite.

I didn't read the first edition and I have not read Chasing Obsession (I know, I'm a bad girl), BUT I have it so don't judge me to hard. I love Lyam and I love this book so hard. I got stuck from the beginning, Lyam is that reckless, hilarious, super f...ing hot MC you can't hate. He is ffs CUTE! And he gets even funnier because Damien is not at all like Lyam, he's his babysitter.

I have read so many books which have included MM, I'm obsessed with reverse harem, but I have never read a book that is focused on MM only (besides a few MMF scenes) but shit my loves. I loved it, it's so hot. So now I will never doubt to read a book with only MM. And these two were the perfect combo. Their rant and sarcastic tone between eachother, intertwined with so much love and care. They had me at the get go. They were so secure with eachother and I never had to pick a side because of a fight or something. They even were so secure and trusted eachother so they could let another person be a part of their sex life. The freakout they got when they started questioning their sexuality was hilarious.

Nina knows how to make the story into a rollercoaster, with twists and turns that puts your world upside down. You are never safe, you should never relax cause KABOOM, shit just slams down on you and you start to cry like a baby, next second you laugh just as psycho as Lyam. And then the f...ing smut comes and you get all excited and shit. It starts to tingle everywhere and SLAM, you almost die.

I can't recommend this book enough, if you have no issues with all the crazy triggers that the book has. But you have to read the triggers if you know you have limits. Your mental health matters and it's not something you should take lightly. Cause believe me, this is a book with a huge nasty menu.

Thank you Nina for being such a fearless woman and author. For being the way you are, you are crazy, you say what you think, gives zero f...k. I hope you know how you inspire and how much you mean for a lot of us women who follows and loves you.

Buuuut... you really messed me up!! 🖤💀

Having previously met Lyam in Chasing Obsession, I was incredibly excited to get his story, and boy it did not disappoint. Lyam is a wiseass and it was so entertaining. He's funny, intelligent, doesn't seem to take much seriously, and yet beneath that carefree exterior is someone capable of incredible loyalty and devotion.
I absolutely lived for the relationship between Lyam and Riven. Their chemistry was off the charts from beginning to end. Riven balances Lyam perfectly, grounding him while still carrying a darkness of his own that we only get glimpses of throughout the story. Together, they create a dynamic that feels both intense and natural. The emotional depth beneath all that chemistry was just 🥵
Riven isn't just the man he loves; he's the person who stayed. The one person who truly understands him. Some of the most memorable moments in the book come when Lyam's usual jokester persona falls away and we're given an unfiltered look at just how deeply he cares. It was such a beautiful expression of unconditional love that it made me cry.
I was also thrilled every time a certain MC made an appearance. I’d loved him in Chasing Obsession, so I was already excited when he showed up in another book. Seeing him pop in and out throughout this story felt like a reward for readers who've been following the series from the beginning, and every appearance had me smiling.
There is one lingering question that I was hoping would be answered, and while I didn't get the resolution I wanted, it didn't lessen my enjoyment of the book. For now, I’m hoping it’s intentional rather than a “deal with it” situation. It also adds to the anticipation as to where the series is headed. That said, if it never gets addressed in future books, I would definitely be disappointed (hint hint Nina)!
Overall, The Devil's Deck gave me everything I wanted from Lyam's story: a deeper understanding of who he is, a beautiful and emotional romance with Riven, and enough unanswered questions to leave me eagerly waiting for what's next. If you were intrigued by Lyam in Chasing Obsession, prepare to love him here. He is funny, lethal, fiercely intelligent, and beneath all the sarcasm, he loves with his whole heart.

I genuinely don't know how Lyam managed to make me say "WTF?", "WTH?" and "OMG, Lyam!" quite so many times in the 24 hours it took me to devour The Devil's Deck, but here we are.

This book put my heart through the wringer. The emotional punches landed hard, and there were multiple moments that left me completely heartbroken. Yet at the centre of all the chaos, violence and madness was something unexpectedly beautiful: the love between Lyam and Riven. Their connection felt genuine, unwavering and deeply emotional, even when everything around them was spiralling out of control.

And then there's Damien. From the very beginning, his protectiveness towards Lyam had me hooked. Whether Lyam deserved saving at any given moment is honestly debatable because this man is a walking disaster. Frustrating? Absolutely. Dangerous? Without question. Chaotic? Constantly. But he's also so completely, undeniably smitten by Riven that I couldn't help but adore him.

The tension throughout this book was relentless. I spent most of my reading time with my heart in my mouth, terrified about what Nina Knox was going to do next. And that ending? I don't think I breathed properly for the entire final stretch.

I also loved the brief glimpse into the early part of Kage's life. It added an extra layer of depth that longtime readers will definitely appreciate.

A word of advice: read Chasing Obsession first. And if you're sensitive to violence, dark themes or explicit spice, pay close attention to the trigger warnings.

But if you're anything like me and enjoy your MM romance dark, spicy, emotionally devastating and packed with banter, you'll absolutely smash through this book.

At this point I've loved everything I've read by Nina Knox, and honestly? If she wrote an instruction manual, I'd probably read that too.

An unforgettable, chaotic, emotional five-star read that completely consumed me. ❤️📖🔥

"I'm Lyam Valros and I've got more issues than brain cells". Me too Lyam, me too.

After reading "Chasing Obsession" I never thought I'd say this but... Do I like Lyam? I don't think I will ever look at Lyam Valros the same way again.

This book is absolutely no joke. I have laughed at Lyam being held together by spite and medical tape. I have cried. I have sat there with my mouth wide open in shock. Then it took me almost 24 full hours before I could dive back in to write a review about how Lyam's story ruined my life. It has been a whirlwind of emotions that neither I or my therapist were prepared for. Ladies and Gentlemen we have emotional damage.

Riven and Lyam are two halves of one whole and we are presented with a beautiful and real relationship, flaws and all. Lyam is cheeky, reckless and doesnt know when to stop pushing-a far cry from his cold, detached, unfeeling, murderous vibes from "Chasing Obsession". Through it all, and despite his imperfections, Riven is his anchor, and when that anchor slips we watch Lyam embrace his darker side and unleash his ability to burn the world down. It is heartbreaking to watch him spiral as he tries to feel something, anything.

The spice. I am still clutching my pearls in one hand and fanning myself with the other- the spice content is unhinged, raw and off the charts.

Nina has created a character who is dark, witty, damaged and has a truly heartbreaking backstory which we glimpses of in the conversations he has with his mother. He's chaotic, fucked up and I'm in love.

To steal Nina's own words this book is "beautiful in the most broken, human way possible".

Emotional, fierce, pivotal

"Life is not fair. I just want to have fun with my friends. I just want to be a kid and enjoy all the small things, but unfortunately something tells me that my destiny is far from close to what I really want."

Lyam is in survival mode, his past shattered him into a million pieces. Only to make him the man he is today, unstoppable, piercingly ice cold and unforgiving. What damage is done can not be forgotten or erased, but can it? Easier said than done. "But me? I'm all limbs and bad decisions. A small, skinny little prick."

This book was haunting, addictive and indescribable. Lyams story hooks you in from Chapter 1 bringing you on a roller coaster ride of every single emotion that you can endure in a lifetime. The spice intertwined was ferocious, steamy and sizzling! The tragedies that Lyam faced made my heart sink deeply as he couldn't catch a break, suffocating with loss and grief. Lyam went from a kind loving energized person to a darkened soul that's unable to find the peace within, carrying pent up anger and pain.

This book was everything and I couldn't stop reading, nor could I get enough! It hit differently, giving a bigger perspective on Lyam, both past and present. Sometimes the poker hand that's given to you, is either a chance of winning it all or walking away with nothing. These decisions can either make or break you depending on the hand you play or the one you end up folding.

I went I to this read with high expectations after reading Amara and it truly did not disappoint.

I don't know if Nina reads my mind, shares my vision of the perfect red flag, or is just amazing at making her red flags irresistible. BUT Lyam, the MMC red flag, is pretty much the red flag you'd still pick in person. Absolute bad decision, but he owns it and his smart mouth and constant sarcasm in all the wrong moments make him impossibly entertaining. Does he pick all the wrong (perfect ) times to open his mouth? Yes. Does he make you want to smack some sense into him? Also yes. But Does he do all of it in a impossibly addicting way? Absolutely!! I'm positive there wasn't a single character in this story that was not a walking red flag- Lyam and Riven, Damien and Kage, Mia and even Ash... All impossible not to like. I don't know how Lyam made it through this book without his mouth becoming the cause of his death but I loved every sarcastic moment.

Nina did an amazing job of giving all the characters depth, keeping me engaged throughout the entire story... Crushing my heart, and (mostly) healing it again by the end.

If your version of a good read is dark romance and morally gray characters and you're looking for a book FULL of questionable decisions, smoking red flags, strong relationships between the characters and never ending banter- this is the one for you.

Oh... And spice- You'd better come prepared for that too! TONS of MM and MMF scenes playing out in the midst of all the chaos, bad decisions and trauma.

The Devil’s Deck is raw, relentless, and unapologetically dark. You know this isn’t going to be a neat redemption arc or a love story with soft edges. This is a descent, a study in survival when all that’s left is wreckage.

Lyam is not your typical antihero—he’s colder, calculated, and intentionally hard to love. But that’s what makes him captivating. His trauma isn’t romanticized; it’s visceral. Nina doesn’t flinch when it comes to portraying pain and the kind of damage that doesn’t magically heal. She leans into it, and it pays off.

The writing is sharp and atmospheric. There’s a constant tension—between Lyam and the world, between his past and his present, and within himself. It’s not about redemption, and that’s what makes it more honest. You don’t root for Lyam to be “fixed.” You root for him to survive, even when he doesn’t want to.

That said, The Devil’s Deck isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s heavy, both emotionally and thematically, and it demands that you sit with discomfort. But if you appreciate complex, morally gray characters and stories that don’t hand out easy answers, this book delivers.

Definitely read Chasing Obsession first—it sets the tone for the universe and gives you a richer understanding of the relationships and lore. But The Devil’s Deck stands strong on its own and might even be the most emotionally brutal (and rewarding) entry in the Cursed Venom Universe so far.

ARC REVIEW

This is the second edition following on from its first edition release in 2025.

I was new to TDD, having never read the first edition. I have no idea how I haven’t discovered Nina Knox before this summer. Absolutely baffled!

The Devil’s Deck is PERFECT. It has everything you want and need. Love, family, loyalty, smut and action; all of which makes you question your sanity in the best way possible. I was pulled so deep into these characters’ lives, these boys who you just want to wrap your arms around. Lyam is at the centre of all of this, our MMC.

Lyam has a fierce love for his friends and is not afraid to show this. It’s part of what made me have a fierce love for Lyam myself, and I found myself protective of this character throughout the book. Hurt my boy? Off with your head, heathen!

I picked out so many quotes that I just had to share, but have behaved and selected a few that I’m sure will make you want to read 🖤

“I’M HELD TOGETHER BY SPITE AND MEDICAL TAPE.”

“Bloodstained and ruined, just how I like my emotional stability.”

“…Are you here to kill me?” I croak, voice rough like gravel and regret. “If so, please make it quick. And maybe sexy.”

Expect emotional damage from this, you will laugh and cry, at the same time in some places! Check out Nina’s other works, I would recommend you read this after Chasing Obsession.

Now run along and be a good girl. Lyam, Damien, Riven and Kage are waiting for you 😏

All I have to say is Ohhhhh my Gawwwdddddd! Ninnaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!! I’m glad that I took my time cherishing this read, cuz IMO it deserved my undivided attention from start to finish. This is my second read from this brilliant author. I thought Chasing Obession was amazing but she out-did herself by diving into Lyam’s past/his backstory. From him being a background MMC from Chasing to him being the MMC in Devil’s Deck. Wow the character development and the plot twists in this read were phenomenal. Now I see why he is the way he is in Chasing Obession. His attitude and demeanor was quite literally drilled into him. Also this is my first MM read and gawd I’m glad it was my first. What better way to pop my cherry than to read it from my fav author. I loved the connection between Lyam & Riven from start to finish, it all started with a game of cards. They are each other’s match. The spicy scenes had me gripping my kindle the entire time. Girl everytime I read anything you write it’s like watching a movie and like I can drop into the scene and visualize it. Your reading style is utterly amazing. Keep doing what you’re doing, I see greatness!!! I can’t wait to see what your future holds and can’t wait to see you succeed.

"You're not immortal Lyam. You're just dumb".
Lyam - just WOW, his life is a wild and crazy ride. He's not a nice guy by any sense of the word. But the loss this man has been through will break your heart into tiny pieces.
We meet Lyam when he's just 17 and one of his best friends, Kage, has disappeared off the face of the earth. His other friend Damien is about to leave for a "Camp". The less said about his parents the better.
Lyam rediscovers a talent for Poker, and he discovers Riven who is the love of his life.
Riven and Lyam have such a beautiful love story. The spice and the emotions between them are off the charts.
But Lyam's life continues to be plagued with loss. And those losses continue to shape him into a man who is far different than the 17 year old Lyam at the start of the book.
Nina writes some wild and crazy stories, but she draws you in until you just can't stop reading. Lyam's life is like that. The things this man goes through and the way he handles them are incredible. I found myself laughing at Lyam's snark and arrogance, and crying with him at the losses in his life.
You won't regret this one. Of course, read your trigger warnings. it is a dark romance.

I recieved an ARC from the Author & this is my honest review, also my review contains spoilers:

Okay it's offical Lyam is my current favourite of this series & I am BROKEN!!!!!

I felt so many emotions reading Lyam's life, everything he goes through, how he turns really deep moments into humorous conversations & shows how just one moment can totally destroy your whole world x

Having lost my mum back in Sept 2022 I lost myself in myself - become a shell of the person she had raised & went into autopilot - so I get home Lyam loses himself in rough, intense, unhinged sexual encounters & decided to join Damien in his work x

I have faith that Cristina can bring Lyam a redemption arc & allow him to return to the boy turned man we meet at the start of The Devils Deck - i hope Lyam see the error of Kage's way & takes a step back from that- Lyam just wants to be loved he has lost too much & due to this i think he sees the good in people even when that person is a lost cause x

I just want to hug Lyam & let him know he is alright things can get better - I'm just worried he would RUIN me & not in the best way 😉😉 xxxxxx

Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️

This is technically a standalone but there are appearances from other characters in the universe and you'd have no issues following the story

If you like your dark romance with a side of unexpected turns, this one starts with MM, delivers a bi-discovery, and evolves into a (mostly) full-on MMF dynamic! I’m not usually a huge MM reader, but the transition here worked. And not going to lie... once the female character entered the mix, the spice level completely skyrocketed!

The banter in this book is absolute gold. Lyam is funny as hell, a total goofball. But seeing how his playful carefree nature ultimately leads to his tragedy was completely heartbreaking. It really validates and explains exactly who he has become today.

My only real complaint is that, being a standalone, I wish we got to see more of his actual training process and his psychological struggle. Instead of a quick fast-forward into him already being a professional unaliver, diving deeper into that transition period would have been amazing.

If you love a mix of laugh-out-loud banter, deep character trauma, and a scorching MMF dynamic, definitely add this to your TBR!

Well… that was gloriously unhinged.

Nina Knox is one of the very few authors I’ve read who actually commits to writing dark romance. Not “dark with a few red flags.” Not “dark until it’s uncomfortable.” I mean dark. She doesn’t soften the edges or try to make you feel safe and honestly? I love her for it.

Lyam completely wrecked me. He’s chaotic, damaged, frustrating, and somehow I still couldn’t stop rooting for him. He’s not your typical book boyfriend, and that’s exactly why he works. The emotional damage? Immaculate.

The tension is relentless, the chemistry is toxic in the most entertaining way possible, and every time I thought I knew where the story was heading… I was wrong.

What I admire most is that the author never backs down. She trusts her readers to handle the darkness instead of diluting it, and that confidence makes this book stand out in a genre where so many stories claim to be dark but end up playing it safe.

This book isn’t here to comfort you. It’s here to ruin your sleep, your emotions, and probably your standards.

And somehow… I can’t wait for more.

The Devil’s Deck — Nina Knox 🖤🃏
ARC Review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Nina Knox, MA’AM… the sarcasm, the spice, and then the emotional damage?! I have a weakness for a smart mouth and a damaged man, and Lyam delivers both. 😮‍💨

Getting his backstory adds so much weight to the chaos. Beneath the reckless choices and sharp humor is someone desperate for connection, and understanding what shaped him makes his darker moments hit differently.

And Riven? SIR. 🥵 Their chemistry brings the heat, but the affection underneath it gives their relationship its pull. Give me banter that makes me grin, then show me why these men matter to each other—that’s how you get me invested.

With dangerous games, secrets, and choices that carry real consequences, this story has plenty to keep the tension climbing. But Lyam’s unraveling is what makes it memorable. I came for the darkness and morally questionable behavior; apparently, my feelings were also invited as collateral! 👀🖤

Check the trigger warnings, besties. This one has teeth. 🖤

Babes, buckle up and get ready to have your heart thrown in a blender. I mean, as if you would expect anything else from Nina Knox 🤷🏼‍♀️

First off, if you haven’t read Chasing Obsession from Nina’s Cursed Venom Universe you need to start there. It’s on KU so no excuses! Second, this is the amazing, updated 2nd edition of The Devil’s Deck and baby did it get a glow-up! 😍

I absolutely crushed this book because it’s that damn good. I knew I liked Lyam in Chasing Obsession (the walking, talking red flag 🚩 that he is) but I came out of this one with a whole new outlook on him…and definitely more emotional damage and trauma.

We finally get a peek behind the curtain of who Lyam really is and what makes him tick (spoiler alert 🚨 the answer is Riven!) but we also get to see sides of him that you didn’t know existed. And baby, he’s one messed-up dude. But in the most wickedly delicious ways! 😈

I loved that for a second, Lyam almost seemed to have it all but the guy literally can’t stop himself from making epically bad decisions. And with a heavy price.

This one is gonna run you through the wringer - I expect it coming from Nina but man, this one did a number on me. And I absolutely loved every freaking second it. This might be my favorite Nina book to date!

🚩Come meet your next favorite walking red flag obsession and leave with more emotional damage and trauma than you can shake a stick at - you won’t regret it! 🚩

GIRLLLL, WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN WITH THIS BOOK??? 😭🖤

Lyam is such a cool, lovable character in the beginning! His banter, sense of humour, and those comebacks are EPICCCC 😂🤌🏻 His meet-cute with Riven??? EVERYTHINGGG!! And their dynamic is just chef’s kiss. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!! 🫠🖤 Riven is literally the only one who can keep this man in check, and I LIVE for it. And then there’s Lyam and Damien’s bond. The brotherhood, the friendship, the depth of their relationship… it’s so heartwarming, and I absolutely adore them🥹 BUT THEN CHAPTER TWO HAPPENED. GIRL. WHAT WAS THAT???💀😭
Hats off to Nina because she REALLY knows how to throw in twists and turns that nobody sees coming. The rollercoaster of emotions after that??? I cried. I WAS IN SHOCK. I genuinely wasn’t prepared for what came next. And the way Lyam’s darker side slowly unfolds and is unleashed??? 🫠🖤 THE SWITCH-UP!! I was not ready to see this side of him, and Nina had me questioning EVERYTHING. This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster, and I’m still trying to process everything😭😭

I bloody LOVE Lyam!

I have never highlighted so many lines in a book purely because they made me laugh. His commentary was brilliant in Chasing Obsession, but actually seeing how he became the person he is? Even better. I was here for every second of it.

But Nina... HOW COULD YOU?! How could you do that?! I still don't feel like it's real. I'm with Lyam on this one. I genuinely did NOT see that coming.

I will say, I wasn't entirely sure how Lyam humiliating this guy escalated to that, but did I really care? No. Not even a little bit.

The writing, as always, was so easy to follow, and the spice was hella spicy and absolutely delicious. 🔥

I also loved getting more of Damien. He was my favourite in Chasing Obsession, so getting more of his backstory, particularly his childhood, was such a bonus.

Honestly, such a fun, dark little read. There's no huge, complicated plot here, but there is some brilliant backstory, character development, laugh-out-loud commentary and a whole lot of spice.

Nina, I'm still not over it.

This book absolutely pulled at my fucking heartstrings. 😭 because what do you mean after everything, that happened? Ughhh. I devoured this book in one sitting, I was absolutely hooooked.

The story between Lyam and Riven, although unhinged, it was absolutely beautiful the way they loved each other was unmatched. Possession at its finest and the sweetest thing ever. When Mia came into the mix, I thought it was going to change everything but it all seemed to work out pretty well.
Damien, aka batman, tough guy but sweet in his own way.
I honestly didn't know how this was all going to play out but I really felt for Lyam. I felt all the emotions that went through him and I couldn't help but to root for him towards the end, hoping that things would get better for him.

I definitely recommend this book if you like:
