Yarmouth is a town of stories. The very language we speak around here has the ring of poetry to it.
Tales are told around kitchen tables and around campfires, on the open sea and on working wharves. Sometimes, stories wash up with the tide or appear out of the fog like ghosts. Some of them are true. Some are pure fiction. This anthology is an attempt to capture some of the poetry, lived stories, and imaginings of this place.
TIDELINES brings together the work of 35 authors from all walks of life, ranging from celebrated poets who have won major prizes to young writers being published here for the first time. Some contributors were born and raised in Yarmouth, others are come-from-aways who have chosen to make Yarmouth their home. Still others live far from Nova Scotia but still draw from their Yarmouth roots.
TIDELINES presents writing inspired by life on the coast, nature and the changing seasons, community and relationships, grief and loss, and hauntings and imagined futures.
