This is an autobiography of a young African American kid growing up in a small economically impoverished area in Atlanta, Texas. The book starts around the age of 18, and tells the story up until the age of 30. This story includes losing a scholarship from a big university, a racially motivated arson, and the lost of loved ones. The writer gives an in-depth view of how this effect his life.
