BECAUSE SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO FIGHT FIRE WITH HELLFIRE, THERE’S CAINE DEATHWALKER, RAISED AS A DEMON, ARMED LIKE A GUN MERCHANT, AND FUELED BY BOOZE. NICE IS A DIRTY WORD AND KILLING IS WHAT HE DOES BEST. MAKE A CONTRACT WITH HELL, AND HE COULD BE ON YOUR SIDE—GOD HELP YOU.
IN SILVER CROWN KING: CAINE’S CORONATION DATE AS A LORD OF FAIRY IS FAST APPROACHING. AS A DEMON LORD, HIS WELCOME HAS BEEN ICY. THE FEY GENTRY ARE CHOOSING SIDES. SOME SUPPORT HIM. OTHERS WANT HIM VERY DEAD. THERE IS NO LACK OF ASSASSINS AMBUSHING HIM EVERYWHERE HE TURNS, BOTH IN L.A. AND UNDER-THE-HILL.
THOSE HE DEPENDS UPON HAVE ISSUES OF THEIR OWN: THE OLD MAN IS RETIRING AND GETTING MARRIED—UNLESS HIS BRIDE KILLS HIM FIRST. CAINE’S LAWYER HAS BEEN SAVAGELY ASSAULTED AND ISN’T DEALING WELL WITH HER NEW RESPONSIBILITIES AS ALPHA TO THE LOCAL WEREWOLF PACK. HIS ENEMIES ARE EVEN USING MAGIC TO MESS WITH HIM IN HIS NIGHTMARES. ARMIES ARE GATHERING TO TAKE HIM DOWN, AND ALL THAT HIS SOUL MATE SELENE WANTS TO DO IS CHAIN HIM NAKED TO HER BED. WORST OF ALL, ONE OF HIS ENEMIES TURNS OUT TO BE A FEMALE VERSION OF HIM, AND SHE’S JUST AS HARD TO KILL.
FORTUNATELY FOR CAINE, DEEP ANIMAL CUNNING AND SOUL-SEARING VIOLENCE IS HIS BEST WAY OUT.
Born in Brazil on Lagoa (Witches Island), he came to the United States in his early teens. As a writer, he focuses on the paranormal and occult, adding a weird spin all his own to the Urban Dark Fantasy genre.
I just really enjoy writing and the urban dark fantasy genre lets me come up with some great stories.
He's not only the Silver Crown King, he's also the king of sneaks! Everything this anti-hero does has an ulterior motive. Want to be his friend? Sure! Just be prepared to be his cannon fodder LOL. You have to admire a man like Caine Deathwalker. He's everything the author says he is. I love that he does have a soft spot (I'm not sure if soft spot is the word for it...affection?) for his were-kitties and close friends (if he has any...which he kind of does...in a weird way...) I have really enjoyed this series so far, and look forward to the next. If you want a hero who is so perfectly, wickedly flawed and knows it (heck, revels in it!) with blood, gore, action, sex, violence, wise cracks, then check out the Demon Lord series!
This series is like a train wreck. I cant look away. The writing is decent, the editing bad, and the proofreading lacking. Yet I keep coming back and Ill read the next chapter with the same tongue biting frustration I read the others.
This series could be a 4 or 5 star if just those editing/proofing was fixed!
Caine would agree. In stories where heroes prevail, it’s delightful to watch an anti-hero kick ass and take names - so that he can kick their asses too. The humor, action, magic, and mayhem found in this series is excellent. As bad as he is though, there’s something about Caine that makes you want to see him win. He has rules, and he has honor: which puts him above many people right there. This story sees him win land, infamy, parental approval, and thrones. Definitely a good read. Not for kids, and not for rigid thinkers. Very recommended (17+): you really need to start with book one.
If you've read the rest of this series then this won't disappoint. Caine Deathwalker is still an absolute tool. But this time the death and mayhem serves a purpose. A very specific purpose. To get him on as many thrones as possible. Never boring, apart from his worship of his own manhood, the story delivers a fast paced violence laden diversion from the usual supernatural tale. No deep hidden meanings. The author though needs to rein his ultra conservative views. It's not why anyone's reading these books.
Although I enjoyed this book I Couldn't help but notice the multiple punctuation errors throughout. Some words that were used just didn't make sense or were misspelled. Other than that the book was very entertaining.
I believe this is the best book that Mr blayde has written. Plenty of excitement a few things out of left field. This book is in the top five of books that I have read this year. This is urban fantasy at its best.
The sexual part of the series was a little too much for me when I first started reading book 1 but has been toned down a little over time. The unapologetically ruthless hero has an Intriguing plotline that has pulled me in.
This series has really gone from average to "better than good". Hoping that next book in the series to be best.
Blue Priestess was good. But first two book was just average. Thank you Mr. Blayde for continuing the series. This series is becoming more interesting and cool.
As usual with this quite amusing series: A solid 3 1/2 Star rating. Could be 4 if some editing took place. Lots of typos, grammar errors and text redundancies.
