Two sisters whose emotional journey began in IT’S NOT MY FAVORITE and continued in MY FAVORITE SECOND CHANCE are facing their biggest challenge. They are about to uncover a truth that will change their lives—forever.
Gwenn Hutchinson has waited years for a second chance. Her first love, Steven, has inexplicably returned, yet he is more focused on a forced happy ending than their actual relationship. She struggles with acceptance when she realizes her younger sister will be happily married before she ever sorts out her feelings for Steven or the new man in her life, Daniel. Gwenn must confront long hidden truths and decide what she’s willing to sacrifice—even though it could cost her everything.
Newly engaged to Annie, her rock-star girlfriend, Rachel Hutchinson is blissfully in love. But with Annie on tour while she’s stuck in Duluth, their long-distance romance is becoming difficult to maintain. To complicate matters, Rachel’s unpredictable mother is teetering between life and death.
Matriarch Shirley Hutchinson is gravely ill and looking for a miracle. Will the daughters she has persecuted for decades come to her aid or become her downfall?
FINALLY MY FAVORITE is a breathtaking and surprising story about love, family, loss and secrets that will rock the Hutchinson sisterhood to its core…
Featuring cameos from fan-favorites Todd, Flora, Randy, and Thea, this steamy and sexy story of true love—set against the stunning backdrops of Duluth, San Miguel de Allende, and Greece—is a satisfyingly heartfelt conclusion to Rue’s beloved series that will leave you breathless and teary and laughing—often all at once.
2015 and 2016 IPPY Award Winner. 2016 National Indie Excellence Awards Finalist. Rue is an award-winning fiction author and in her limited spare time, she reads voraciously. Her love of the written word led to the pursuit of a B.A. in Journalism from Pepperdine University in California and a lifelong passion for writing. Her respect for indigenous cultures, oral traditions, and the seasonal magick of nature inevitably brought her work to the world of fantasy. The story of Flynn Hawthorn has been part of her heart and imagination for nearly a decade.
A 🌟stellar finale to a heartwarming tale of the unbreakable bonds of sisterhood👭:-) September 8, 2018 Format: Kindle Edition 👍👍 🎑 What a great way to end a superb series featuring💕 romance and 👭sisterly devotion! This series is chock full of wry humor, angst, romance, passion, a bit of heartbreak and self discovery. Sisters Gwenn and Rachel are each other's confidante and best friend through thick and thin, and this last book in the series features some MAJOR drama!
Author Rue has lovingly painted a picture of flawed individuals, from Shirley, their judgmental mother, to Greta, a lovely surprise addition to the family, and, of course, the girls and their love interests. Rock legend and fellow Minnesotan Prince even makes a surprise appearance. And, through it all, Rachel plans her dream💐 wedding to rocker Annie and Gwenn must face some dark, buried truths before deciding if either of the men in her life is what she wants. Their unresolved issues with parents Shirley and Pastor Ed come to a head and Rue builds in lots of great surprise twists that made this one of the best stories I have read this year.
I do wish there had been a bit more elaboration on the turn in Gwenn's life at the book's end, but nevertheless this was a terrific, well-written story with lots of heart and complex characters. And all the drama kept me wondering at the end of each chapter "what new twist is waiting for these two?" I will not soon forget the image of Rachel, face covered in sugar and cheeks stuffed with demon donuts!! I heartily recommend this novel and hope that Rue will write more in the same vein.
I read a complimentary copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
This book was a great end to the story of the Hutchinson sisters. This story touched on not only humor and sisterly bonding, but also some very deep issues. This was pretty emotional, but also offered some lighthearted banter with self discovery. I think there were many emotions highlighted throughout this book, but the biggest thing I felt during the course of this series, and this book in particular, was love. This series promoted love of every kind and most importantly self love. I think both sisters realized that they had to love themselves and be happy with themselves before they could be happy with anyone else and I believe that is something that will resonate with the readers. The author does an incredible job of conveying that message without sounding preachy. I also believe the way she writes with her use really good similes allows the reader to really picture what she is trying to portray. I would recommend this series to everyone. I only wish there was more to read!!
Liked the book very much! Enjoyed it very much and loved how Rachel and Gwenn's story wrapped up. After what with Gwenn in first I didn't saw that coming but it was cool. So happy for Rachel. Really cool end to the Hutchison sisters. And I was not a fan of Steven but he is okay. Then Daniel, loved what he did to get Gwen and he did took care of himself. His relation with Todd is like Todd is his older brother who takes care of his brother. I love their relationship. Overall cool last book. Got the book in exchange of an honest review.
This was my favorite book of the three. It was packed full of making your emotions go wild....cry, laugh, cry, smile. This book taught you that sometimes you have to let go of the past and take a leap of faith. The sad part is the book showes us that sometimes peoples fears make them make sad life choices (which affect others) instead of finding happiness.
The final in the Lake Effect Series! A wonderful end to a great series. I was taken on so many twists and turns through out this book, as well as the other two, that I didn't want it to come to an end. The Hutchinson sisters are two of my favorite characters now out of all the books I've read (I'm an avid reader - 5 books or more a month). If you're looking for a wild ride full of laughs, tears, friendship, and love then you won't be disappointed.
Nice ending to the Hutchinson sisters story. No loose strings. I only give it three stars as I didn't like some of the phrasing. For some reason "honey pot" just totally offends me. Other than a few things like that it was a nice series.
