This is the End #2

Not Dead Yet

Rate this book
Angie is a 29 year old recovering addict who spends her time getting high and playing video games. At least, that was the plan until the zombie apocalypse started and she had to run for her life.
After a close call in San Antonio, Angie and her friends soon find themselves amidst a questionable cult, ran by a man who calls himself The Preacher. It isn't long before she's forced to decide who's worth saving; her friends or herself.

When Lisa isn't figuring out the best way to survive the zombie apocalypse, she can be found at work or playing with her two cats in Aurora, Colorado. If you’d like to read some of her (probably terrible) other writing, you can find it at https://misadventuresinreality.com. She would love to hear from you and can be found on Facebook and Twitter and at www.lisabiesiada.com. Don’t worry, you’ll find her; there are only 5 people in the country by that name and only she would be crazy enough to own up to anything she wrote.

I devoured this book today and still can't get enough of Jack, Angie and Austin.

But....wait....WTF??? That's the ending??? OH HELL NO, Ms. Biesiada - you can't possibly end it like this ---- No NO NO...I can't allow that.

UGH...even though I can't believe this ending - I still love it and give it a whopping 5 Stars for the series.

Crap ending.

Rarely have I been so pissed off at a books ending. I can overlook a lot, but when I invest several days into a book, I have certain expectations. This book did not come close to meeting them. It . Felt like the author just got bored with writing this series and so just ended it. Now maybe it's because 8 just finished it and am still shocked and annoyed, but aaaargh. Come on there is enough bullshit in life all ready without having to put up with it in books you read for enjoyment.

Disappointing

Not nearly as good as the original and at times, seemed like similar plot lines from Book 1 were re-used. Very disappointed.

I am not really sure where to start with this one. This is the next book for the series This is the End. Like in the first book, this book has some big spelling and grammar errors. This book also touches subjects with drugs and rape. Compared to the first book, this one was kind of a let down. It felt like it was just slapped together and so many things that were so far fetched (and yes, I know it is a zombie book and it is all fictional), like they meet a family that has a pilot and a nurse, all things they needed. And they had more guns and ammo (I guess living in Texas everyone has guns) and knew how to rock climb. Just really out there to make it not believable or relatable. The book ends really weird and it has the feeling that it might not continue. (I did look up the Author and confirmed there will be another book coming out, just in case you were wondering)

Favorite lines from the book
-If I were to die at this very moment, I’d go out smiling just knowing that someone cared if I lived or died.
-I might turn into Spiderman or Hannibal; could go either way.
-I did my best thinking laying down because then I didn’t have gravity to distract me.
-Earl had grenades?  Who else had them?  Why didn’t I get one?
-It looked normal enough; it was just blood.  It didn’t glow or sparkle or do anything else magical.
-Before I could tell anyone, Jack beat me to it. “I hear dead people.”
-I could deal with the government, but overzealous religious types were worse than clowns.
-“It’s not required to believe whole-heartedly in something.  I think leaving room for ideas to be questioned is a good thing; it helps us grow intellectually and individually.  Beliefs should always be questioned and challenged.  When you find yourself no longer doing so, you’ve stunted your growth as a human being.”
-I wanted to laugh at myself for not batting an eye when a rotting corpse seething with maggots gets close but a spider still freaked me out.
-He still looked like Santa and part of me wanted to sit in his lap and tell him what I wanted for Christmas while the other part wanted to smash the teacup and slit his throat with it.
-Of course another horrific crucifix hung above the bed which only made me want to track down whoever decorated the place and give them a bad Yelp review.
-“Ya know, converting people would go better if you used cookies and tickling.”
-I briefly wondered at how smart eating an entire can of beans was, but figured with no one around to hear the windfall, it wouldn’t really matter anyway.
-Someday if civilization was ever restored, a therapist was going to have a field day with me.
-I could deal with everything that had been done to me, but touch my kids and I will end you.
-I was starting to remember why I’d lived alone for so long; other people were exhausting and quite honestly, dangerous.
-Everyone froze and stared at me incredulously for a moment; apparently even my friends hadn’t quite gotten used to my random bouts of insanity, although I still thought a dance off would be a much better ending than blood and death.

Oh for the love of Pete. Spectacularly disappointing ending. That was truly an unnecessary cliffhanger of an ending, especially as it's been two years (?) since it this one was published, will a third actually come along? I hope so!

THAT aside, I have some issues with this story, and it's believability. Even in a *zombie apocalypse* there are some things I have a hard time following.

Not Dead Yet, was freaking AMAZING!!

Angie and her crew, has been captured. Chained and beaten, by 'The Preacher' who takes Angie into the main house. Making her wash all the dishes and has her beaten while he reads the Bible to her. All the time. Asking her if she believes in God.
I won't comment about the ending...BUT....I can always hope there will be a Book 3....

Oof.

The first novel was entertaining even with the editing errors and all. This one just disappointed. More than the misused words, the feeling that the author just gave up, threw any plausibility out the window, and rushed to get it over with an ending that did not do it justice. This could have been so much more.

Enjoyed the 1st book & the 2nd one until the ending. So abrupt & disappointing. As if she ran out of things to say or couldn't think of a decent ending

Seriously

What happened? Just decided to quit and so abruptly it’s the end. Nowhere as good as book 1. This ending sucks, if it can even be called an ending. Disappointed.

Not Dead Yet (This is the End Book 2)

This book continued the battle for survival of the Zombie Apocalypse for Angie, Jack, Chloé, Ty, Earl, Penny, Bash, Austin, little Johnny and Roscoe, Ty's dog. The suspense kept me on the edge of my seat! The plot was unpredictable and I was continually surprised and caught off guard as the story unfolded! Without giving anything away, I couldn't put my Kindle down! You must read "Least Likely to Survive" first as "Not Dead Yet" is the second book in the 2-book series. Lisa Biesiada is an excellent author who describes the characters so well that you feel you really know them, exactly what they look like and their innermost feelings, and makes you care so much for them! Believe me, I'll be watching for more novels by Lisa Biesiada and will be reading every one of them! Shes that good!!!!

Love it

Exciting from beginning to end! Like nothing I have ever read before! So easy to get attached to the characters and feel like I am there with them during their journey.
