A Dangerous Tryst

Rate this book
Madalina Maitland is on the run again—and this time, it’s personal. Abducted by men who believe she knows more than she’s telling about the two remaining stone dragon figurines, Madalina is taken to an exotic yet isolated locale…where she discovers she’s not the only hostage. The stakes are higher than ever as Madalina’s daring escape plan turns into a rescue mission. Meanwhile, her boyfriend is already hot on her trail. Private security specialist Cole West, along with his loyal brothers, will travel to the ends of the earth to rescue Madalina—or die trying. In this sexy, thrilling conclusion to Danielle Bourdon’s Inheritance series, Madalina and Cole realize survival isn’t just about evading the bad guys. Any hope for a peaceful life hinges on tracking down the artifacts at the heart of the conspiracy and returning them to their rightful owner. Taking readers from the carefree beaches of California to the politically volatile villages of Nepal, A Dangerous Tryst proves that nothing fans the flames of passion quite like a healthy dose of danger.

I received this ARC from NetGalley, which in no way impacts the content of my review.

This is the third and a thrilling conclusion to Madalina Maitland and Cole West adventures. Madalina Maitland, a clothes shop owner and precious artifacts owner inherited from her grandfather and Cole West, her boyfriend and a private security specialist. Although can be read without reading the previous books, you’ll have much greater joy and experience if you read them in order.

Just like the first book, the action start off the bat. Those who believed she knows more about the artifacts kidnapped Madalina. Her escape plan changed to rescue mission, while Cole desperately hot on her trails to rescue her. In this book, it’s not about evading bad guys, but about outsmarting them and finding the artifacts all been looking for. Sort of taking an offensive move. All for hope of finding a peaceful life. Once again, we were taken around the world in the pursuit of the artifacts. We were taken on a suspense roller coaster, with new bad guys, different and more complicated motives and increasing volatility. Will they find their peacefully happily ever after, once and for all?

This is a very fast-paced book. It took me only a day to finish it; it’s just impossible to put it down. The suspense was so intense that my heart raced throughout the book. It was an edge-of-your-seat suspense. Not one with a lot of bang-bang, but more to the kind of what’s-around-the-bend suspense. We got to know more about Cole’s enigmatic brothers, their interaction with each other and the span of their job capability. I actually love that both main characters were not jaded, cynical people with lots of emotional baggage and scars. At the bottom line, they’re ordinary people. This way, I got to enjoy the mystery, the suspense and their growing relationship more, without additional emotional drama. It’s good to know that ordinary people could make interesting story as well. The ending was so sweet; it put tears in my eyes. I honestly sad to know the story had ended… and now I got a book hangover. Oh, well…

I absolutely would recommend this book to anyone out there who enjoys mystery-suspense with sprinkles of good romance. Not only this book, but also the entire series is worth it.

This book starts with a fast pace and a strong storyline. I typically read series in order however, I have not read the previous books and I think I would have enjoyed it even more if I had. I still enjoyed the book. One of the best things about this book was the pacing. New things keep happening and you don’t really have a chance to get bored. The inclusion of a rescue, search for artifacts and avoidance of enemies keeps the story suspenseful.

Hold on to your seatbelts it's time for a bumpy ride

They just hoped the story was done after Rio, but seeing as this was a trilogy readers knew it wasn't, closing up the shop Madalina is kidnapped, trying to escape she discovers her parents are as well, it's Cole and his brothers to the rescue but not before they are wisked out of the country. Join Madalina, Cole, and his brothers on the hunt for the last 2 dragons

Not too bad

In a series not every book will be good. This one isn't necessarily bad but it's not as good as the first two. For some reason I didn't feel a connection with this storyline. It didn't grab me. I loved the ending. It sort of drags initially. There's no real feelung of intensity.

Glad to read the third in the series which brings the story to an end. Safe in their new house Cole and Mad didn't realise that there were others looking for the final dragons. Another adventure waits the intrepid 2 as well as Cole's brothers. Will they survive the battle? Great read.

Great

An enjoyable book that ends a fascinating trilogy. This series was a relaxing summertime escape. I will look forward to other books regarding the romances for Cole's brothers.

Madalina Maitland is leaving her store late one evening and is kidnaped by three large men. She has learned enough from her boyfriend Cole West to leave clues and when to fight or when to wait. Cole’s brothers are at his home to help celebrate Madalina’s birthday when Madalina does not come home so Cole and his brothers go to the store looking for her. They can see she was kidnaped. Since Cole’s family owns a security firm, they bring up all the feeds around to try of find out who kidnaped Madalina. Madalina and Cole are both thinking that this is because of the Chinese dragons her grandfather left her in a secure place. What Madalina doesn’t understand is that these men are much larger than the Chinese agents who kidnaped her in the past.

The book is an exciting story of Cole and his brothers going to rescue Madalina as well as Cole, Madalina, and Cole’s brothers search to find the Chinese dragons using Madalina’s grandfather’s obscure clues. They are all being chased by the mercenaries that are shooting at them. This was a good book with action, mystery and love. The story kept me guessing what was going to happen next. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and encourage you to read it. I was given this book for an honest review.

Loved this book! It's a fast paced romantic suspense that moves very quickly. Madalina and Cole are living together when Madalina is kidnapped. Cole, using his family's resources, goes to great lengths to find her - including bringing his brothers along for the search.

Madalina's grandfather continues to leave messages for her from beyond the grave. What he has created for her to experience after his death is an amazing journey. Unfortunately, once a dragon is involved, there is no time to enjoy it. The dragons are an important part of Oriental history and multiple players are vying for them and some will do anything do possess them.

Cole's brothers play a bigger role in this book and I enjoyed reading about them. This is a stand alone novel, but you will enjoy it so much more if you read the first two books. This is set as a trilogy, but I am hoping the author will be doing a spin off with the same characters.

If you like romantic suspense, you will love this book - it's another winner.

You just knew life would not be smooth sailing for Madalina and Cole. When Madalina is kidnapped, Cole and his brother will stop at nothing and fly around the world to rescue her. Madalina is a quick study, and she is now kicking butt and keeping up with those Sexy West Brothers. The book is action packed and fast moving, with adventures in remote parts of the world, and even in a war-zone.(which was actually kinda confusing.) I really liked Samuel from the last book, so I was disappointed he barely was in this book, but Brandon and Damon both had major roles in this one. Madalina finally meets the entire West clan.
As usual, the love scenes are mild compared to most Contemporary novels. I really wish the author would just raise the heat level some, especially with such a sexy hero like Cole West. Now what is lacking in "heat", the author makes up for with a very romantic ending.
This is a wrap on the mystery of the Dragons, though I sure hope there will be more story lines for all the West brothers coming soon.

Never a dull moment in this book. This is the third and final book in the Inheritance series. It really is set up to continue this series and I sincerely hope the author does. I did not find it necessary to read the first two books to enjoy this one. I am going to read them of course because I like the story.
The book starts out with the kidnapping of Maitland and her parents. Someone is trying to locate the last two dragons belonging to the set. Cole West and his brothers set out to rescue her and her parents. After the rescue they set out to Nepal to try and find the dragons mentioned in the letter Walcot, Madalina's grandfather, left her when he passed on.
Plenty of action, suspense, romance, and mystery.

I won this on Goodreads for free.

A shout out to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing to read this book in advance. Thanks!!! Although this is the 3rd book in the series-I was not lost (I have not read the previous 2). It is clearly noted that this is number 3 but I decided to give it a try anyway. You do realize that you are missing some subtleties but overall it can be read as a standalone. This is a fast paced, keeps you on your toes sort of book-never guessing what lies around the corner. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and will look for this author in the future. I would highly recommend giving this book and Danielle Bourdon a shot. Enjoy

A thrilling end to the most elaborate and dangerous game of hide and seek.

Life has quieted for Madalina and Cole but they are still watchful, knowing that two dragons are still missing. When Madalina and her parents are kidnapped, Cole and his brothers are hot on their trail to rescue them and find the missing dragons.

This book was more action than romance but it was interesting to watch the development of Madalina's character from simple fashionista to kick-ass, take charge action hero.

I received an advanced reader copy for an honest review.

I have enjoyed all of the books in this series, but I think this one was my favorite. There was a lot of excitement in this book, like the others. Cole and Madalina's relationship seemed so solid in this one that I really enjoyed that feature. Cole's brothers played a prominent role in this one too. Enjoyed this one a lot!

Cole and Madalina are forced to embark on journey to find the last of her grandfather 's messages and the dragon. From kidnapping, coups, faraway countries and Cole's family ,this third book grabs the reader's attention from the first pages and doesn't let you put it down until the end. Great series.

Just finished. Danielle once again brought to life her characters. Don't know how she does it- but she continues to do it with each new book!

I love books that make you forget you are reading them. If you can get immersed in the storyline, see it , feel it, you know you are reading a great book!
