Starting Over is the third Barbie Bohrman book I’ve read and it’s safe to say I’m a fan. Barbie knows how to write lovable characters, great family dynamics and fun, yet heartwarming stories. Playing it Safe is by far my favorite of hers. I’m not sure if anyone could top Julia and Alex. But guess what- you get some Julia and Alex in this story. It’s Vanessa’s book, and Vanessa is Alex’s older sister.
I remember Vanessa and Josie fondly from Playing it Safe. I loved them both and their dynamic as a mother daughter duo. It’s been just Josie and Vanessa for so long, Vanessa doesn’t remember any other way. Josie always comes first.
When Vanessa meets Josie’s science teacher, she is instantly attracted and having feelings and thinking things she hasn’t felt or thought in a long time. Josie is totally on board with her dating. Especially if it’s Mr. Cameron Thomas. Vanessa wants to try, but she still has her reservations. Cameron is understanding and patient with her, but at the same time knows when to say something and when to push.
Just as Vanessa starts to realize starting over might be okay, something (or someone) re-enters her life and shakes everything right of her axis.
Starting Over is a tale of just that- Vanessa starting her life over. I found this story sweet, heartwarming and lovable. I do wish that we got more scenes with this couple. I wanted more Cameron and Vanessa scenes!I like how much Barbie’s books focus on family, and this family is fantastic. Overall, I enjoyed this one. 4 stars!

”Are you really happy, Mom?”
I love this cover and was excited to head to the beach and/or have a beach date. Sadly there isn’t a beach scene in this book (boo). There is however, a story about a mother of a tween daughter who for the past thirteen years been using her daughter as an excuse not to date and/or have any type of relationships outside of her family. You see, Vanessa’s ex ran out on her when he found that she was pregnant with Josie.
”I don’t have friends. But I have my family. They’ve always been supportive of Josie and me, and have been there through everything.”
At an open school night, Vanessa meets Mr. Thomas. Cameron Thomas is the hot, nerdy science teacher, who after a few chance meetings is interested in pursuing something with Vanessa.
”Vanessa, you do know that there is no rule that says a teacher cannot date one of their students’ parents, right?”
Vanessa has a great support system within her family. I just loved her brother and his family!! The star of the book is in fact, Josie. She’s more mature than her mother and handles her father returning to her life and the possibilities of her mother dating all the while doing her tween thing with ease.
”See, that’s where you’re wrong, Mom,” she says angrily. “Because I think you’re using me as an excuse not to date.”

Overall, this is a quick, light, sweet story that I wished had more of Cameron and Vanessa scenes added. Also, Matthew could have said more about their relationship in his apology. Still, I enjoyed the story as a whole and found the epilogue perfection!

I became a fan of Barbie Bohrman after reading Playing It Safe. It was one of those new-to-me author experiments that worked out even better than I could have imagined. Sexy, sweet, surprisingly addictive rolled into one, I was ready to sign up for any future releases she had to offer. I'm going to be honest and tell you that I didn't even read the synopsis before I requested this book. I was just that happy with my first experience. While I didn't quite love this as much as I was expecting, there was still enough to offer to make it a pleasant read. This was the type of book that was light on the drama and heavy on the sweetness.
Cutting it down to basics, here's what you get with Starting Over:
Sexy, nerdy science teacher meets single mother and sparks fly, awkward dating ensues, and a relationship with two people grows. I have a weakness for stories with nerds so that was one big selling point for me. It's a very simple plot but while reading it, I could identify with the heroine quite a bit. While I'm not a single mother, I have a daughter around the same age and a lot of the things she experienced and discussed with her felt like it was coming right from my own home. In that way it felt very naturalistic and enabled me to understand the heroine very well.
Vanessa was abandoned by her boyfriend in college when she became pregnant, but instead of taking the easy way out like he did, she resolved to make the best life for her child. Her dreams of pursuing her love of art became a hobby rather than a career and she devoted her life to providing a stable and happy life for her daughter. After 13 years, she hasn't had a dating life to speak of. But now that her daughter is getting a little older and becoming more independent, she's starting to wonder if maybe she should start thinking of being more selfish. To give herself permission to do things for herself and not feel guilty about it. The first step in that direction was setting eyes on her daughter's new science teacher. He had sexy geek written all over him and for the first time in years, she was flustered and attracted to a man.
Like Professor Indiana Jones himself came to life and stepped off the movie screen and is now standing right in front of me in all his adorably dorky, aloof hotness, packaged perfectly in the guise of a random science teacher in Anytown, USA.
Really there only a couple of conflicts in the book, but they were just minor blips on the scale, they weren't all that significant. We had Vanessa's ex suddenly reappearing and looking to finally step up and become a part of his daughter's life. This scaring the living daylights out of her, and making her fear him pursuing custody of their child. First of all, her fear level didn't seem plausible to me simply because the man abandoned them and not only did not financially support his child in 13 years, but he never met her or spoke with her. How does she feel like he has a chance of taking her daughter away from her? She's raised a happy, healthy, and well adjusted child and she thinks he's going to have more rights than her? Not only that, but I lost a little respect for her when she questioned whether or not to accept child support from him. Because she "feels like it makes her look like that's all she cares about." Really? The man helped father the child, decided he wanted no part of them for that many years, and she wants to continue to let him have it easy? Hell no.
The conflict toward the end caused by Vanessa's fears came out of nowhere for me and didn't seem naturalistic IMO. Her reasoning why she did what she did wasn't sufficient for me to believe in her reacting that way. She knew all the dangers and risks going into things with Cameron from the beginning and was willing to take her chances in order to find happiness for herself, to start over. My other reasoning for my rating was the lack of heat in the book. After being pleasantly surprised with Playing it Safe, I was expecting a considerable amount of steam, but in this case it never passed the simmering stage.
If you're looking for a book that's high on the angst, drama, or steam, this probably won't be the book for you. But if you're in the mood for a fast, light read with plenty of sweetness this could be what you're looking for. Barbie Bohrman is a talented author I will continue to follow. I may not have loved this one as much as I had hoped, but it was still entertaining, engaging, and that geeky Star Wars loving hero made everything worth my while.

I first met Vanessa and Josie in Starting Over and instantly feel in love. I was so excited to see that Vanessa would be getting a story and finding her happily ever after.
Vanessa is a single mother to her thirteen year old daughter, Josie. Josie and her have always been this perfect little duo, but now that Josie is getting older she wants to do more things independently or with her friends. Vanessa really struggles with Josie growing up and sort of leaving her behind. Cameron Thomas is Josie’s teacher and is attracted to Vanessa. He begins pursuing her, but Josie doesn’t feel like the relationship is appropriate. After some convincing Vanessa decides to go out with Cameron.
I absolutely love this concept. It’s fun, fresh and a little bit forbidden, but not over the top. I wanted to love this story more, but I never felt invested in the characters or their relationship. I wanted to feel more. I think that’s where I have struggled with this review, because there is nothing wrong with this book, the plot or the writing. I think others may definitely love this story, I was just hoping for more feels.
Starting Over is a fun, light reads very quickly. I really enjoy reads like this, but in this case I just kept waiting for more. However, I think this story may be perfect for others. I know my friends have really enjoyed it, so this may definitely be a case of it’s me, not the story.

This is a short and sweet romance that loosely ties to the wonderful Playing It Safe (my review), but can also easily be read as a standalone.
Vanessa is the older sister of the luscious Alex from Playing it Safe. She has been a single mother since her boyfriend left her while she was pregnant, and since then she has dedicated her life to raising her daughter, Josie, who has been her entire life, but who is now 12 and is starting to get a life of her own.
At an open school night Vanessa meets Josie’s hot, nerdy science teacher, Mr Thomas, and for the first time in what seems like forever, she feels the flutters of attraction and wonders if it’s time to open herself up to dating again. After receiving loads of encouragement from her daughter and family, when she starts randomly running into Mr Thomas (“call me Cameron”) and he makes it clear that he is interested in her, things between them start to slowly progress.
OMG, Cameron is pure perfection! He is described as a Professor Indiana Jones-ish character, complete with glasses, nerd t-shirts and a mild obsession with all things Star Wars. I’m not gonna lie, that’s kinda my thing, so I was fully on board. He is such a sweetheart, acknowledging how nervous and tentative Vanessa is, he is incredibly gentle and respectful with her, but he’s also sexier than all hell, and I love that despite his shy nerdiness, he wasn’t afraid to put himself out there for her.
But Vanessa has family drama brewing, and coupled with the doubts she still has about juggling romance with being there for Josie, she does struggle with what’s going on in her life. Honestly, I wanted to smack her a few times, but she was a really likeable character, and she handles herself well for the most part.
The book is written wholly from Vanessa’s POV, and a lot of it is inner monologue as she deals with everything going on around her. And while I loved her and Cameron together, the romance almost feels like a background storyline at times, I would have loved to have seen more of them together.
I really like how Julia and Alex from Playing it Safe played such a big part in the story. I love them both so much, so it was great to catch up with them, and their support of Vanessa and Josie was absolutely gorgeous! And Josie herself is an absolute scene stealer! She’s such a great kid, growing up and figuring things out, but an absolute sweetheart. I love her.
This is a really sweet book. It’s a really quick read and there’s actually not that much that happens in the story, but it was cute and left me with a smile on my face.

Starting Over was an enjoyable read.
The story was well written, the characters Vanessa and Cameron were likable and very relatable.
Overall this was a sweet read that held my interest from start to finish.
I recommend this book.

Starting Over was a short and sweet read about finding love again. This is the third book that I've read from Barbie Bohrman. Though this is a complete standalone, I enjoyed seeing some familiar characters from her previous novel, Playing It Safe. I liked the story and the characters and I enjoyed the connection and banter between them. While I did like this story, it was not my favorite of Barbie's books.
Vanessa Holt is the older sister of Alex from Barbie's previous novel. She is a single mom of a 12 year daughter named Josie. Since Josie's father left when she while she was pregnant, she's has raised Josie on her own. Her daughter is her world and they had a great mother-daughter connection.

Cameron was sweet, caring, and a little bit nerdy. He was also a truly patient person. Dating was something completely new for Vanessa and she had many insecurities about it. He gave Vanessa as much space and time as she needed. I liked Vanessa but her insecurities and doubts frustrated me. I wanted her to be more confident.
While this was a sweet story, it just did not have as much romance as I had hoped. It dealt more with Vanessa's issues and family drama. Don't get me wrong, Vanessa and Cameron were cute together and there was even a steamy scene or two, I enjoyed them. I just did not feel that their romance was fully developed. I wanted to see more of their connection and them as a couple. Although I wanted more from this story it was still a quick and enjoyable read.

Vanessa is a single mother of a twelve year old daughter Josie. She dedicates most of her time to raising her daughter, working and her art love on the sideline. Her family pressure her into dating but this is still one thing she’s not so sure about. After promising her daughter she would try to date, she gets an offer from her daughter’s science teacher. There is definitely sparks between them but Vanessa is scared of the consequences of dating her daughter’s teacher.
After reading the description, I was looking forward to reading this book. I liked the beginning of the story, and the bond between mother and daughter. But as the story progressed I wasn’t so eager to finish the book. I got annoyed with the mother throughout the book. It felt like a teen trying to date for the first time. It was getting annoying because there were hardly any dialogs.
But in the end, this was an easy read with a nice storyline. I loved the family aspect of the story and how it shows us we can always count on our family. Also, it's always nice to read a little geek romance :)

4 Cautious Stars
Vanessa is Alex's sister from Playing It Safe , and this story takes place two years after that book. Precocious and adorable Josie is on the cusp of turning into a teenager and becoming more independent from her mother. With Josie's encouragement and that of her family, Vanessa begins to explore the possibility getting her own life independent of being a mother, and starts dating the cute Science Teacher, Cameron, from Josie's school.
But just as things seem to start working out, someone from Vanessa and Josie's past comes to throw a monkey wrench into Vanessa's well ordered life. This causes a little strife with Josie as well as causing Vanessa to second guess if she has the time or emotional stability to make things work with Cameron.

I really enjoy Barbie's writing and the stories of these characters. I had been waiting anxiously for Vanessa's story and got to know more of who she is and how she came to be a single parent.
I loved the moments with Josie, just like I did in Playing It Safe and thought what there was of Cameron was great. I loved getting more of Julia and Alex and them as parents. Reading Julia trying not to curse was hilarious at every turn.
So why didn't I give it 5 stars like the first two books? Well, although I get Vanessa's struggle and it reminds me a lot of how my mother was raising me as a single parent. I thought Vanessa was a bit overly cautions and self deprecating about everything. I get putting her child first, but she did it to the point of martyrdom.
Then when she got that letter and ignored it, I wanted to shake her. I knew what was coming next and when Josie found it, I knew how it would anger her. Also, Cameron felt a little like an afterthought in the storytelling in this one. I didn't get to figure out why she fell for him and I wanted more with he and Josie getting to know each other as well. Being the child of a single parent, I know that getting to know the kid and having a relationship with them is key in building a relationship.
This didn't take away from how I much I enjoy Barbie's storytelling. It just caused me to not love it as much as the other two books.
She's still an author I really enjoy and will read whatever she puts out.
4 Cautious Stars
Vanessa is Alex's sister from Playing It Safe , and this story takes place two years after that book. Precocious and adorable Josie is on the cusp of turning into a teenager and becoming more independent from her mother. With Josie's encouragement and that of her family, Vanessa begins to explore the possibility getting her own life independent of being a mother, and starts dating the cute Science Teacher, Cameron, from Josie's school.
But just as things seem to start working out, someone from Vanessa and Josie's past comes to throw a monkey wrench into Vanessa's well ordered life. This causes a little strife with Josie as well as causing Vanessa to second guess if she has the time or emotional stability to make things work with Cameron.

We met Vanessa and her daughter Josie in Playing It Safe as they are Alex's sister and niece. Vanessa is a single mom whose life revolves around work, part time art, and her twelve year old daughter, Josie. She has not dated in years and her social life is relegated to family time. But she is beginning to realize something is missing.
Then she meets her daughter's adorable, nerdy but sexy Science teacher. They begin a somewhat awkward dance of flirtation and dating.
I adored Cameron. He was just the right combo of geek and hot. He had a good heart, and was patient and kind. But he also knew when he needed to be more assertive. He did not always come of as suave, but he was charming and sweet. I admired Vanessa's devotion to Josie and her family, but will admit she frustrated me at times. I hated to see her keep putting Cameron on hold. Her fears and insecurities were easy to mask under the guise of good parenting and family issues.
But it actually was probably a pretty realistic portrayal of a long time single mother new to the dating game and trying to deal with some new and nerve wracking personal issues. It would be easy to become overwhelmed and virtually shut down.
There were some funny, sweet, and heartfelt moments between her and her daughter, her family, and with Cameron. I liked getting more with Alex, Julia and little Violet from Playing It Safe. Her daughter Josie was both a typical teen and an exceptional one in many ways as she also handled some changes during this story. It was told in only Vanessa's point of view and I would have liked to have had Cameron's as well. I would have also liked to see more development with her and Cameron's relationship. It seemed to kind of happen fast (both the good parts and bad ones) without much actual together time and I wanted more scenes with just the two of them working towards their relationship and dealing with the issues. But it was still an engaging story of personal growth, family ties, taking chances, and second chance love. It was truly about Vanessa finding a way to start over and begin living her life again.

4 "Professor Indiana Jones" Stars

This was such a sweet quick read! This was my first read from Bohrman and I completely enjoyed the whole thing. The story line and all the characters throughout read and flowed well. There were a few situations that didn't quite make sense, but of all I really enjoyed the whole thing.
It has always been just Vanessa and Josie since her boyfriend and father of her child walked out on them when she was 3 months pregnant.
So you can see how this whole thing is going to play out pretty quickly. Josie is now an active, well adjusted and frankly pretty mature 13 yr. old. Who is starting to become more socially active like most girls her age. And Vanessa is having trouble finding herself now that she has so much time without her daughter.
Throw her daughters sexy, completely sweet, and a little bit nerdy Science teacher into the mix and things get interesting.
Mr. Thomas (or just Cameron) is everything Vanessa didn't know she was missing out on. And after a couple of chance encounters, things between the two begin to develop. Even though Vanessa is all about fighting her feelings and their connection usually using her daughter as an excuse.
Cameron is all kinds of adorable. He is the perfect mix of shy confidence. He is completely understanding of Vanessa's nervousness about their relationship and her concerns for her daughter and is willing to let her call the shots but also very clear about what he wants from her.
And then the gentle way he takes care of her when she was sick and their dates oh Cameron was just so much sweetness it was great. I loved the way he just wanted to be with her.
A bit a family drama comes Vanessa's way and she tucks tail and runs away from Cameron. Never really giving him the chance to be there for her, she just cuts him off. He sees through her issues and knows that she is running scared, but he won't push her into something that she clearly is not ready for. And Josie, that girl was great! She sees her mom's issues and is not afraid to call her on her crap either. I really enjoyed all the characters in this one which is rare, but I especially loved Josie!
I guess the one thing that really bugged me about it all was the issue with her ex showing up. Josie seemed to take everything way better and acted more mature that Vanessa did. I expected a little bit of drama but what we got was kind of silly to me. The whole custody, child support issues just seemed to be blown out of proportion.
Then there was the little bit about her sketch/painting at the fair that Cameron bought. One sentence the art work was referred to as a sketch, then a painting then a sketch again then a painting and then for the rest of the book it was a sketch...so I am assuming it was a sketch, but it was a little confusing at first.
Overall, it was a great read, full of a whole lot of sweetness, lighthearted and angst free. If you are looking for steamy this one is not for you. But I would still encourage you to check it out.

3 keep calm and drink mango smoothies- stars
Starting Over was one of those feel good books, perfect for a cozy day, wrapped up in a blanket on your sofa.
It started out as a fluffy, fun read with an adoringly beautiful mother-daughter-duo in the center of the story- it almost had a Gilmore Girls vibe which- considering I am a huge Gilmore Girls fan- was a huge plus.
It also had Professor Indiana Jones aka Cameron Thomas as the H. And eventhough I hate Indiana Jones, Cameron was probably one of the most charming heroes, I've come across in a book, in a long time. I totally call dibs on him :-)
There is honestly nothing really bad to say about this book.
The writing was effortless, went smoothly through the story and brought a fair share of wit and sass to the table.
So why 'just' a 3 star rating, you may ask...
One word: Vanessa.
While she was a really charming character, that I actually liked, I prefer my h's strong, determined and confident. She was neither of the above.
She did not stand up for herself, and without wanting to give too much away, put her daughter above anything, even herself to a degree that she was no longer actually living and denied herself her own happiness . Too bad- she could have saved herself - and the reader - a lot of drama. Sometimes her 12 year old daughter was more grown up, than she herself...I guess, that says everything...
Starting Over was still an enjoyable read, that I can wholeheartedly recommend.

Starting Over is a heartfelt story about finding the courage to let go of the past and live in the moment. Sweetness and comfort abound with likeable characters in this cute story with fun family dynamics.
I went into this book expecting a romance but what I got was chick lit with romantic undertones. Vanessa’s personal issues seemed to be at the forefront of the story while the budding relationship seemed like an afterthought. As a result, I never felt the chemistry between Vanessa and Cameron. Though I was disappointed in the lackluster romance, there were many things I enjoyed.
The family drama was far more interesting and watching it play out pulled on my heartstrings. Josie was charming and she reminded me of my own daughter at times. Though she was only 12 years old, Josie was wise beyond her years. The relationship between Josie and Vanessa was easy and fun to watch and quite frankly not always easy to accomplish with tweens.
Vanessa was a bit frustrating at times. I wanted her to be stronger but I understood the hurt she carried really did a number on her confidence. I was delighted to see her find herself again by the end of the story. Cameron was sweet and incredibly patient throughout the story. I wanted more of him and more for him. While that did not happen in this book, I feel like he just might have a story that needs to be told.
Though I wanted more from this story, I did enjoy it overall. It can be enjoyed by those who enjoy stories about women working out their issues.

We met Vanessa Holt and her spunky daughter Josie in Playing it Safe. And I absolutely loved these girls and am so happy to get their story. Plus we get to see more of Vanessa's sexy brother Alex!
From the beginning, its always been just Josie and Vanessa. Vanessa has always shied away from relationships, not wanting to bring guys in and out of Josie's life. Besides she has her Uncle Alex as a father figure, she doesn't need anyone else.
But when Vanessa goes to a parent night at the school, sparks fly when she locks eyes with Mr. Thomas, Josie's new science teacher. Although she would love to get to know Mr. Thomas, Vanessa sticks to her no dating rule and tries to focus on Josie. The only thing is that Josie is no longer her little baby. She has friends and a social life and will so be leaving Vanessa in the dust. Plus Josie sees what's really happening here...Her mom is using her as an excuse not to date and Josie is calling her on it.
But just as Vanessa decides maybe it's time to get back on the saddle, Josie's dad all of a sudden wants into her life - after being gone for almost 13 years. This was a great story about Vanessa and the trials she faced as a single mother. All things happen at the same time which seems crazy but it generally does happen that way in life sometimes. I love the relationship she has with her whole family including the sister in law who constantly cracked me up with her little tid bits with their own daughter Violet. Josie is a typical teenage girl on the brink of becoming a full blown teenager and woman. She is smart and insightful while also acting like a child in some ways. Its also nice to see how much the love interest Cameron is handsome but in a regular guy way where she doesnt have all sorts of woman drooling over him or hitting on him. They have a normal relationship where both of them are insecure about themselves and each other during times in their relationship. This was a great book and I loved the humor and love that is shared between everyone. I laughed and cried while cursing some of the people in the book including the main character.

This was my first time reading from this author and I really enjoyed STARTING OVER.
Throughout the book, Bohram mixed up the humour, angst, and swoon in just the right balance.
The story was fresh and real but also gives the reader the escape they're looking for.
The characters are well written that even the secondary characters are memorable. Vanessa and Josie's mother/daughter relationship was strong, endearing and the type of bond any mother hopes to have with their daughter.
I absolutely adored Cameron's (Mr. Thomas) character. His shy, Star Wars geek was hot and not done enough in romance books. His unassuming charm and charisma made him every much as swoon worthy as the more common tatted up, muscular, obvious hottie book boyfriend.
The characters were mature, straight forward. I really liked that they weren't whiny or wishy washy.
The humour in the story had me giggling out loud. I always enjoy a romance book that can add laughter to the story.
STARTING OVER is a quick, light, fresh read.
I would definitely read from this author again.

I loved this read! The story of Vanessa and her daughter who have a great family bond, they have always been there for each other but as her daughter gets older and wants to spend more time with her friends Vanessa doesn’t know what to do with herself. Her daughter encourages her to date and after much disagreeing, she finally agrees to finally put herself out there.
Vanessa finds a great connection with her daughter's science teacher and the rest is well history. Of course, there are a few bumps in the road but the sparks between these two are amazing! I loved Cameron he is the perfect guy for Vanessa he brought out the best in her and you couldn’t help but root for them.
I really did enjoy this audiobook, I loved the family dynamics and of course the romance! It’s a great storyline of throwing caution to the wind and finally putting yourself first and allowing yourself happiness for once. This was definitely one listen that was worth the time.

This is my third book from Barbie and the third time she's left me feeling happy and satisfied. I met Vanessa in Playing it Safe and had been looking forward to her story. The writing was fun and light. I love Barbie's humor; her characters think and speak the way I do so they're easily relatable to me. In Starting Over, I feel like Barbie captured the honest, every day internal struggle a single mom goes through as she ventures back into the dating world after being a single parent for so long. The narrator was excellent (I listened to the Audible) Kate nails the tone and inflection of the sarcasm, wit, and humor 100% of the time and make this a great read for me.

An excellent read that tells the story of a single mother who for the past 13 years has put romance at the bottom of the needs list. When she meets Cameron Thomas, her daughters new science teacher a spark of interest begins to flame. Though she tries to fight it, the attraction grows and his kind and caring ways soon have her walls crumbling. Soon though her fear of being rejected again comes to the surface and she is soon running using her daughter as a shield. Will she really just walk away from Cameron??

I love Cameron, “when can I see you again?” he asks, then presses another quick kiss to my lips. “I need to see you again.” Vanessa is a strong woman and always does what's best for her daughter I loved her character. Cameron was sweet, and patient great qualities in a man but I wish he was a tad bit bossy

This is my first Barbie Bohrman book and I really enjoyed it! I totally enjoyed the hero & the heroine. I felt they were totally believable! The chemistry was great. I really fell in love with Cameron! I understood Vanessa's situation, though not dating or being someone for 13 years is completely foreign to me. Vanessa is hot for teacher! Cameron is just what the single mom needs. This is more internal conflict than her ex coming back. What's more is that she uses her daughter as a shield from moving forward in love and letting someone in. Good read.

Arc copy for an honest review. I read this in one sitting. Loved it so much. It's funny, sad, and it had me angry in some parts. Over all it's a very cute romance story. Love all the characters especially Cameron and Vanessa. I so wish that I could read more of Cameron and Vanessa!

So I received a free copy of this, and I had never read anything by this author before, but I loved it!
The storyline is very sweet, and had a lot of funny moments. I dig a nerdy guy, so this was right up my alley! I loved it.

I enjoy the writing of BB, but I couldn't love this book.
The male protagonist was not really jumping off the page to me at all- and therefore, their relationship felt muggy to me. While I loved the mother daughter relationship, the romance was just lacking to me.
