Professor John F. Wilson is director of Newcastle University Business School.

He was previously University Director of Research at the University of Central Lancashire and Professor of International Business at Lancashire Business School. He has eclectic research interests in the fields of management and business history, as well as knowledge transfer, market entry strategy and European business. Apart from studies of Ferranti, British Gas North Western, Manchester Business School and BP-Amoco, he has published textbooks on British management and business history, as well as many specialized articles on British, Japanese, Brazilian and European business. He has twice been President of the Association of Business Historians, as well as being a Trustee of the Business History Conference and a Council member of the European Business History Association.
