Coming home had never been so confusing for Case McCann. Her life was planned, college and career were waiting, and then she came face to face with the terrifying yet strangely attractive boy-next-door.
Halston Blackhill wanted for nothing, waited for no one, and had no passions except the success of his cattle ranch. When that little McCann brat from the neighboring ranch tried to sneak onto his land, though, his passions surfaced.
Pretty good book but ended with some unanswered questions? What happened to Jackson? How did the family take Case and Hall's relationship as the families are enemies? What about Case's internship? Dallas? If those questions were answered I probably would bump this up to 4 stars. This story had spanking, mystery, a couple sex scenes, enemies to lovers and drama. I wish this story was longer. Would be nice to see how Case and Hall's relationship progressed.
BLACKHILL-MCCANN FAMILY FUED This story kept me on the edge of my seat and captivated as the pages turned with all the twists and turns in this fascinating story. Mystery, suspense, questions of a long time family rivalry and hatred, missing brother, a ransacked house, drugs, drug lords, and more. The plot reveals little bits and pieces and makes you want more. Small towns, nosey neighbors, jealousy, hot, sexy cowboys, know-it-all sheriff, and unanswered questions plague Casey McCann. Halston Blackhill has hated the McCann family all his life, it's a family tradition. Finding Case McCann trespassing it angers him one minute and when danger lurks, makes him overprotective the next, he can't help but bust her butt for her impetuous ways and lack of safety. I am not sure if this will be a series, but I hope so because we still have so many unanswered questions.
Really good story. Case is young and somewhat headstrong or self sufficient as she likes to call it. Hall is bitter because he had to take over the ranch after his parents died but we never found out why his bitterness has continued for so long or why there is a feud between his family and Case's. The plot is well thought out and well written. They relate well to each other and fall in love. The book ended a bit abruptly; I would have liked to read about how her family reacted to their relationship and also how the mystery of the absent/kidnapped brother would be resolved. Perhaps there will be a sequel.
4 stars This was a McCann vs the Blackhills until trouble comes and Chase has to call on a Blackhill to get through. I hope there is a book 2. Although there was a happy ending, there were a lot of unanswered questions. Hal and Case were sweet. There were innocence being taken but it was loving and slow. There were a few graphical sexual scenes, but overall a cute read.
