Dr. Alex Cortes is spending his Christmas alone in his beach house when he gets a knock at the door from Georgiana Kincaid. Georgie's car broke down as she was out driving around trying to cool down after a break up with her boyfriend. Her cell phone has died and she needs to use a phone to call for help.

Being a holiday Georgie ends up stuck at Alex's house when she can't find any assistance with her car. The two share the meal Georgie had fixed for her ex and the two begin to bond.

I have to say I did enjoy the characters in the story and their accidental run in on a holiday they both needed someone to be with. But what I found lacking was the time frame for them developing a relationship. The entire story takes place over two days which leaves me with the feeling of alright so what comes next? So while the story was good it just seemed a bit rushed to end.

Overall, I'd say it was an OK, quick read romance.

I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Alex was one sexy man, “it was enjoyable. Very enjoyable.” He pulled her onto his lap, holding her easily with one hand on her waist and the other around her shoulders. “But when we make love, I don’t want you to be tipsy, baby.” I loved this book it was very sweet.

It was ok. I haven't read any other books in this series so that could be why I was a bit underwhelmed by it. It was also.a bit too instalove for my taste. The hero goes from adamenatly not wanting a relationship and kids to the next minute wanting them.

Good!

This was the first book that I've read by this author, but I'm a sucker for Christmas stories. Well, this was the first Christmas story I've read in...forever. I lost my Christmas mojo last year, but this book has sparked something again. I liked the characters. I liked the short story. I liked the setting. Insta love happens and for Georgie and Alex it's a whirlwind Christmas love story. I'll definitely read more by this author.

I received and ARC of this story for an honest review. In this third book of the Tropical Heat series, Sophia Knightly had me hooked from the moment Alex and Georgina met. Once I started I didn't want to put it down till I was finished.

Normally meeting on a dark and stormy night isn't a great way to meet anyone. It makes me think of ominous things to come, luckily not in this case. It's just the start of the humorous meeting of Dr. Alex Cortes and Georgina Kincaid.

Alex is still upset this time of year, after his parents deaths. Add in a bad day with a patient, and it makes him plan a quiet evening alone. When he hears a knock on his door it drags him from his memories that are full of melancholy. He opens it to find a beautiful woman on the other side. Georgie’s car breaks down this stormy night in front of Alex’s house, just what she needs after her break up with her boyfriend. Since it’s Christmas Eve with no where to go Alex invites her to stay. They spend the evening chatting and getting to know each other. They learn things about themselves along the way too. There is an instant attraction between them, can it become more?

I really enjoyed this sweet light hearted romance, with just enough chemistry and heat to have me asking will they or won’t they. It had some humor to make me laugh and smile. I loved these characters. Georgie is just who and what Alex needed to start enjoying life again.

I discovered Sophia Knightly surprisingly through a free e-book. Knew right away I had to read the next book in the series, so I purchased it. The irony of it is that the first book I ever read by her was book one in the Tropical Heat series. The sense of adventure, the steamy love story and the mystery of Wild For You lead me to the next book in the series Sold on You. I loved that book so much I had to purchase it for all of my e-readers. Hard to believe that Kissed by You is book 3. I love that she took Christmas and built a story of tragedy, disappointment, love and healing around it. Made the element of romance all the more irresistibly sweet. Working through painful memories and heartbreaking events at anytime is never easy but Ms. Knightly uses a holiday synonymous with forgiveness, miracles and healing makes for a poignant backdrop.
Kissed by You is a powerful read that is a welcome edition to any romantic library. I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Romance Novella Dull

I thought Christmas themed short romance stories would be fun, but that was before reading the last two books. This one is even worse than the last one!

I am pretty irritated with the heroine here. She just broke up with a guy she wasted a year with (her words, not mine), because he decided he didn't want kids.

That same day she meets a hot doctor and proceeds to jump in the sack with him, knowing he doesn't want kids. Isn't that the definition of insanity, repeating an action and expecting a different result?

Neither of the characters generated any sympathy on my part, and this story feels more about hooking up than romance. Not recommended.

There is one intimate scene and, to the best of my recollection, no bad words.

ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book will get you into the holiday spirit. Georgiana's Christmas Eve is not going as she hoped, but when her car stalls out in front of Dr. Alex's Cortes' place things start looking up. Alex doesn't celebrate Christmas it's just too painful. His solitary holiday plans soon go up in smoke when Georgiana falls into his life. Soon Alex gets a bite of the holiday bug. Georgiana is exactly what Alex needs in his life, but could he lose her before he even has a chance with her? I really enjoyed this book. Georgiana brings such light into Alex's life. He's known a lot of hurt, but he's struggling to find the happiness in his life. One night changes both their lives forever.

This was a DNF for me. I made it all the way up to the scene where the heroine is sexually assaulted and then immediately (as in, literally moments after chasing the bad guy away) she jumps in the sack with the hero. Yes sexual assault is such an aphrodisiac .....

That was just the final straw for me in a series of events that strained credulity. The story starts off cute enough - Georgie's car breaks down outside of Alex's house so she asks to use his phone. She had just broken up with her long term boyfriend over a pre-nuptual agreement he wanted her to sign which - surprise surprise - was written to his advantage. She doesn't win any sympathy points for realizing pretty immediately that she never even loved this guy - she just wanted to get married and have kids. I'd say that his instincts with the prenup were on point then.

So she goes into Alex's house, they fall in love in minutes and it's super corny. She tells him that she wasted a year of her life being in a relationship with someone she realizes she never loved. Never? That's pretty harsh. I could see falling in then out of love but she never loved him yet wanted to marry him and she's crying over the breakup? Mmm kay. They also broke up because he didn't want kids.

So Alex tells her upfront, like within an hour of meeting her, that he doesn't want to have kids and that he's not a fan of marriage either based on some family circumstances he's still struggling to come to terms with. Yet she falls in love anyway. OK fine. Stupid, considering that she literally just ended a long term relationship over the exact same thing but whatevs.

But then, she has to "break up" with Alex (can you break up with someone you've only known for a day?) b/c she realizes he doesn't want marriage and kids after they go to a Christmas party and she overhears him saying he doesn't want kids. And she acts like this somehow has blindsided her. This woman needs help.

I just couldn't even anymore with the over the top insta-love followed by the goofy breakup, which lasted all of 10 minutes before he saved her from assault and they were not only back together but slept together. Side note - he got out a condom but never put it on.

That was it for me.

This is book 4 of the series but can be read as a stand alone. I read this as part of the Kissed at Christmas book set.

This was a good story but seemed to be missing something. It all happened so fast, in the span of only a few days time and could have been expanded upon so easily and made into a great story. I loved Alex from what little we saw of him in book 3 and was hoping to really get to know him better, but there wasn't time.

Things moved super fast in this story....in the span of only a few hours, Georgie goes from turning down a proposal from her boyfriend to in the arms of Alex and wanting to tear his clothes off. Alex is known as a playboy and confirmed bachelor but all of a sudden turns into a sappy, love-struck fool in a matter of minutes. Things just escalate from there and move even quicker.

All in all, it was an entertaining read. I was happy to see Alex get his HEA, but I would have loved to have seen it take a bit longer cause I really liked him as a character. Since there wasn't enough, it wasn't long enough for me to fall in love with him as a solid character.

The story line was good, I liked the characters, the dialogue flow was engaging, and the descriptions to details where good on what we did have.

All in all, the story was entertaining. Written as a multi pov with a HEA.

Would I recommend this book? Yes

Would I read more from this author? Yes

This was a fun book to read. Alex Cortes lost his parents five years ago on Christmas eve. Every year since he relived the tragedy hiding away from friends, and Christmas decorations or parties at his small beach house. As he was drinking his scotch, he could see flashes of lightning outside, and his lights flickered. Someone had parked outside his house and he was in no mood for company. Alex being the great doctor he was, couldn’t turn anyone away in need. He opened the door just as lightning struck. The young woman let out a high-pitched scream and lurched forward. He caught her in his arms, loosing his balance, and they fell to the ground inside his home. Georgina had the worst day. She just broke up with her fiancé. She spent hours just driving around with no destination in mind, when her old car that she named old Bertha decided to die in the middle of a thunder storm. She got out of her car and ran to the 1st house she saw. As she ran, she was being hit by hail. She needed to use a phone, because her cell phone was also dead.

The cover said that Dr. Cortes saved Georgina, but in reality, they saved each other. Alex enjoyed the time he spent with Georgina. It was the 1st time he enjoyed Christmas eve since his parents died. This ended up being a sweet book.

This story had fun characters but the story line offered nothing new. I guess I am just so tried of books with the theme of "Lust/Love at First Sight", where everything moves so fast, there is no time for any character building. In this book, the confirmed bachelor, Alex, and Georgie, who just broke-up with her year long boyfriend, fall in love in less than 2 days. Not only that, Alex comes to terms with his parents' death, ends his fear of commitment, and is willing to get married. That's a lot to happen in less than 48 hours.

Gentle

That's how I'd describe this romantic story. Georgiana meets Alex one stormy Christmas Eve and it appears that fate has matched them at just the right time in their lives. Over the course of two days they grow close, sharing their pain and grief while realizing how good it feels to be with each other. This is a sweet story; great for readers who prefer minimum angst. I'll be reading the next book in the series!

Everything about this book is awkward, almost as if the author is trying too hard. The conversations seem forced and very fake. The characters have no chemistry, despite lots of protestations to the contrary throughout the book. Even the sex scene and fantasies seem awkward. There was an awkward, random almost rape/abusive scene that was quickly swept away and not mentioned after a sentence or two. I kept persevering with the book in the hope that it got better. It didn't. If anything it worsened, almost as if the editor couldn't have been bothered to finish reading it either.

All porn and no storyline!

Perfectly happy to have a bit of sex in a book but that’s all this book was. Wishy washy plot that occasionally made an appearance between the sexy bits. I got bored and stopped reading halfway through. Only a handful of books I’ve ever not finished but I couldn’t be bothered wasting any more time on this one.

Had some wonderful characters. From young children to very senior citizens, they were all well-developed and quite likeable. Some individual scenes were enjoyable, others less so.

Sweet and sexy

It’s like fate brought them together.
I did find his swift change of heart a little hard to swallow, but it seemed to be a Christmas miracle.
Abuelita was great! Hope she and Mr. Woods get to dance more.

Nothing Christmasy About This

Think a bad version of Pretty Woman set in Naples Florida over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. But in Pretty Woman Edward and Vivian took 2 weeks and not just 2 days to fall in love. Thank goodness it was a short quick read.

Funny, quirky, with a little bit of Christmas magic thrown in for good measure. Just because some men are dogs, doesn't mean there isn't a hero out there for waiting for you.
