When Chelsea Wayne drags Santa into a supply closet for a little office party nookie, she assumes the man in the suit is her on-again/off-again coworker boyfriend. So much for her reputation, not to mention her career.

Rafe needs to close three acquisitions to prove to his father he's ready to take the helm of St. Sebastian Enterprises. A hot interlude in a supply closet after deal number two seems like the perfect illicit Christmas bonus. Compromising Her Position is book one in the series, Compromise Me, by Samanthe Beck. This is my first book by her and I loved it. This is the story of how mistaken identity forever changed two lives.

Chelsea Wayne is the assistant manager of Las Ventanas, Southern California’s premier coastal resort. It is located in the town of Montenido. Chelsea grew up here, grew up in and around the resort actually. She’d been dating the manager of the resort, Paul for several months. But he’d been distant lately. For an early Christmas gift Chelsea had bought Paul a Santa Suit so when she saw him at the Christmas party in the suit, she was more than pleased he chose to wear it. So she pulled him into the supply closet to show him just how glad she was. Only to discover, after she got done showing him, that it wasn’t Paul at all, but the brand new owner of Las Ventanas.

Compromising Her Position - Samanthe Beck

Rafe St. Sebastian (don’t you love that name?) has always only wanted one thing, to sit at the helm of Sebastian Enterprises as chairman. But his father has decided that to show that he is ready, Rafe must acquire three new properties and each sale must be closed and fully integrated. Then he will retire and let Rafe take over. Las Ventanas is the second of the properties he acquired. And what better way to let the employees of the resort know than in a santa suit at the party. Only he was the one who ended up getting the surprise of his life when a beautiful woman pulled him into the supply closet.

After Chelsea’s most embarrassing moment of her life, throwing herself at her new boss, Paul, said boyfriend, dumps her. So Chelsea decides she needs a new start so she moved to Maui to work for a different hotel. Only to soon discover that this hotel is also being acquired by one very hot Rafe St. Sebastian.

“Every single one of my relationships follows the same pattern. I trust. I give. I get dumped. Well, I’m done. The universe has been trying to send me a message and today I received it, loud and clear. I only had to lose everything to finally listen. No more men. No more dating. No more love.”

maui resort

When Rafe shows up at Maui, Chelsea can’t believe it. But this is the new Chelsea. She can enter into a fling, without letting emotions get in the way, right?! She is a modern, strong woman. And Rafe is very, well, everything. So why not?

“What’s the matter, Chelsea? Afraid to be alone with me? Afraid you can’t…resist me?”
“Don’t worry about me, Mr. St. Sebastian. I can resist you.”

compromising her position samanthe beck

Let me tell you, these two together are crazy hot! As the sale of the new hotel is in the process of being completed, Chelsea is put in charge of being Rafe’s liaison. So they are together nonstop. Their days are filled with administrative duties, but their nights are filled with passion. Soon enough, though, that time will come to an end, Rafe will leave, and so will Chelsea. She’ll stay until the sale is complete, and then it will be time for her to move on as well.

sexy

I have the second book in this series, Hard Compromise, but decided I wanted to read the series in order so I started at the beginning. I’m so glad I did. I wouldn’t have wanted to miss this fabulous book. Neither of these two had any intention of letting their hearts become involved but neither of them had much choice in the matter. Your heart wants want it wants, no matter what your brain thinks about it.

It all started with a mistake in identity. Chelsea asked her boyfriend to wear a Santa suit to the company party. When Santa comes around the corner Chelsea tackles him into the linen closet and things get steamy hot. Later when she sees her boyfriend walk in with Santa she knows she made a huge mistake.
When Chelsea goes to tell her boyfriend about her mistake he shocks her by telling her he wants to break up with her and has been cheating on her with another employee. Matter of fact she's going to have his baby. Chelsea feels her life spiraling out of control and can't imagine looking at her ex and his soon to be wife or the owner of the company that she tackled into the linen closet so she resigns and moves away to another resort. Rafe St. Sebastian the new owner of the old resort Chelsea just resigned from and also the man that was wearing the Santa suit wants more of Chelsea so he decides to buy the resort where she's working now. He needs to make sure that she was responding to him and not her ex boyfriend. After some dirt talk and a lot teasing these two start having a casual fling. Neither wanting a relationship or love involved. The fling will last until the resort deal is final and then they will both move on.
There wasn't much to this quick read. I liked both Chelsea and Rafe. The first 60% of the book is mainly these two steaming up the sheets. So I didn't really feel a connection between them. There was some light drama toward the end but nothing much. I was still left not really feeling the love between these two. I mean she didn't even know his sisters name or what she looked like till the end. lol
If you're wanting a quickie with light drama and lots of sex with heat factoring around maybe a 3 this ones for you:))

3 - "I won't bite." Stars.

I think with any book there is a fine line in making sure you balance the story with the sexual encounters. That line is even more important when we are talking about an author of Samanthe Beck's calibre.

"I know what you need, and I'll satisfy you until you're hoarse with gratitude."

There are going to be readers that may have an issue with the way this book started, I wont post a spoiler, as the synopsis pretty much sums up Chelsea and Rafe's initial meeting. To be honest yes it is a questionable scenario, but that wasn't really my issue, what I struggled with is that for a good 65% of the book all this couple really does is have sex. 'Why is she complaining' I can hear you muttering, well because I have high expectations of this author, no argument she writes hot and diverse sex scenes, but in all the previous books that I have read (and loved) they have been beautifully balanced and dispersed in a well rounded and entertaining story-line.

"I found these on my pillow. Much as I appreciate the welcome, I hope the rest of the guests have to settle for a mint."

These two went at it like proverbial rabbits, whilst in the background you have a rather limp ex boyfriend/new lover plot playing out for Chelsea, and what is coming to be the Entangled Special in usual roll-out parental type drama for Rafe.

Sam's writing as always is sound, the innuendo; and boy there is a lot of it, would have been more entertaining if the story had the strength to back it up, but like the sex it just got a little too much. All in all, I just feel the scales were over-balanced on the sex side of this one, and I would have liked a little more story-line to flesh it out.

Who thought the first sex scene in this book was okay to publish? It was extremely problematic and raised issues about the definition of consent. While Rafe knew exactly who Chelsea was, she had absolutely NO idea that she was having sex with him. Never once did he even bother telling her that he wasn't who she thought it was. That is NOT okay. Chelsea should have been given the CHOICE to go on with the sex or stop their activities but she was never allowed to make the decision for herself.

Not to mention, Rafe was creepy as fuck, with the way he kept contacting her friends and family to find out where she was. That's not sexy, people. In real life, you would want a restraining order against this dipshit.

I think this trend of romanticising domineering heroes who dictate what heroines should do, stalk them, eavesdrop on their conversations needs to stop. It's freaking disturbing.

Seriously disappointed in Samantha Beck.

I thought that was quite yummy…

This is a first Samanthe read for me and I’m not sure why. I have her other books but haven’t gotten to them yet, wut?!! I’ll say it off the bat, if all my Entangled Brazen reads are like hers (or Tessa’s, as in Tessa Bailey), you can sign me up ALL the time!

While this started out weird, as in “you seriously were not able to tell that wasn’t your boyfriend question mark times 2” type of weird, the story and the writing hooked me in quite quickly.

It’s a familiar trope with the former then turned potential boss again attracted to the employee. Rafe is the boss bent on proving something to his father, never the one for serious commitment and meeting a former turned potential employee again who somehow got under his skin. Chelsea is the employee, who’s trying to get on with her life with a fresh start but turns out, can’t get very far away from Rafe, and as much as she has this new deal with herself about relationships, which fortunately aligns with Rafe’s thing about relationships, the heart wants what the heart wants ultimately.

Their interaction is smart, funny and HOT *g*. The side characters are just as witty, with the exception of the ex, of course.

It’s a quick read, for sure. And it’s quite a delish read at that. Oh yah, I already mentioned that… Oh Rafe, Rafe, Rafe…

Official Summary:

He's not who she expected, but he's exactly the man she needs…

When Chelsea Wayne drags Santa into a supply closet for a little office party nookie, she assumes the man in the suit is her on-again/off-again coworker boyfriend. Instead, it’s Rafe St. Sebastian, a man known for his hard-driving ways in business as well as the bedroom—and, kill her now, the brand spanking new owner of Las Ventanas—who grants her naughtiest Christmas wishes.

A hot interlude in a supply closet after deal number two seems like the perfect illicit Christmas bonus. Unfortunately, when that “bonus” becomes the key to the final deal, he finds himself back in bed—so to speak—with Chelsea, and after their steamy tryst, he’s not interested in keeping things professional…

What I Liked:

This book had an... interesting start, which many Brazen novels do. I loved Beck's Private Practice, which was one of the first Brazen novels I'd ever read. I definitely trust Beck's romances, so I had a feeling I would enjoy this one. And I enjoyed it I did!

Chelsea's life is pretty put together - she works her butt off at her job, she has a steady boyfriend who works in the same company, and she loves her job. At the holiday party, she thought Paul (her boyfriend) finally consented to wearing the Santa costume, and she's so pleased, she drags Santa into the supply closet. But Santa is waaay too sexy, doing wicked things to her that she never thought Paul was capable of doing. Minutes after the closet encounter, she finds Santa and Paul in the same room... and finds out that Santa is none other than the new owner of the company she works for. Rafe St. Sebastian isn't going to take no for an answer, and no matter how far Chelsea runs from her previous life with Paul, she can't stay away from Rafe.

The first scene of this book was oh-so-hot. A little weird, because Chelsea doesn't even consider the fact that Santa might not be Paul. She put the Santa suit for Paul to pick up, but she knew he hated the idea of dressing up as Santa. So when she sees Santa, she is ridiculously happy that Paul dressed up - hence her spur-of-the-moment desire to jump him. But it's not him - and she doesn't find out while they're doing naughty things. Except that I'm 100% she knew it wasn't Paul after like, five seconds, because Paul is a boring business suit guy who has no passion or chemistry (sorry, Paul).

Rafe, on the other hand, phew, the man is hawt. He gets jumped by a woman in his newly acquired company, but he isn't going to say no, the way she threw herself at him. He didn't know that she thought he was someone else, not until she said "Bye, Paul" in the closet and left. Oops? Rafe is such an alpha, and a domineering leader one, at that. I personally really liked him, although I'm not sure if I would in real life (he is quite bossy and cocky!). But I seem to like the arrogant types... anyway, he's not a jacka**; he's hilarious and cheeky and a bit mischievous!

I wasn't sure what to think of Chelsea at first. She spontaneously decided to have sex in a closet, without checking to see if the guy was her boyfriend... I was a bit weirded out by this. Then her and Paul have an argument about something totally unrelated, and then Chelsea quits, and she gets a job far away. But she can't seem to avoid Rafe, and vice versa. I like that Chelsea took charge of her life and decided to explore new options - including Rafe. I liked her character development!

The chemistry between the pair is seriously explosive! Beck definitely has the steamy scenes of a sexy romance novel down, that's for sure. Each encounter between Rafe and Chelsea was hot, hot, and hotter. Their relationship slowly developed, although the time frame seems a bit short.

Overall, I found this Brazen novel to be a satisfying read. I've had a lot of ehhh "misses" in the past couple of rounds of Brazen reads (with the exception of one or two), but I really liked this one. If the first scene doesn't bother you by its oddity, then you will LOVE this book!

What I Did Not Like:

Read above (or the synopsis) about the opening scene. It didn't bother me at all (again, subconsciously she HAD to have known it wasn't Paul, and still went through with it). The scene didn't bother me much, but I'd like everyone to be aware that it might bother you!

Otherwise, meh, I don't really have complaints. It's a four-star read but not based on number of dislikes, only because it doesn't quite feel like a five-star read!

Would I Recommend It:

If you're a Brazen reader, definitely try this one (provided that you don't think the first scene would bother you). It didn't bother me (and I'm usually a picky one when it comes to steamy scenes with quirks). It's a reaaallllly hot Brazen read, with a fantastic male protagonist, a female protagonist who experiences good character development, and overall a great story!

Rating:

4 stars. Samanthe Beck did not let me down! I can't wait to read more by her. This book is great for the holidays, folks!

A fun sexy read!!!! Compromising Her Position by Samanthe Beck was a book brimming with sexual tension, playful banter and steam. In this quick fast read, Ms. Beck lures her readers in the case of mistaken identity. When Chelsea Wayne accidentally drags Santa into a supply closet during a holiday office party, she was expecting it to be her boyfriend dressed as Santa but it turns out to be her new boss. So when Chelsea finally realized what happened, she quickly resigns from her job when she learns of what her on/off again boyfriends not only dumps her but also informs her that he has impregnated another co-worker. So after reeling from her embarrassment, Chelsea quickly finds another position in another hotel chain. But what happens when Rafe acquires this new hotel? Can Chelsea deny her growing attraction to Rafe? Can Rafe not only prove to his father that he can run a hotel but also acquire Chelsea's heart?

#CompromisingHerPosition

“You didn’t care about anything except my tongue tracing the path of your thong. All the way down…”

Samanthe Beck never fails to deliver to a sexy, fun, playful and steamy read. I have always enjoyed reading Ms. Beck's books and Compromising Her Position is another example of a sweet charming romance with an added layer of steam.

I wasn't sure what I felt about this one up til around the 60% mark, but I think that was more to do with me being distracted than the actual book. Because I did enjoy all of it.

Rafe and Chelsea's first point of contact (snicker) was a rather saucy encounter in a supply closet during the works Christmas party

"When you shove the wrong Santa into a closet and let him stuff your stocking..."

Rafe's ego takes a hit when he realises it was a case of mistaken identity and things go downhill for Chelsea after that. She was a likeable character that was easy to understand and commiserate with. Even arrogant 'playboy' Rafe was easy to like. You don't have to read loads about his past with legions of different women, which makes a change.

The focus is on them and their witty banter right from the offset. That banter really made this book, and while I wouldn't say it was an especially sexy book as a lot of the sex is skipped over, it was still a nice love story.

Santa is a good lay! If you get the chance...boff him in the supply closet! You just might just find your happily ever after. #SantasPeppermintStick #SantaShagging #TackleFuckedNeedsToBeAWord

Okay so the quick of it is that Chelsea is a people pleaser. Life is good until an accidental shagging of Santa at a Christmas party. Then finding out your boyfriend is a cheater and, well, the Santa you thought was said boyfriend was actually the new owner of the company and your boss. Well, until you quit, that is, and someone kinda maybe follows you across the sea. Yeah. Life just got a mite complicated. It really did. And it was so much fun!

hot men, santa clause, christmas
These two! Total fabulousness. Chelsea is a care taker. She wants everyone to be happy and satisfied and she works hard to make sure that happens. She keeps a cool head and is fantastic at what she does. I liked seeing her let her hair down with Rafe and get a little wild. And Rafe. Ahhh I loved him. He's not a play boy exactly but commitment isn't really something he's looking for (or so he thinks). I loved watching him dirty things up, tempt her and do a little exploring with Chelsea.

And Holy hot sex! Seriously. Santa's got some mooooves. Goodness. While not exactly a dirty talker he was definitely a talker and lordy. The things he said and did. Noms! They totally played games with each other but in a hot sexy way. Lots of verbal foreplay <--- *happy shivers*

It was fun exploring their world too as they dealt with each other and some work place drama. She works for a resort in Hawaii that caters to singles and he's wanting to purchase. purchase it. I loved the setting. Seeing them deal with all the behind the scene aspects of the job and some pretty funny issues that popped up with resort guests as well as exploring all the amenities.

All in all, Compromising Her Position was a damn good time. Sexy and just plain fun! Beck totally has me wanting more. And that cover! Sweet Mary.

I've always been a fan of Samanthe Beck's work. Her writing style has grabbed and she's consistently brought her readers engaging, entertaining, sexy romances with great couples. So it's fair to say I had high expectations for Compromising Her Position.

“I intended to stop you, but—”

I can't really put this any other way; I had issues with how this book was opened and the mistaken identity sex aspect of this storyline. Mistaken identity sex becomes a grey area when you know the girl you're having sex with doesn't know who you are, yet you say nothing. If she knew who was actually underneath the Santa-suit, what would she do? She might say carry on, good for her, but she also may say no and that choice was never given. We're entering dodgy territory here and this immediately became a pretty big sticking point for me. (NOTE: A sticking point for me everyone has and is entitled to their own opinion.)

"...once she’d pressed her soft, eager mouth to his, he couldn’t for the life of him bring things to a halt."

description

Had this been an author I wasn't familiar with, I'm pretty certain I would have parted ways at this point, but despite this whole aspect bothering me I continued, and unfortunately I have to say I found the story generally lacking. Samanthe has always brought her readers that bit more; she's written books with stories that are more than sex, with couples who are relatable and quickly endear, and whilst the consensual passion between Rafe and Chelsea was well-written, outside of the bedroom they didn't have that spark that she has so often created and I simply couldn't become invested into a couple who started out the way they did.

This doesn't mean I won't read future books from Samanthe Beck. I will, I have always rated her writing, and her previous books have all been four and five-star reads for me, but in comparison, Compromising Her Position just didn't hit the right notes.

Some days I love to snuggle in with a great billionaire romance novel. They are a fun trend that allows us to dream of hot, sexy guys and forget all of our troubles. This book is set in a lovely resort location and offers a great way to get away from it all and put ourselves in someone elses shoes for a bit.

This story starts out with a bang with Hot Santa that turns quickly into crazy mess for Chelsea the one time she tries to embrace her naughty side. The up and coming executive ends up quitting her job and taking another to get away from the stressful situation and put hot Santa out of her mind only to find that he isn't letting go quite that easily.

The story is full of heat and passion, a few misunderstandings, plus plenty of innuendo and steam to keep you turning those pages. I loved the character development and the internal dialogue that both of the characters offer. Plenty of humor and some sweetness too! This ebook is a fun and exciting read that you will not soon forget!

I really enjoyed this book and I am so glad that I found a new author to follow too. Check out this title and others by Samanthe Beck. I certainly am!

I'm going to start this review off to say that I respectfully disagree and am confused by previous reviewers' impressions of this book. There seem to be 2 issues they have and their comments would have easily swayed me from buying this book if I had not received it as an ARC from the publisher.

1. This is in the synopsis, but the opening scene with "Santa" and Chelsea and the fact she thought she was having sex with her boyfriend. Once I read this scene I quickly realized it wasn't until she was leaving the closet and said "Paul" did Rafe realize she thought he was someone else. No they never met, but I never got the impression he was taking advantage of her misassumption or there was a lack of consent when she dragged him in the closet. If anything, it's a little slutty of him to hook up with someone he doesn't know, but to almost call him a rapist as if he took advantage of her thinking he was someone else... no.

2. A lot of sex for the first half of the book. The closet scene happens in the first chapter. The next sex scene is at the 43% mark. The characters interact and there's a lot of sexual tension, but nothing happens until the mid-point. From there, days are glossed over where they had sex and mentioned in passing, but it's not one sex scene after another.

I really enjoyed this book, found the characters and their feelings to be complex, and especially liked how the book came full circle in the end.

It all starts with a horrible accident! Wait what?! A horrible mix up!

Chelsea is at the Christmas party of the company she works for. She is having a great time and she’s even more excited when Santa comes in. She knows it’s her boyfriend since she’s the one who bought the costume for him and after the super busy month they have had, worried for their project, Chelsea decides to give him a present, herself. So she takes Santa into the closet and has her wicked way with him.

Rafe can’t believe what’s happening but he’s not about to say no to the gorgeous woman who can’t keep her hands off him. It’s not until later when they both realize the mistake they’ve made. Rafe thought the woman knew who he was but apparently she thought he was her boyfriend. Chelsea knows she will have to reveal the truth to her boyfriend but when she’s about to do so, he breaks up with her. Turns out he hasn’t been that honest with her. He has been sleeping with a colleague who is now pregnant and their planning to get married.

Chelsea is shocked. She decides to quit, which she does the very next day and start anew somewhere else. Rafe can’t really forget the woman who made him feel more alive than he’s ever lived. When he finds out she has resigned, he’s determined to find her and bring her back.

I really liked compromising her position. It was a realistic read with realistic characters. I know that a lot of people have a problem with how Rafe and Chelsea meet but keep in mind that no one is forcing anyone. Beyond that the book was a great, honest and realistic romance that doesn’t happen only in books and I really liked that.

Chelsea was really worried about her career but it turned out great for her. When she leaves she doesn’t look back but she really can’t forget Rafe. It’s obvious they want each other and when Rafe finds her their chemistry is electric!

Rafe was young but he was a successful businessman, a millionaire actually, and Chelsea was a woman who just didn’t care about his fame or money. He admires her aloof behavior towards his status but he mostly admires her skills and how devoted she is to her work and he wants her.

Compromising her position was really great. This is the first book I read by Samanthe Beck and I loved her writing. Everything seemed to flow so well; the way they meet, how they come across each other again and how their relationship develops.

This book was amazing and I really recommend it! I hope we get to see Laurie’s story, Chelsea’s best friend.

Samanthe Beck’s McCade Brothers series is one of my favourites from the Entangled Brazen line, complete with alpha male dirty talkers and feisty and fun females. Whenever I see that she has a new release, I’m on it like white on rice. This particular story has an almost vacation fling feel to it, and since that seems to be my catnip these days, I had high expectations for this story.

Chelsea’s plans to get her current relationship out of the doldrums includes getting her on again/off again boyfriend (who is also her boss) to let loose a little and as such she provides him with a Santa suit for the office Christmas party at the luxury hotel where they work, in hopes of kicking up their fun a bit. But when she drags the Santa clad man into a closet for a little pre-party action she inadvertently makes out with a man who turns out to be the new hotel owner. Ready to confess her mistake, it turns out her boyfriend’s been cheating on her all this time with a woman in HR. With a quick sense of self preservation, Chelsea resigns and highlights it out of town and onto a new job at a luxurious island resort, hoping to leave the past with the ex (and the sex with a stranger) firmly where it belongs. Only Rafe can’t forget their interlude and when the new hotel she’s working at comes up on his list of possible acquisitions, he’s not above following her to correct his mistake – of letting her go in the first place. Rafe’s charm is impossible to resist, and Chelsea lets down her defenses, agreeing to a week long fling while Rafe is in Hawaii, with full intentions of moving on before he gets any long term ideas. But while a long distance relationship is something neither wants, it’s not so easy to say goodbye when their time is up.

So…. the opening scene was a bit problematic for me, not in the execution (because hello, smexy!) but more in the ethics of what happened. It’s made quite clear that Rafe knows who he is with but assumes she is single and just looking for a fun time. And Chelsea thinks she’s with Paul and calls him that by name at the end, and only knows afterwards (once out of the closet, literally) that it isn’t her soon to be ex-boyfriend (and Rafe in turn realizes then that Chelsea thought he was someone else the whole time). It’s a bit hard to believe that Chelsea wouldn’t have noticed he was someone else, even in the costume, though the encounter happens quite quickly. I kind of wish they hadn’t gone ‘all the way’ – I would have preferred that they fool around but not get to the ‘endgame’ before realizing that they weren’t both seeing the encounter the same way.

That aside, once Chelsea has moved away from her old job and onto the new one at the island resort, and Rafe has turned out to be the buyer looking at acquiring it, I found their connection believable. The sexual chemistry between them was smoking hot (well established from their first encounter) , and when they are at the resort it’s a fresh start for them. In this beautiful setting and the background it entails (tropical paradise! luxurious sheets!) it’s like a holiday romp with all the good things. Here is where you really get to see Rafe and Chelsea’s true characters. Rafe is a hardworking, conscientious man and while he may be a bit of playboy, he’s not out to take advantage of Chelsea despite how they met. He respects her skills that have made her an asset to the hotel industry and wishes there was a way that they could work together longer. Chelsea is equally interesting as a woman whose naivete landed her in the position she’s in now, and her natural tendency is to protect herself from future relationship hurts. She hadn’t been in love with her previous boyfriend, but even so, realizing how he had used her for his own personal gain makes trusting another man not high on her list. Slowly Rafe is able to convince her otherwise, and I liked how their relationship went from a no-strings fling to something deeper in short order. They do get their happy ending (yay!) and we get a sexy , entertaining romance in return. I think fans of the author, and Brazen book lovers will find this a worthy addition to their shelves, if they can get past the (for me) so-so start. 3.5 stars.

A knock at the door cut her off, and a melodic male voice on the other side called, “Room service.” She froze. Long eyelids lifted and trapped him in a universe of soft, dark velvet. Fuck it, he’d forgotten about their dinner. And now there they sat, Chelsea poised to come any second, and his cock pounding in anticipation.
Reluctantly, he removed his hand from her underwear. “Do me a favor and get that.”
Her eyebrows rose. “You want me to answer the door?”
“I’m in no condition to greet room service. I nominate you.”He rolled his hips, reminding her of his situation. Gauging by the way her breath hitched, his reminder struck a chord, but she made no move to get up.
“I don’t think you really want me to do that.”
The knock at the door sounded again. “One minute,”he called, never taking his eyes off her face. “Why?”
“You can’t be sure which side of the door I’ll end up on.”
Her assertion made him smile. How long had it been since he’d chased something besides a deal? Too long, and a primitive part of him appreciated the challenge, even though another equally primitive part would be in a world of hurt if she actually followed through on the threat.
“You’ll stay. Not just because you want this as much as I do”—to underscore the point he dipped his fingers into his rum and Coke once more, and then slid them along the warm flesh of her inner thigh, and lightly over the damp panel of her panties—“but because if you walk out the door tonight, the next time you spread your gorgeous legs for me, I won’t be such a gentleman. We’ll play by my rules.”

Up-market holiday resort assistant manager, Chelsea Wayne, is sick of being good, and is turned on by the fact that her current squeeze, the resort manager, Paul, has agreed to dress up as Santa for the office party. With it in full swing, she sees him enter her line of fire, and impulsively drags him into the nearest supply closet for a closer look at what he has hiding in his sack.

”David Gandy Naked Santa.”

Rafe St. Sebastian is the new owner of the Las Ventanas resort, and is waiting for his imminent crowning. But to surprise an unsuspecting workforce, he decides to don a Santa suit and join in the festive frivolities, albeit a little more than he originally anticipated.

I’ve read many of this author’s work, and always enjoyed her storylines, her voice, and her ability to wring the most out of her romance input.

But I feel that her decision to open the story with the mistaken identity situation, left me feeling a little detached and uncomfortable, which wasn’t a good start.

Other than that, it did redeem itself, slightly, and I found the romp fuelled story an easy, uncomplicated, entertaining read. Rafe managed to commence the ceremonious cutting of his father’s strings, whilst Chelsea stopped long enough to smell the coffee rather than forever running away.

The secondary characters were a great support, with Rafe’s sister, Arden, playing the rebellious sister well, and Chelsea’s friend, Laurie, enjoying the battering of Chelsea’s barriers a little too much!

Once again Samanthe Beck has captured my heart with a sexy, fun-filled, romantic story that I loved. Rafe is charming and smart and not afraid to go after what he wants. Chelsea is equally smart, loyal, and ready to embrace her naughty side. Their banter and chemistry had me sighing and smiling and rooting for them. I always have the best time reading a Samanthe Beck book, and I admire her way with words so very much. She brings you into the story so you feel like you're right there, and that is one position you don't want to miss.

I absolutely loved this book, especially the beginning was too good, after that I simply couldn't put it down. I loved Chelsea and Rafe and their encounters are always so funny and romantic. This is one of the best romance novels I've read in a while and in addition to that story is passionate as well as humorous. It's a perfect package. If you are looking for romantic comedy with lots of chemistry then this one is definitely a good read.

"Sexy Santa" - was erwarte ich da? Was habe ich bekommen?

4-1/2 stars.

This review also appears on Pretty Sassy Cool.

From the very first page, this book is hotttt...
"I've got a present for Santa and it's not safe for work."

The summary for this book is spot on and if you have read any of Beck's books before you know it's all hotness, all the time. Basically, Chelsea has been having problems with her boyfriend but she decides to pull him into the closet for a hookup at her office party. She thinks he decided to wear the Santa suit he refused to wear before. She doesn't know it's actually her new boss she just shared a super steamy encounter with. Rafe has no idea what came over Chelsea but he's definitely going with it. It isn't until later that he realizes that she thought he was someone else (they didn't talk except to shush each other during their interlude). Now, despite the fact that he shouldn't be pursuing her, he can't get her off of his mind.

Chelsea's life kind of goes haywire after that, realizing her on-again/off-again boyfriend is definitely off again and thinking she's lost her integrity at work. I don't want to tell you what else happens because you really should read it! I loved the pacing of this story. I loved these characters and the way they fell for each other. I loved Rafe--he's cocky and alpha and just gah! I loved their banter and all of the funny moments:
Hello, Santa just spanked you.

Compromising Her Position is a hot, fast read that's perfect for a holiday pick-me-up. The characters are sassy and sexy, the story is entertaining, and the steaminess is off the charts. I loved it!

The beginning was quite the scorcher and definitely a fan-worthy moment. The rest of the story flowed very well and I really enjoyed it overall. You're dealing your typical couple of characters who want some fun times and no commitment. This kind of thing is always fun to read every now and then. Beck did a good job with it. Rafe is a rich, successful playboy and Chelsea is coming off of a craptastic relationship. Their banter was cute and flirty, and when they hit the sack, they hit it hard and hot. I like it when even though the guy is a playboy, he's not a jerk about it. He and those he sleeps with know what they're getting into and they're okay with it. Very mature and a trait I tend to enjoy more in books than those where either party is too clingy or dramatic. He was exactly what Chelsea needed, too. Their romance is off-the-charts hot and I loved every minute of it.

Aside from the romance, I also enjoyed the story. They're in the hotel business and Chelsea is an excellent manager. I loved reading her emails from her staff addressing the crazy antics that some of guests got into/requested of them. It was hilarious. Beck paints a very picturesque scene with them being in Hawaii and in a romantic couples resort. I could see it in my mind and it made me want to get my butt over to Hawaii asap. There was a bit of drama with Chelsea's ex that I could've used more of a resolution from her part, she didn't really step up as much as I had wanted her to in that department.

You really can't go wrong with this book if you're looking for a hot romance on a faraway island. Rafe and Chelsea were perfect together and apart. Beck kept me engaged and interested in the story and the romance. It's definitely an excellent addition to the Brazen line.

Compromising Her Position turned out to be one of those books that gives you a good, solid story with characters that are likable and relatable, then also throws in a nice dose of steamy scenes and a bit of humor to keep you entertained, engaged...and a bit...hot under the collar. This is the first time I've read anything by this author, and I'm pleased to say that this story has me adding more of her titles to my TBR list.

There's a few different tropes thrown in here including boss/employee and mistaken identity, plus the added drama of Rafe trying to please his father in order to take the helm of the family business, as well as his player ways being tamed. I found this to be a nice mix to keep my attention (though those steamy scenes sure did a damn good job of that anyway), and it made for an interesting storyline that has its own unique points.

I liked the characters, especially Chelsea who I found to be feisty and someone who can give as good as she gets. Rafe felt pretty typical for the character type he was casted as, with his alpha male attitude, but still serious when he needs to be. He and Chelsea fit really well together with plenty of chemistry that will have you rooting for them to become a permanent couple. And as for the supporting cast, I found Arden and Laurie to be strong characters with plenty of spirit (especially Arden), Paul to be exactly the ass he's portrayed as, and Cindy to be a perfect "I hate her" character.

A fun and engaging read, Compromising Her Position gets 4 enthusiastic stars from me, and is recommended for contemporary romance fans 18+ due to adult language and quite a bit of very hot, sensual sexual content. Yup, bring your ice packs and fans-you're going to need them!

"Do you always get what you want, Mr. St. Sebastian?"
"Ask again, but call me Rafe this time."
"Do you always get what you want, Rafe?"
"I just did. See?"

I enjoyed this book so much!

Right out of the gate, I knew this book was bound to have fun and sexy humor rolled into a great romance book. I mean, Chelsea got it on with Santa in a supply closet not realizing who "Santa" actually was. That was enough to draw me in completely! :)

From the start, I really liked Rafe. You knew he was a ladies man, but you could tell he was different from what everyone perceives him to be. That one chance encounter with Chelsea wouldn't ever be enough.

"Maybe you haven't met the right girl yet?"
"Maybe I'm not the right guy."

Both Chelsea and Rafe are out to make names for themselves and want to only focus on their jobs at hand. Too bad their minds aren't listening. They can only think of each other...all day, every day.

I liked how no matter how hard they tried to deny their feelings for each other, fate had other plans. The banter between these two was great! They played off one another with ease.

"I've never come so close to anything dangerous before. Other than you."
"I'm harmless."
"You're lethal."
"You like it."

I didn't want the story to be over! I wish there was more!! I also wonder if there will be another book in the series because I think her best friend deserves her own happily ever after...hint hint;)

This book had laughter, lust, emotion, sexy times, and love. Perfect combo if you ask me!

"He didn't believe in fairytales like happily ever after, but if such a thing did exsist, it might feel a lot like this."

I absolutely loved this story about Chelsea and Rafe! Chelsea is at the Christmas party for the company party and her on again off again boyfriend is supposed to dress up as Santa. When she sees him she pulls him into a closet and has sex with him. Then during the party she realizes it wasn't her boyfriend but her new boss.

Chelsea goes to her boyfriend to explain the mix up but he delivers some bad news. He's having a baby and getting married. She resigns and Rafe if out to find the woman who has him all shook up after one time in the closet.

What I really liked about this book is it wasn't really a girl trying to go after a billionaire. Chelsea was smart and did an incredible job in her position. Of course Rafe was a playboy but Chelsea had him all tied up in knots from the first time they were together.

The plot was fun and flirty with a hint of a psycho babymomma and a ex determined to get her back.

One of my favorite parts is when they both get sick with the flu and end up taking turns talking care of one another. You can see the relationship status start to change into something more.

I have never read this author before but I loved the writing and how the story was told. I am definitely going to read more of this author in the future and I hope Chelsea's best friend gets a book.

Samanthe Beck creates two main characters in this story who managed to sizzle the pages in a read that was laugh out loud funny and full of witty dialogue that continued to entertain this reader from start to finish. It was an absolutely fabulous read! Characters that are sassy, sinfully smexy and scenes that never left this reader disappointed at any stage of the story.
I loved Rafe's character right from the unconventional story's start. Straight talking, with so much attitude, cockiness and cheekiness - loved it :D
Chelsea was equally awesome in her honesty, innocence and hilarity. So much denial of her attraction to Rafe and her inner dialogue was hilarious and had me laughing out loud a few times :D Luc and Arden were also an hilarious addition to the story :D
This book just ticked all the right boxes for this reader :D

I love this author and her writing style, so I had no doubt that I would love this book. Which I did. I enjoyed the writing, liked the story and characters, but I'm giving this 3 stars because it failed to deliver in originality. It was like I was reading a book I've read a hundred times before.

I liked that the drama wasn't prolonged, and the sexy scenes... out of this world! Samantha Beck truly knows how to write panty-dropping scenes! Loved it!
