Sin duda, pronunciar el nombre de Brigitte Bardot hoy en día evoca la figura de una mujer sincera, encantadora y a la vez rebelde. La mujer de los mil amores. Una actriz auténtica cuyo estatus de sex symbol no era algo obvio, si bien su forma de transgredir fue probablemente lo que le permitió ser honrada con la Legión de Honor.
En este libro, Bardot se cuenta a sí misma sin esconder nada. En esta autobiografía, se presenta como la mujer que hizo soñar a millones de hombres en todo el mundo: narra abiertamente su fascinante vida, fuera de cualquier esquema establecido. Esto da al lector una idea clara de una mujer que no seguía el guion clásico de una película ya escrita.
Como persona explícita que es, hace evidente su amor por el cine y sus entresijos. Habla de sus amantes y maridos, del sabor de la transgresión que la caracterizó, del sexo, del feminismo —que en esa época fue una tendencia y una moda— y de una divergencia en su vida profesional en cuanto a amistades e ideas políticas. I loved the clumsiness of it. Like reading a teenager’s diary. Not a great writer but a very entertaining read. Nice to read about the French cinema and music scene in the 50’s-70’s.

The book is engagingly written, though at times a little disjointed. On the page, Bardot comes across as impulsive, passionate, and strong-willed. Perhaps the most charming thing about her is her love of naturalness and authenticity — her dislike of heavy makeup, five-star hotels built in place of fishing villages, extravagant jewellery, and elaborate outfits. Tousled hair, a simple dress, bare feet, ballet flats that slip off easily, and a kiss mark in place of accessories — that’s how she preferred to be.
At the same time, though, she is painfully immature. She often drifts with the tide rather than resisting pressure or the inertia of events.
The memoir is deeply candid. Bardot hides nothing and writes about every dramatic event with an almost careless detachment, at times evoking sympathy, at times bewilderment and even anger.
As someone used to reading fiction, I expected character development. But it never came. Page after page, it’s a whirlwind of roles, husbands, and lovers. By the middle, I stopped keeping track of names. Drama after drama, one great love and fatal passion after another.
However, I did find some aspects genuinely interesting:
1. Bardot’s childhood. I know so little about how people in other countries experienced the war, so it was fascinating to see that period through the eyes of a French girl.
2. Her influence on fashion. Curtain bangs, voluminous tousled hair, smoky eyes (she slept in her makeup and simply smudged it with her fingers in the morning), ballet flats, gingham prints — Bardot set all these trends!
3. The social norms of the past that now seem shocking. The omnipresent paparazzi who made celebrities’ lives a living hell. Reproductive coercion. Directors humiliating actors for the sake of a scene — one even slapped her across the face to get the reaction he wanted and at another time slipped her a sedative instead of aspirin to make a fainting scene more “authentic.”
Final verdict: I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this book, but it was intriguing to see the world through the eyes of someone with such a vastly different background and to try to understand her perspective.

Un’autentica attrice il qual soggetto da sex symbol è stato mal impegnato, anche se quel suo modo di trasgredire probabilmente fu ciò che gli permise di essere onorata dalla "Legion d'onore".
In questo libro la Bardot si racconta senza celarsi. Nella medesima autobiografia si rappresentata come la donna che in tutto il mondo fece sognare milioni di uomini: narra apertamente la propria incantevole vita, fuori da ogni schema consolidato così rendendo al lettore la chiara idea che lei non è stata parte del classico copione di un film già visto. Da persona esplicita che è, rende evidente l'amore per il cinema, i retroscena dello stesso. Gli amanti e i suoi mariti. Esimest poolt raamatust oli väga raske lugeda, kuna Brigitte rääkis oma minevikust väga negatiivsel toonil. Ta ei näinud enda ümber peaaegu mitte midagi ilusat. Kõik mis teda ümbritses, kohutas teda. This book is my first contact with Brigitte. This is how I got to „know“ her.
The first half of the book was very difficult to read because Brigitte talked about her past in a very negative tone. She saw almost nothing beautiful around her. Everything around her was terrifying. Her men changed, Brigitte could not live without men, Brigitte was disappointed, moved on. And meanwhile, she didn't want to hear anything about acting at all. Her life consisted only of men. It all turned into a very monotonous and boring text to read. Until Brigitte saved the first animals. Then the content of the book became more interesting to read.
Brigitte used a lot of names in the book, which were ultimately difficult to understand and remember. Some names came up only a few times and then they were forgotten. As a reader, it was very difficult to read. As if she just wanted to mark as many names as possible in his book, so that those people would feel happy or sad that they were marked in B.B's book. I am surprised that she herself remembered all those names so well.
And what happened to Vadim? This question was left in the air for me. How did Vadim react to B.B leaving him? Suddenly, Vadim was left in the past. I understand that they remained friends, but how did Vadim react to this?
But what I liked about the book was the honesty with which she wrote. She told things as they were. Brigitte herself also seemed to be a very honest person, especially when she talked about being a mother. It was interesting that the pictures and the text of the book are very contrasting. Judging by the pictures, she has been very happy in these situations, but in writing, she is very negative. I have the feeling that she wrote the book when she was depressed. Because the book also reveals her mood swings.
This book was really confusingly and simple written. When Brigitte decided to write about something else, she wrote about something else.
She included a lot of deaths of famous people in the book that she was going to miss. What I really liked was that she wrote the book by herself, in her own words. So now after reading it, I know who is Brigitte Bardot. Not what everybody else claims she is.
You need a lot of patience and persistence to read this book, because there basically is no content. It's just going through Brigitte's life. Her daily sadness and also her joy.
If you read between the lines of this book, you can learn a lot from her.

Τις κακίες που είχε να πει για συναδέλφους της άντρες και γυναίκες, για γκόμενους, υπηρετικό προσωπικό.
Βιβλίο απομαγνητοφώνηση - είναι φανερό, μιάς γλώσσας απλοϊκής, με πολλά θαυμαστικά σε πολλές προτάσεις.
Σκληρή γυναίκα, ρατσίστρια, με θράσος και εριστικά σνομπ, ναρκισιστικά ειλικρινής, και αδϊστακτη στον έρωτα είτε όταν ήθελε και απαιτούσε κάποιον, είτε όταν την ήθελαν και απαιτούσε τα πάντα.
Η ειλικρίνεια του βιβλίου έρχεται απο την αδιαφορία της για τους πάντες και τα πάντα. Και φαίνεται στο σημείο που αναφέρει τη γέννηση του (μοναδικού) παιδιού της, το πώς το πάσαρε σε μια νταντά σε διπλανό διαμέρισμα και περνούσε κάποιες φορές για να δει αν ο μικρός την αναγνωρίζει - που δεν.
Ακόμα και τη μεγάλη της αγάπη και εμμονή για τα ζώα τη χρησιμοποιεί σαν ένα είδος εκδίκησης προς τους ανθρώπους. Γιατί, κατά τα άλλα, πατέ της σερβίριζαν και το τάιζε στα σκυλάκια της.
Το σίγουρο ήταν το σεξ απίλ της και το πεισμωμένο, γκρινιάρικο duckface που έκανε ακριβώς μέχρι την ημερομηνία λήξης της: το 1973, όταν αποσύρθηκε στη φάρμα της αφήνοντας τον μύθο να τη θυμάται αγέραστη.

Cependant, j'ai préféré toute la première partie sur son enfance et ses débuts de comédienne que sur la suite, plus jet-set/paillettes et rapidement redondante.

Ce livre m'a permis de découvrir plus amplement la personnalité de cette icône du cinéma français. On se rend vite compte que derrière cette image de sex symbole, Brigitte Bardot cache une personnalité sensible, intelligente, simple et attachante, loin de tous les clichés véhiculés ! J'ai beaucoup aimé lire toutes ses anecdotes autour des films et personnages qu'elle a côtoyés, j'ai aussi eu beaucoup de peine pour elle car sa vie est loin de ressembler à un compte de fée ! Son franc parlé et son humour allègent certains passages difficiles et apportent beaucoup de légèreté. En revanche, l'écriture étonne au début. Elle écrit comme elle parle, avec ses propres expressions, ses gros mots, etc. On a parfois l'impression que ses mémoires n'étaient pas destinés à être lus, qu'ils sont juste le reflet de ses pensées à un moment donné, ce qui donne lieu de temps en temps à des incohérences. Elle se contredit régulièrement tout au long du livre, ce qui peut être déroutant.
En conclusion, j'ai beaucoup apprécié ce livre car il m'a permis de mieux cerner la personnalité de cette actrice que j'adore. En revanche, il ne faut pas s'attendre à une belle plume. À l'image de son autrice, le livre est écrit avec simplicité, authenticité et sans détour.
