From Best Selling Author, Lexy Timms, comes a motorcycle club romance that'll make you want to buy a Harley and fall in love all over again.
Emily Rose Dougherty had only fallen in love once, in high school with a boy her parents didn’t approve of. Emily saw through the tough-guy façade, his leather jacket and motorcycle. She gave her heart to him. An accident on Luke’s motorcycle brought things to a screeching halt when her parents forbade her to see him again.
Neither forgot about the other.
Fast forward ten years…
Luke Wade built a good life as the owner of a motorcycle repair shop and the road captain of Hades’ Spawn Motor Cycle Club. When he reconnects with his high school love, Emily, things seem to be falling into place.
When dirty dealings within Hades’ Spawn, problems created by Emily’s ex-boyfriend and secrets from Luke’s past threaten to blow Luke’s life and his relationship with Emily apart, it suddenly feels like everything spiralling out of control.
Can Luke and Emily find a way to conquer the obstacles to their love or will they be to each other, “the one that got away?”
This is book 2 of the Hades' Spawn Motorcycle Club Series. * Intended for mature audiences only *
Second time reading Much better than the first book. More action all round. Luke and Emily are finally getting together to hopefully stay together if she can just get her crazy ex to quit stalking her. Not even an order of protection deters him. Even caused her to lose her job. Luke finally figures out what is going on with his club and is trying to find a way to get them out of trouble that someone else caused. He decides to break up with Emily again to keep her safe but does it work? Someone dies.. who? Find out who, what reason, where are what they are going to do.
First, Emily.... The love interest of ex high school boyfriend torn apart by her parents, Luke. Then you have crazy psycho current ex boyfriend Evan. Evan is loved by her parents, and yet after having their daughter arrested is still welcome him in their home. Crazy But, no one, not the police, not her sister, not Emily herself has told her parent squat.
***She gets a postcard from Luke after he sees her picture in the newspaper, she goes to his work. A few days later he takes her on a date. They haven't seen each other for 10 years, jump right into bed, okay, maybe I can buy that... But instant relationship! Both have more trouble then they know what to do with! Yep I asked myself why am I punishing myself? I glutton for punishment!**** So, Her attorney is family per se (sisters boyfriend / husband ) but some of the things he tells her is crazy! Evan has a VPO against him for harassing & stalking Emily. She calls the police, they show up to her apartment & he tells them she has been kidnapped and they believe him! This is after she filed a report earlier against him for possible breaking & entering! Now, I'm a cop, I show up and u have a VPO filed against u, u are at her apartment where she called 911 from panicking because u are there.... I'm pretty sure u are going to jail! Correct? Not in this book. Emily is weak, whiney, doesn't tell anyone anything... She tells Luke she doesn't want to see him, but when her sister sees him talking to another girl & tells Em, well she's mad bc he cheated! What? Totally stupid. I hate women who don't ask for help or tell the whole story just bits & pieces.... Never telling anyone anything until after the fact. She was fired, why? She thought it would be better not to tell her boss what was going on & that she was missing work to go to court... Only when she is fired, she spills her guts! Little too late, but from real life experience no one fires u for being late a few times nor calling off work a few days! Not when u haven't missed any work in 5 years.... Unless u don't call it. Playing the victim only when it benefits her.
Just not based of fact, twists laws, makes the victims even more so.... Cops, well it's like a train wreck all the way around! I would love my money back! Just ugh,,,
Anyone who has ever been stalked, abused, beaten up by a boyfriend knows the hoops you have to jump through. I feel like the author didn't really think about this part of the book. Emily doesn't think things are that big of deal, while filing the VPO, I feel like she thought it would help her more in her court case.... (The story is too weak to add this into the book, I felt like she thought it was a joke) She isnt even scared of Evan, that's what gets me. Get ready, the author tries to throw curve balls at you, the story will flip... I was like Hmm.. Can it get any more unreal? Why is this considered a romance? Because she sleeps with him? They say I love you? OKAY
Oh, you have to keep telling yourself she is 28, believe me you will forget. Sorry...
I refuse to pay for this crap. I borrowed this one from someone I know, and this was the final nail in the coffin for this series. It's gone from bad to worse. I refuse to waste any more time on this. End of.
A gritty second-chance romance with all the MC chaos I love.
One That Got Away pulled me in from page one. Lexy Timms knows how to mix heat, heartbreak, and danger in a way that keeps you glued to the story. This book gives you a deeper look into the Hades’ Spawn world—brotherhood, loyalty, and the kind of love that refuses to die no matter how much life tries to tear it apart.
The chemistry between the characters is so good. Their past comes crashing into their present, and watching them fight through all the hurt, secrets, and MC trouble had me rooting for them the whole way. It’s emotional, a little messy, and exactly what you want from a second-chance biker romance.
If you love protective bikers, real-life grit, and romances that make you feel every bump along the road, this one is a must-read. I’m already diving into the next book!
I really enjoyed this book. I was pulled in to the story from the beginning and that is where I stayed until I had finished the last word written. Twists, turns and surprises await you throughout the books, some of the surprises are big some are small and some you will see coming and others you won't, but they all help to make the book the great read that it is. I could feel every emotion that the characters in the book felt and went through them at the same time. I recommend this author, this series but please read book 1 first. This is a series that you do need to read in order. This series is also available on audible.
The second in the series, another fantastic short story. I can't wait to read more in this series, will they get a second chance at love, romance, and redemption. This series has it all plenty of twists and turns, action, romance, intrigue and so much more. This book is definitely worth the time to read.
Didn’t even realize that I had already read the first book and how it needed. Now I picked up this book and boy oh boy was it none stop action. Definitely loved the book and storyline and am getting ready to listen to the next book. I would have given this book 4⭐️ BUT I can’t deal with the way the narrator says “lawyer” 🤦🏻♀️ lol
I could finish it. I do want to know how it ends but it's not worth finishing this book which I assume is also a cliffhanger then 2 more to get to it. I just didn't care about these characters enough.
So I went and got this one after the first ended on some random cliffhanger. This one does too, make no mistake. However, I am so annoyed by the cliffies and the fact that we're just dragging this story out for two more books that I am done.
Emily and Luke can't get a break. Rival Motorcycle Club is trying to kill Luke and anyone he cares about so he cruelly send Emily away to get her out of his life and to safety. Loving this series.
This is definitely an interesting story and one you just can't put down and I highly recommend that you read. Now I have to find out what happens next.

holy grap I must have book 3 in this series. Lexy has blown me away. in book one One You Can't Forget we see emily and Luke run back into each other ager 10 years apart in bk 2 it starts where we left off in bk. 1 Emily is still dealing with her over bearing family and her dick of an ex Evan but Emily is fighting her feelings for Luke she wants him, she loves him but is it worth it, is it worth taking a chance. Luke has vowed to himself hes not letting emily go this time it's took him 10 years to get her back he's not letting her go but what if pushing her away is the safest thing to do. I loved this book seeing Emily and Luke give it a try was awesome but can they handle all the problems and what will Emily do when some truths are discovered. I'm so ready book 3. definitely a 5 star must.
"I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review." Exciting read, Luke is trying to keep everyone safe from the trouble of his past. The may be getting close to him but do no fault of his own. Emily is still trying to make her everyone around her happy with the choices she makes even if that's costing her her own happiness. She realizes at the last minute that its time for her take charge of her own little piece of heaven. Luke's secrets are unraveling and when the truth is revealed, will he be able to keep Emily like he wants to? Can't wait for the conclusion.
I just couldn't do it. Perhaps I've read so many GOOD MC books that I can't help but make comparisons, but I can't finish this. Blame it on the narrator. Blame it on the author. Blame it on myself for being shallow and thinking a good cover = a good book. What didn't I like? The unnecessary details, i.e. Emily having a conversation with her sister, and for some reason we need to know about her changing lanes in the middle of traffic. That's only 1% of it. I tried.
Emily was in love with bad boy Luke in high school. Her parents didn't like him. But when a accident happened her parents have forbidden her from seeing him again. Years later they reconnect & things seem fine but when secrets threatened their relationship can they hang on?
Hurricane readers book review gave me the book for my honest review
part 2, a great 2nd part. getting more of the story behind the main characters and why they split way back. there is quite a lot to this on going story, on both sides. fairly short read in each book but worth getting the whole series so you can just continue on from end to beginning of next. i'm enjoying the whole series but will have to wait for part 4 as its not out yet
I am living this series more and more with each book. It just keeps getting better. Emily finds out Luke is in serious trouble and the is not who she thinks he is. Things take a turn when Luke learns his club president has been dealing drugs with someone who can wipe out all of the Spawn
