My favourite short story as a kid and as an adult.

Wonderful, this is life, beautiful like the heart of Danko and harsh like the feet of the people that crushed it from fear.

Beautiful short story written by Maxim Gorky about finding the freedom. It’s a story about a tribe who lived in a dark forest and a man who saved them and brought to the light. The story is beautifully written and easy to read.

I have the vastly underrated and largely forgotten author, Gerald Kersh to thank for bringing this thought provoking short story to my attention. As other reviewers have mentioned the stunning artwork in this particular edition is phenomenal and really compliments the moral of the story.

Kitabı səsli formayda bitirdim və dinlədiyim zaman təsvirlərlə gözümün önündə cəsur Danko,keçilməz meşə və onun işıq saçan ürəyi canlanırdı.

No matter how brave & caring you are... Ppl still dont care, nor value you.
But still, a hero remains a hero. Only he has the courage to self sacrifice himself for the masses. No one else would do such a thing!

For some reason I didn't really liked the meaning of the stories in the way that they were given. Maybe a little over dramatic for my taste. Not bad, not good either. Felt mediocre as a book.
