Roger Hayden’s best-selling series “American Epidemic” and “The Pulse” accumulated over 150 five-star reviews on Amazon. Now he’s back with his most thrilling survival series yet in “Sleeper Cell.”
A lone FBI agent. An enemy hell-bent on America’s destruction. The clock is ticking.
When a wide network of sleeper cells are activated, America faces a new terror threat unlike anything it’s ever witnessed. Relentless attacks on some of the largest ports in the nation are precursors to an ambitious plan to topple the west and declare a world-wide caliphate. Through years of training, The Islamic State has taken the fight directly to their enemy with untold number of militants living within neighborhoods, cities, and communities, waiting on word to strike. On July 7, 2016, the word came. Explosions. Fire. Poisonous gas. It was only the beginning.
Lost sleep with this one - always a good indicator of a great story! The main character is turning in McGyver of the FBI .. gets himself out of some sticky situations. Got halfway through and found myself terrified that this could all come true in the not too distant future! On to the third book..
If you love thrillers like I do, this book is right up your alley. Even if you don't love thrillers, this book has something for everyone. I really enjoy fast paced books that keep me excited and have me hanging on the edge of my seat. I actually read a few other books by this author and really enjoyed them, so I couldn't wait to read this new one. Craig Davis is a lone FBI agent who is trying to save civilization from terrorists. I thought that the author did a great job with this one and the story was well developed. I also liked how the ending wasn't predictable. I didn't feel that the story ended mid-book and I thought that it had a great ending. I will look for book 2 in this series!
I think Book 1 and Book 0 could have been combined into one book as they are both so short. I did get them free through Amazon. Special Agent Craig Davis gets involved with the ISIS terrorists and has to fight his way through this book. I liked the information given about the sleeper cells, but I didn't like this book as much as it seems Davis is a superhero and can survive anything that happens. Everyone around him gets killed and he survives.
The writing didn't improve with this book. I had hoped it would because the plot is intriguing but the conversation structure and some characters (mainly Agent Davis's family) fell short. I'm not going to finish the last book of the series, it just isn't worth it. It could have been a good series too, if the storyline, characters, and writing all worked strongly together.
This book picks up moments after Book 0 ends. And by now we are drawn to the lone agent who must do everything in his power to save his family and his country.
