MADISON BATES is home for one final summer, desperate for peace after a brutal betrayal left her trust in men shattered. The absolute last thing she needs is Park Foster, a wealthy, witty Chicago steel heir whose DMs are surely drowning in women. She’s determined to keep her distance. But when a boy from high school resurfaces with a dangerous, unhealthy obsession, Madison is thrust into a terrifying game of cat and mouse. Park steps up to protect her, but with his meddling ex and Madison’s deep-seated skepticism standing in the way, trusting him might be the hardest part. Can she let down her guard for the man fighting for her? Or will the shadows of her past destroy her chance at real love?
Took this book on a camping weekend. Opened it on Friday night while sitting next to a fire and finished it the next afternoon. Gates did a great job putting the reader in the center of the story line. Find a lake and a beach chair and enjoy this page turner!
