3.5*, review to come
edit: nüüd tuleb arvustus või midagi sellesarnast vähemalt

Igatahes eeem, huvitav teos selles suhtes. Teose sisu on põhimõtteliselt üles ehitaud oma kire leidmisele ja selle sütitamisele, nagu ka pealkirja järgi arvata võiks how to find it, build it and change your life.
Autor toob palju näiteid edulugude kohta– ideed, mis õnnestusid vaatamata takistustele. Kuid neid mainitakse vaid möödaminnes: neid ei lahata ega analüüsita täpsemalt.
Ma arvan, et see teos on hea hüppelaud ettevõtlusesse, kuid seda rohkem motivatsiooni? tekitamiseks. Ehk teisisõnu sisu on rohkem selline "you can do it" ja "never give up" jms kinnitamine kuivõrd "tee seda ja seda sellepärast et nii on efektiivsem või lähene sellele nii ja nii". Kuigi äris puudub ühene lahendus, ootasin rohkem sellist eeeeeee how to execute on your idea type thing. Samas alustasin lugemist sellise fikseeritud raamistikuga, nii et vahest käis sisu seetõttu veidi vastukarva. Aga jällegi, soovitan tegelikult, kui Sul on huvi hakata ettevõtlusega tegelema.
PS! Autori koostatud online repository(?) tundub päris nutine värk, ise pole süvenenud, aga olen head kuulnud.

This is a motivational type of book that inspires readers to find an idea for a product, project, or business and build it by promoting positive thinking and getting over doubts, fear of failure, and lack of confidence.⁣

In 11 chapters, the book goes through topics such as: brain maps; finding your idea; the difference between ideas, thoughts, and goals; how to turn thoughts into ideas; the relationship between ideas and concepts; the elements of a concept; how to be a "maker"; starting and working on "version zero" of your idea; how to be "resourceful"; stages of learning; the importance of practice; "growth" vs "fixed mindset; the idea's "why"; "iconic actions" (such as where you work, how you structure your business, who you hire, etc); how to build resilience; and the economy of favours. The last section of the book provides a comprehensive list of resources for learning new skills, building the idea, marketing, getting investment, making prototypes, social media, finding experts, etc.⁣

The book contains a lot of inspiring quotes and "creator stories" that provide the experiences of people who have turned their ideas into businesses. The authors provide some simple practical tools and techniques to get started and build your idea. There's great emphasis on the call for "doing it now" with several "Do it Now" boxes in each chapter.⁣

The book is straightforward, easy to read, and provides simple steps to find an idea, develop it, and build it. But, in my opinion, it oversimplifies the process, lacks depth, and is over-motivational and repetitive in its writing style. There’s nothing novel in the book, but I'd recommend it if you have no prior business knowledge or experience and want to learn some basic concepts with a lot of encouragement and inspiring stories that will help you adopt a positive mindset. ⁣

The Idea in You is a nice inspiration for turning your ideas into business. It gives guidance about how to think about your ideas as well as practical tips on how to turn them into a success. Whether their advise works, I don't know. I have not tried.

It's a great book that gives you all the information you need from the first stage of having an idea (how to even form ideas) to the last stage of implementing it. Absolutely loved it and learnt more than I expected. Great tips throughout.

I was disappointed.

Pros(e)
-----

Easy and simple to read

Cons
-----
- not worth reading (more sizzle than steak)
- reads like an advertising brochure for various services

Better resources to read on the internet, and I would recommend 'the lean startup' for someone new to this field.

Will definitely come back to it when I need inspiration, especially for the ‘creator’s black book’ part of the book.

I began reading this book at a time where I felt I was carrying a fresh idea that I wanted to explore further. Much of this book, especially the early chapters, spoke fittingly to what I was thinking an experiencing, both the excitement and trepadation at the possibility of following through with an idea. I love that the writers challenge the reader to not just hone in on one specific idea but to continue throughout life with an attitude of creativity and desiring insight. Rcord ideas down, even if they never materialise, they keep the creative spark alive. I also love the values behind the book, to be one that creates not first for profit but for impact and utility, which should lead to monetary profit. I also loved the idea of dreaming with all 5 senses, something I had never practiced when reading this book. The stories throughout the book were also encouraging and relevant. For me, this book felt relevant and timely to my stage.

Is a brilliant book to inspire and motivate you to act on a dream goal. Mainly aimed at starting a business and some fabulous examples of how current entrepreneurs have succeeded. I did enjoy this and aspects of the book I will use, but entrepreneurs and millennials would probably find the book more beneficial.

If you have a creative passion or business plan in mind, read this! It is an empowering book that brings your idea to life and lets you fight the fear with faith by exploring other successful companies and where they started. My biggest lesson from this is to fail and get up again - you are only human. Thank you so much for all the resources provided too!

Provided a meaningful definition around what it means to have an idea.

The book could have been shorter though as it became more of a list of resources to get you off the ground which should have been added to the appendix section.

Really good book if you need some idea on where to start in business, specially in the UK. Lots of references. Easy to read, I personally love the cover (I know.. superficial).

Very insightful, straightforward and well organised guide. It's useful and full of relevant examples, so you would find it inspiring even if you already know many of the tricks and tips in it. You won't regret having it even if it's just for the collection of resources at the end.

This is one of the few books of this genre that I have actually managed to complete!

It has lots of actionable advice, loads of useful, relatable examples and is written in a easy-to-read way.

I'm in the process of working on an idea of my own and this book has been a genuine inspiration.
