Sometimes it's hard to find a light in the darkness. For 22 year old Brooke, it took almost 3 years attending support group – after attempting suicide – to start to see that light. Thankfully for her, that light in the darkness happens to be 27 year old Matt. Unfortunately, Matt seems to be bringing darkness of his own – his ex girlfriend Crystal. Wanting Matt back, Crystal begins to harass Brooke, pushing her to her breaking point being her only goal. With the darkness closing in on Brooke once again, she has one of two choices: fight for her happiness, or give up and forever remain DISCONSOLATE. Emotional and romantic, Disconsolate gives many reasons to believe there's always a light in the darkness.

Stephanie Kaleto is a young Detroit native currently residing in Mississippi.

As a teenager, her writing bloomed from English class essays to poetry. From poetry, it blossomed into short stories, fan fiction, and more poetry. As she delved deeper into her writing, she realized a love had grown that she didn’t realize existed. Her first published story, a short story entitled “Anniversary Revenge”, was written with fellow author Scott Prussing under the pen name of Karly Aragon. From there, she has continued to write fan fiction, until she reached her first full-length novel, Disconsolate. While pursuing her Creative Writing BFA degree, she took four short pieces she wrote and compiled them to make the publication entitled "To Love and Leave Behind" available on Smashwords. While she hasn’t released anything else yet, promise shows within her that there is plenty more to come.

Outside of writing, Stephanie is a full-time mother to her two sons. She is a bookworm, a music lover, and also enjoys spending time with her family. Disconsolate - Stephanie Kaleto ( 5 Stars )

A Beautifully Tragic story of a young woman's day to day struggle through depression, loss , pain and loneliness and in her everyday life as she finally takes a chance on a relationship , a boyfriend someone that helps her somewhat see the light through her numbness , but she's Consistently rattled with the feelings of him slipping away .
I cant believe this is the Authors Debut novel . She really took me into Brooke's world ,I felt like I was there through every step in her road to recovery , finding Love and trying to stay afloat and not relapse in a world where things are not all roses and rainbows .
I loved the characters of Brooke and Matt they just fit together amongst all the Arguments and drama happening to and around them. Those peaceful , sweet, moments they shared were a breath of fresh air .My fav part was when Matt took Brooke home to meet his family .
There are some sweet romantic parts to this story , but it definitely leaves you an emotional wreck while still reading and well after you've finished the very last page .Keep a Box of Tissues handy , you're gonna need it .

This book was gifted to me in exchange for an honest review. "Disconsolate" is my first ever book by this author. This story is of Brooke a young woman battling depression. Who hopefully one day wants to be happy with herself, life and one day fall in love.
She meets Matt a young man who has just gotten out of a bad relationship after his girlfriend cheated on him.
This book will make you laugh, make you angry and make you cry. I must admit when I first started reading this book I was hooked, it isn't my usual type of book but I am so glad that I got the chance to read it. Stephanie Kaleto is an extremely talented Author, her writing flowed smoothly and it was more like watching the book being played out in front of you. One thing that didn't expect was the ending. But that wouldn't put me off recommending this book to my friends. A spectacular book and it totally deserves more than 5 stars. It's a book that will remain with me for a very long time.

This book is one that will hit all your emotions. It will have you feeling love, sadness, anger, and crying all throughout it. As someone who battles with depression, I can relate to Brooke a lot. Stephanie did an incredible job with hitting the points of what it's like to battle depression. From start to finish, I read this book in less than 18 hours. I never wanted to stop reading it. Now that I have finished the book, it leaves me waiting to read another book by this fantastic author.

Bullies, depression, suicide, love, soul mates, pain, deception, all of this and more is experienced in the pages of this story by Ms. Kaleto. This is my first book of her and I am outdone by the range of emotions I felt during this read. Brooke has "issues", basically she has baggage and that baggage has caused her to battle her own demons. We are shown the way she dealt with them and feel the pain and fight she battles to win everyday. A touching sage that draws on your heart strings and doesn't let go. The intensity of the book grows as you get further along because you find yourself drawn into her pain and daily battle. Then she meets Matt and her world changes or at least it appears to. Great story told with amazing insight into the daily battle against Depression.

OMFG!!!!!

Stephanie is a talented author, I am glad I had the privilege to read her work.

The way this story was written made you happy, sad, unbalanced emotionally and raging mad. I didn't expect the story to go where it went..... Not sure how I feel about the journey in the end, hence the 4 stars.

This story focuses on a real issue faced by many people ANXIETY, DEPRESSION and SUICIDE. I believe this is a story that had to be told to show the real struggles faced by not only the person living with these issues but by those who love them as well.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO PEOPLE WHO LOVE A STORY THAT TOUCHES ON GRITTY TOPICS AND IS INTO NON-TRADITIONAL STORYLINES!

Oh man.. I don't even know what to say. This story was very very good. The writing was good and I enjoyed the characters. I loved reading about real problems and people and real situations. The ending though.. oh man, I was mad. But, it was still good even with it being the way it ended. I am very glad I got to read this one.

This book is a great read. The end ripped my heart out. Brooke and Matt finally found true love in each other. Brooke had many trials to overcome. Matt in my opinion was the man that could help her. Give this book a try. Also reviewed by Heather Ann's Book Reviews.

I read this book with tears in the eyes, the author is based on a topical subject: harassment, she tells us the story of Brooke 22 years old, and its history particularly touched me even pained because of the end. see my full review on my blog: myreadbooks.over-blog.com
