Beau Watkins and Vin Reyes have mended their differences, but that doesn't mean that everything is back the way it was. When Beau's teenage niece shows up with her son in tow, Beau is thrown unexpectedly into a world of adult responsibilities and adult decisions, all of which could have disastrous consequences. Reconciliation with his family is complicated by an overseas internship with a predatory business woman.
Vin still struggles with his alcoholism, with finding his place in a world after college, and establishing relationships with his newfound father and sister. The last puzzle piece of Vin's mysterious past is clicked into place when he comes face-to-face with his mother's ex-fiance. His relationship with Beau has never been stronger... until an unexpected email threatens to topple everything they've build together.
Lynn Townsend is a displaced Yankee, a mother, a writer, a dreamer, and the proud owner of a small black hole residing under her desk that tends to eat kittens, odd socks, staplers, and her car keys.
After finishing Classic yesterday I'm caught in this weird muddle of mixed emotions.
One the one hand I am so, so, so happy to see that my boys (Yes, I consider Vin and Beau my boys even though they were created by another)back together and making it work. There were moments throughout this trilogy that I feared they would drift apart. My old ticker may not have been able to stand a permanent break I kid you not.
Now to my other hand. That one is filled with sadness knowing that I won't have any more books dealing primarily with Beau and Vin. I truly fell in love with those two. I cried and laughed and screamed at some point in every book of the series. When an author can pull those kinds of emotions from me then they are doing their job and then some.
Ms. Townsend has crafted a wonderful M/M romance trilogy. Each book is compelling and powerful, sexy and sweet, funny and sad. Classic is a perfect conclusion to one of my favorite contemporary M/M series ever. I wish Vin and Beau the best of luck and I thank Lynn Townsend for sharing her skill, and her men, with us.
: I have been waiting for this book for so long. I was not disappointed. This is the third part of this series and I do suggest you read them in order. The stars of the show--oops-- I mean book--are Vin and Beau. Vin is graduating but not sure what he will do. He has enough money he will never have to work, but his grandfather wants him to work in the offices with him. Vin is also struggling with his alcohol addiction. Beau is dealing with the arrival of his niece Lisa and her baby, and has made a commitment to go in fall to work with Tiffany. His job is to play as her boyfriend whenever she wishes and be her personal aide. I will say that Lisa and Zach stole my heart. Lisa being such a young single mother is a very tough little girl. And who doesn’t love a cute baby. I think this is the finale of the books, but I will say I hate seeing the end of the series as I loved Beau and Vin so much. Maybe someday we will see them grown up. (Hint hint) There is a lot going on in the story. I love that this story deals with so many real life issues such as teenage pregnancy, abuse, Alcohol abuse, being disowned for being gay and all of the other issues that can arise from being gay and young relationships. If you like a poignant story of youth and life, love, romance, battling alcoholism, teenagers with children and an allover beautiful romance…this is definitely for you!
When I read stories I try to find something that I can focus on if I am not getting into a story but this story had so much drama and angst I couldn't really focus on any one thing because my head was spinning haha. I haven't read the others in the series, maybe that would have helped my enjoyment. This just wasn't for me.
