The Call #1

The Text

Rate this book
Reagan Winters just got out of a relationship. Her brothers are hell-bent on protecting her from every guy in the vicinity, and have been since their parents died fourteen years ago. She starts to secretly fall for two men. One is a total stranger and the other happens to be one of her brothers’ best friends.

Elijah Stone is a successful thirty-one-year-old lawyer. His parents are still trying to get him to settle down with the “princess of the snobs” from their country club. He has no intention of giving them the satisfaction. In fact, he intends to stay a bachelor for the foreseeable future so he never has to subject any woman to his family.

Their lives are altered one evening at the hands of today’s technology. What happens when an Accidental Text brings their lives together—and who is lurking in the shadows to take it all away?

This book is the first book in a trilogy and is told from both Reagan and Elijah’s POV. It is recommended for a mature audience, 18+, due to the language and some adult content.

Ok- so this BA Cubbage has quickly become a favorite of mine. I love a good hot romance. And Cubbage does not disappoint. I waited to review these books because it was a trilogy and none of them stood alone, she left each book hanging at the perfect moment. I loved her attention to detail. The call was the innocence of her characters. So many romance books delve into a fantasy land, Cubbage kept it real, down and dirty in the sheets, and deep and heart felt. Once finished I needed the next in the series right away.

Such a good read

I’m not one to read romance novels. I’m a syfi fantasy kinda gal. But this story had me on the edge of my set and the cliff hanger left me wanting more! So excited to read the next book!

Abraham is dreamy

Terrific story full of found family and a cinnamon roll hero. I love best friend’s sister trope and this has that in spades. Sexy scenes were very sexy and the suspense kept me turning pages. Will have to grab book 2 to see how this resolves.

Maybe

I chose three because it was good the first two pages, but the story is dragging. Reagan is a,little childish and self centered. The characters cursed a lot and all Reagan and Abraham do is be intimidate which I just skip and go to the next page or so. Once in a while Chis the villain will pop but otherwise that's it. No life is given to other characters, how they are as a person maybe a,little description. It's all centered to Reagan and sometimes it's not funny anymore, like it's all about her. Not for me. Sorry ,disappointed.

Be Warned It Ends On A Cliffhanger

It all started with a wrong number and took off from there. Elijah aka Abraham is a hard-working lawyer, but underneath his free shirts he is a muscular tattooed bada$$. When she isn't working in the tattoo shop Reagan works as an X-Ray tech in the hospital. When they finally get together it's sizzling hot and it's a miracle that the world doesn't burn around them.
The story has humor, romance and suspense. It's a very good story except it had a cliffhanger ending. Other than that it's worth the read.

Good read

Good read for a rainy day. Nice progression to the story and moves at a quick pace. Very enjoyable beach read. Love the characters personalities. Easy to get lost in and forget the world
