This book has step-by-step instructions for making 7 different dolls from 6 different materials but no patterns that you trace or photocopy.

There are a lot of interesting tips in the book, such as using balsa wood to strengthen a paper doll for play and display. The idea of drawing that paper doll by hand makes me nervous. If you’re more adventurous, or confident in creating your own patterns, give this book a try.
