Vividly descriptive, spin chillingly suspense filled, Blood Enchantment is a highly intense dark fantasy.
From the first page we are ripped into a visceral world with gruesome battling for survival. Death and destruction abound as different species fight for the right to continue. While some are evil, none seem to be so insidious as one of the demonic.
Mostly dark and desperate, this story is not for the faint hearted, although it does contain touching moments as well as tenderness and compassion.
I felt like I was holding my breath for hours or ran a marathon, Blood Enchantment really got my blood pumping.

Are you ready to go through Hell and back with Tamara Rose Blodgett in Blood Enchantment? That’s where Ms. Blodgett is taking us as the chaos of her world begins to grow sharper, edgier, more intense, more dangerous. Among the betrayals there are promises kept and the Singer Queen must stand for her people, decide what path to take, knowing it will affect everyone she knows, everyone who counts on her leadership. But how can Julia do that while still locked away in the name of protection?
Praile’s evil is running at fever pitch, the vile demonic knows no limits to depravity. Is no race safe? Ms. Blodgett gives the spotlight to so many favorite couples, so many characters as they face danger and possible death. Pay close attention, there are many voices to hear, many instances to piece together as each event unfolds into the larger portrait of love, war and survival.
As always, Tamara Rose Blodgett adds vivid scenes, in-your-face action and some of the most earthy and realistic dialogue between characters, ever. For me, this is one of her greatest strengths as the characters come to life through more than their actions, but their thought processes and the words they use. Always riding the edges of any genre she writes, Ms. Blodgett seems ahead of the curve in uncovering new and unique worlds and conflicts.

Julia’s story is one that you do need the other five to truly understand. Other than that the others tie into each other but don’t really need all the past books.
This really is several stories in one book. We have Julia and Scott and the danger they are in. If they don’t soul meld properly their lives are more in danger. Adi and Slash where they mated but were attacked and he tries to protect but does something silly. Their ending is odd and wondering what is next for these two who only are safe because of true love. Than we have Drek and Tahlia. Will she forgive his moronic butt and is he going to come out of the demonic issue alive? Of these it is Slash and Adi’s story I love the most. They just warm your heart with what they are going through. But if I need to fall for anyone’s story it is Lazarus. Right now I am disappointed in this demon. Sorry half demon. He seems so earnest and kind. I hope that he fights the bond Praille has on him and fights him for Tessa. Only time will tell us what will happen with that explosive couple who to me truly belong together. I do believe that she is his Redemptive and he better fight.
Their are many POV’s in the book and you jump continuously between the different stories. Sometimes this blurred the lines because one underlining character for all was the demon Praille. So at times you were wondering which story you were in. Also within a POV you would switch to the other characters thoughts not getting enough time to grasp what the other was feeling or just as you began to understand bam the switch and you would start over again. This isn’t to say the stories overall weren’t interesting or good just that you never really got to get a complete feel of each story like a regular book. this was more a serial of stories in one and all the serials tied together in one way or another.
The characters will bring out some form of emotion. For me Lazarus and Slash were my favorites. I love Slash’s love and protectiveness for Adi. How he would give up everything for her and love her no matter what. Lazarus because he was trying to change. He was demon but helping Tessa and Tahlia. He didn’t hold on to prejudices like Tessa did. I just hope he fights to continue on the right path. After these two Scott was next. I love his unwavering support and unconditional love for Julia. He showed her strength and kindness but also love and passion. Now is Drek. His possessiveness but also respect for woman was great. His pack though didn’t do it for me. they were hypocritical in their ways. Adi and Julia are next. I love Adi’s sweetness and how she shows her emotions to you. She just is a open book and has you feel everything. Julia because of her maturity but also kindness. Tahlia is next for me because she is a paradox. She is the royalty but doesn’t act like one. She has her own mind and speaks it although she does carry herself with an air of authority. I love how she defended Lazarus. Tessa was next for me. I love her sassiness and fierce independence. Her stubbornness and not trusting nature was her downfall. She could definitely take care of herself but her constant pushing people away hurts her. I do hope Lazarus doesn’t prove her right about not trusting and shows her she is right to let him in. If not I hope that he gets a can of whoop opened up on him.
the stories are fastpaced and full of danger. They tie into each other because each story overlaps. All this is taking place in Julia’s region at the beginning where Tessa and Tahlia are. they fight of the crazy Tramarck and Lazarus protects them. Than these three are off to find safety after fighting Praille. Meanwhile Julia and Scott are in safety for the time and coming together. Somehow Tramarck and his men took down Slash and he did something stupid to protect Adi. Adi than reacts and gets in trouble with Lanarre after her. She throws them off her trail but that danger still lurks. Drek is searching for Tahlia and she ends up with his pack but not in a good way. There is confusion there and that is leading to Drek having to decide things. At the same time Lazarus and Tessa are coming to a head and Praille is showing his colors. This now brings a peak to the plot and I do hope Lazarus isn’t an idiot in the end. Slash is off to get Adi again and that turns out to have unexpected consequences and we see true love playing out.
Each story is a interesting entity in and of itself and shows us about love, trust, loyalty and bonds. We see danger, intrigue and get a history of the players and people along the way. the writing is fast paced and keeps you invested although sometimes it is hard to keep up with the changing POV’s and stories at times. The characters have you feel and bring you into their world and keep you there. A book of fast paced interesting serial stories that tie together and leave you wondering what is next for these characters and how will they survive the evil that has surfaced.
Blood Enchantment is another wild, relentless plunge into Tamara Rose Blodgett’s supernatural chaos machine — and once again, I feel like I’m reading from the outside of a locked bunker window while everyone inside screams, fights, dies, resurrects, and monologues about bloodlines. I’m closer than I’ve ever been to fully connecting with this series, but I’m still not in it. And yet… I can’t stop. I HAVE to know what happens, even when it physically pains me.
Julia is crushed — spiritually, emotionally, cosmically — trapped in the Singer bunker while Praile wreaks havoc on her people. The demon spore is eating away at what makes her angelic, and the whole book has this suffocating “countdown to catastrophe” energy. Julia and Scott are stuck in forced protection, waiting for the next disaster like characters in a supernatural pressure chamber.
Meanwhile, everything outside the bunker is falling apart. Adi and Slash are caught by corrupt Were. Tramack is slithering around wanting things he absolutely does not deserve. Tessa and Tahlia are running for their lives. Lanarre royalty is circling like predators. Drek is out here deciding whether to free or cage. And Lazarus? He might crawl out of hell only to fail spectacularly in the pursuit of forbidden fruit.
It’s a LOT. It’s ALWAYS a lot. This series has never heard of pacing; it just sprints through supernatural warfare like it’s late for an apocalypse.
The lore deepens. The stakes rise. The alliances twist. The betrayals multiply. And the emotional weight is heavy — but the narrative still skips around in ways that leave me scrambling to catch up. I want to be immersed. I want to feel the emotional core. Instead, I’m hovering just outside it, trying to grab onto something solid before the story jumps again.
3 stars because: It’s intense, dramatic, and undeniably addictive. But it’s also disjointed, overwhelming, and emotionally distant in places. I’m invested, but I’m exhausted. I’m confused, but I’m committed. I’m hurting, but I’m turning the page anyway.
Because at this point? I need answers. I need closure. I need to see how this supernatural fever dream ends — even if it breaks me on the way.
Beautifully written, vividly graphic, heart grasping, dark and intoxicating...It's prodigious, fun, yet forbidden and sinfully exceptional! A must read! - Nook Books and More Blog
The book gives you countless POV so you can follow each one with ease and really enjoyed it because I was able to see everything from each persons perspectives.
This world continues on its emotional roller coaster and bleeds into your heart. Be prepared to experience all emotions. You will not want to put this book down.
This series puts an amazing twist on such a diversity in the paranormal world. It explains the battles that all diversity struggle with even in their world. I found that interesting. This sixth book in the series brought characters together that needed each other in so many more ways than even we knew. There were promises made and broken, love fulfilled and betrayed. We see our heroine continues her journey.
But wait the story doesn't stop there! It seems, no matter which direction the these characters seem to turn, someone or something is trying to come between them. Though sometimes they put it on themselves, the journey is epic as it continues to play out! The twist and turns are phenomenal. I couldn't put it down!
Questions are answered, and there are sweet tender moments that have you smiling and thinking, "It's about time!" It's still dark and fantastic journey of the characters we haven't been introduced to yet. Some of the character we thought could be trusted have turned leaving devastation in their wake. It gives you a sense of WTH? lol It's so freaking epic! I can't wait to continue this journey into Tamara's wonderful mind!
The twist and turns never seize to amaze me and Im floored by the next. I'm going to love this journey and in my opinion, I would suggest anything this lady writes!
This book was an absolute delight from start to finish! "Blood Enchantment" masterfully blends gothic atmosphere with an enemies-to-lovers dynamic that kept me utterly captivated. The suspense woven throughout the paranormal romance and fantasy elements created a truly unique and thrilling reading experience. Tamara Rose Blodgett has crafted a world that feels both richly detailed and intriguingly mysterious. The characters are compelling and well-developed, and their interactions crackled with tension and undeniable chemistry. I found myself completely invested in their journeys and eagerly turning the pages to see how their story would unfold. The paranormal aspects, particularly the werewolf lore, were seamlessly integrated into the narrative, adding another layer of depth and excitement. The pacing was excellent, balancing moments of intense action with quieter, more character-driven scenes. If you enjoy books that offer a compelling blend of gothic romance, thrilling suspense, and fascinating paranormal elements, then I wholeheartedly recommend "Blood Enchantment." It's a truly immersive and satisfying read that has earned its place as a new favorite!
She will be bound by fang, claw and blood, the kiss of the moon on high against where she lays to sleep. The queen shall bear the mark of the peacekeeping Singer....Your blood calls to us. It sings to us. We follow it like a melody on the wind. All roads lead to the Blood Singer. This girl. The Blood Singer from the Book of Blood. The Rare One. In the absence of hope, darkness bloomed like a black orchid.
Since this is the first time I have read this series, I am reviewing it as a whole (books 1-8), rather than each book. WOW! What a truly FANTASTIC series!!! This series is my soap opera, in all the best, juciest ways! So addicted! Need to know what’s happening and NOW! :) I was thoroughly addicted, caught in its grip, unable to put it down! I love, Love, LOVE how Tamara Rose Blodgett weaves such an intricate story complete with love, heartbreak, heartache, passion, friendship, enemies, lovers, allies and oh so much more all while seamlessly integrating so many characters to love & hate (sometimes both!) who belong to any one (or more!) of numerous species but done in a way to keep the reader engaged and following along, incorporating them without even realizing just how many people you now know & follow! It’s in depth in all the right places & ways and has such deep, dark passionate tones, as well as the lighter, happier sides too, that are all brought together so perfectly to make one helluva unique and creative series! I am blown away by the multitude of species and their abilities both as a whole, as well as what each individual is capable of! Each and every aspect & piece of the story brings layer upon layer of enrichment from complex characters, scenery, flow of the storytelling to the compelling storylines! Love the vernacular, quips, quotes & wording that fits for each character and/or species, meaning that the teens or "young'ins" speak & act as they should, while the "old" ones speak as they should, which adds an even deeper layer of "realism" to the story & characters. It was so hard to figure out the "good guys" from the "bad guys", (which is a great thing!) but what chafed me the most is falling for one that I was so sure was worthy of my adoration, then finding out he is total scum!! LOL But that is why I love, Love, LOVE Tamara's books! Her ability to write & create such deeply enriched books that capture my attention, drawing me in so deep that it feels like I am living the story, being surprised by every twist & turn that I never saw coming, really meeting & becoming friends (or enemies) with the multifaceted characters, becoming said characters, seeing every single bit of it in my mind’s eye, time after time, book after book, series after series, no matter the genre, is proof of just how phenomenally talented and exceptionally gifted Tamara Rose Blodgett truly is and why she is one of my absolutely favorite authors to read & binge read!!
Blood Enchantment (The Blood Series Book 6) ~~ If you like emotional payoff, this book delivers it. Julia faces the consequences of everything that’s happened since book one. Scott and the other key players all have their own arcs that finally start tying together, and several of the long-held secrets blow wide open.
This book feels darker and heavier, but in a good way — like the story is finally maturing into what it’s been hinting at all along. The battles hit harder. The betrayals sting more. And Julia is forced into decisions that shape not just her future, but the future of every creature in this supernatural world.
I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself — you won’t regret it
I was really enjoying this series until the last book and this one. The last book was saturated in sex which really isn’t what I was after in this series. I choked down the last book because I wanted to see what happens however in this book I couldn’t even make it halfway through. It was nothing except sex this and sex that. Ridiculous. It almost felt as though a different author wrote the other books in the series and a new author wrote the last one and this one. Couldn’t stand it. Stopped reading halfway through and never looked back
This is a series I couldn't put down. Books 1-3 were free to download and I didn't hesitate to buy the rest. With lots of twists and turns, it keeps you hooked and wanting to know more. It's took me less than a week to get through books 1-6 and I'm excited to find out how it's all going to end in the last book. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
I read all seven books back to back - now I wish I didn't have to wait until next year to see how it all ends. They're are so many different things going on. It'll be hard to remember it all!
If you like werewolves, vampires, angel-enhanced humans with powers, demonic, angelics, and fae, this series is for you.
OMG. What an unbelievable book this was. I am now on book 9 and it is just as good as the rest. Young Love. Death. The Rare One. Were. Vampires. The Feral. Blood Singers. Lots of humour amongst the blood and gore. And hot hot s----y stuff. Where on earth does this author get her imagination? Brilliant series.
*A complimentary ecopy was given to my blog, by the Author, in exchange for an honest review.*
One, I'm #Fangirling. Two, I'm applauding the Author. Three, I'm in complete awe of what I read!!
I know when I read Angelic Blood, it was a massive cliffhanger, one you couldn't stop thinking about. One that left you in tears and more questions left unanswered, than what you started out with. I felt helpless, hopeless, sad, and downright angry. Even after ALL that, as I finished Blood Enchantment, I said to myself, "The Author just re-invented her series. We're no longer #YA but #NA!!" Just WOW!! As there are other characters' stories, they tie in with the main character, I would advise you start from the beginning. Kind of ironic I'm writing this on Easter Sunday. Renewal, Rebirth, and all that Jazz. However, it was kind of like that with Jules and Scott. They came together, and now they're stronger than ever, but awaits them next? Adrianna & Slash...oh my heart bled for them. It's kind of nerve-wracking to wait to see what their future might hold. I am a sucker for their love story, though. I think my favorite, would have to be Tessa and Laz. Crazy, sexy, and very deceitful. Tahlia is a badass. Period. And when her and Tessa team up, they kick ass. They are very different from each other, but as females, in this universe, it makes being a female a vulnerability. They connect through that bond. And it was really great to see that flourish. I'd just have to say that I am extremely thankful my heart was put through a meat grinder this round. Things seem new, mature, and yet, they seem totally the same with the hurt, loss and the betrayal. Although, I did finally find the one thing I didn't have in the book before. I have hope. Hope that maybe the tides are finally turning for the good guys.
4.5 stars, but rounded to 5 as it is my favorite novel of the series!
FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY! Scott and Julia do the deed! Adrianna and Slash are back together and Lax, Tessa and Tahlia make it to the sanctuary of the Lannare. Only it turned out to be a prison. While Scott, Julia and Victor are stuck in the underground bunker while the battle rages topside, they FINALLY commensurate their soul-meld, officially becoming King and Queen of the Singers. I was very, very happy to see that the sex wasn't alluded too and that we were given good details. Scott is such a babe. Adrianna is running while Slash is trying to catch up when she goes into heat. Other Lannare males arrive and try to breed her when Slash arrives and saves her. They escape, but Adi's friend, newly turned Jenni, has vanished. Tessa, Laz and Tahlia are being held captive by the Lannare for various reasons, the most important being that they think Tahlia is an imposter. When Drek finally arrives back home, the place is chaos. Tahlia's cousin Tanya arrived there a week prior, posing as her. Only Drek can scent his mate and the pack reactions poorly to T, T and L. Drek isn't sure which one is laying. Tanya would make the better mate, but he is drawn to Tahlia. She gives Tanya to him and escape before Drek realizes that Tahlia is his true mate. Tessa is fighting her heat. Drek wants to mate her to one of his mates since females are so scarce, but she doesn't want any male but Laz, but has her reservations about him as well which comes to a head when Praile arrives. So is Laz a good guy or a bad guy? Guess we have to wait until book 7 to find out what happens when Drek tries to save her, but is distracted at the last moment and his cover was blown. Come on Laz! Be a good guy and kill Praile or at least side with the Singers! I want Tahlia to find happiness as well.
Beautifully written, vividly graphic, heart grasping, dark and intoxicating... This sixth book in the series brought characters together that needed each other in so many more ways than even we knew. There were promises made and broken, love fulfilled and betrayed. We see our heroine begin her journey, through this edition, in the bunker where the last book in the series ended. She has decisions to make that will change not only her life but the lives of those around her. She is, after all, the Singer Queen first. None of her decisions are easy, and they are made more difficult by the loss and heartache she's had to withstand.
The story doesn't stop there. We have two mated werewolves who have been attacked and need to figure out where their lives are going, whether together or apart. It seems, no matter which direction they turn, someone or something is trying to come between them. Sometimes, the blame can only be turned on themselves.
Then, there are the two female were, one of them Lanarre, who are threatened with yet another cage, whether it is a prison of werewolf making or a prison of the heart. What becomes of Drek, the Lanarre king? Is Lazarus telling the truth in his declaration to Tessa?
Questions are answered, and there are sweet tender moments that have you smiling and thinking, "It's about time!" But, make no mistake. This is dark romantic fantasy, involving strange and fantastic characters we haven't even met yet. Some of the character we thought could be trusted have turned leaving devastation in their wake.
For every question answered, another one or two take its place. This is how Ms. Blodgett leaves us every time. Once again, we wait on the edge of our seat for the next installment. It can't get here soon enough!
