As ever Bonnie Edwards packs a sweet, short punch in this Christmas Novella! I think I've read them all totally out of order as I've read Invitation to Christmas and One Crazy Christmas already. This story prequels both of those giving us the story of how Miranda and Kirk met... but it really doesn't matter as they are all fantastic stories in their own right.. it was wonderful to go back and find out what happened at the beginning to bring them together. It was a warm story with plenty of heat that I've become used to in Bonnie's stories, without the need to get down and dirty. The sizzling scenes certainly don't 'fade to black,' far from it - but they are sexy, hot, erotic and real ! Showing warmth and passion that I love so much in all her characters. There are some wonderful moments of joy and the hope of a later in life romance without the need for drama. A grown up relationship handled in a grown up way, feel, tell and find a way to move forward with compromise! no messing around, no games. As always with Bonnie Edwards this was a 5* read for me !
Not So Blue Christmas by Bonnie Edwards is just a wonderful, heartwarming story about love the second time around. It is about 51-year-old widower, Kirk, and 47-year-old widow, Miranda. They meet when they are both still in the grieving process but are able to help each other through it. This story proves that love is not just for the young. It’s definitely a feel-good story.
This was a fantastic quick read. I love it when the story reels me & doesn't let me go. You know it's a great book when you can hardly tear yourself away to eat dinner. In fact I ate dinner as I read. If you love a heartwarming story that gets you all mushy, this is the book for you!
I really liked this book. Cute heart warming story. The only thing I didn't like is the sudden ending, the story jumps from December to September, and then ends. I would like to have had more of the story in between those months.
Being a widow myself, I found the characters easy to relate to, and to feel with. Sad in a way, the book is well written , the story is fun, and there is something to be said about learning from the past.
It was engrossing to read about strangers wallowing in misery after losing their mates and the discovery that they might be ready to move on. Only this time with an emphasis on making changes to include what would make them happier with their lives.
Kirk and Miranda have both lost their significant others. Kirk decided to set sail on his boat and just get away for a while. Day after Day a dog comes and visits him but won't let him get too close. One day the dogs owner penetrates Kirk's hard shell enough to get him engaging with the human race again. Kirk and Miranda develop a friendship that leads to second chances at love. The 2nd book in the series involves her daughter and his son. A good, quick read and look at second chance love.
This is a very well written story and the storyline is very good but I got bored when I was reading it. I dont know but this story simply didnt catch me in like so many other stories like this I have read.
The story, enviornment and characters is very well created and feels natural and some how real but not as real and perfect as I would prefer. I dont know how to explain it but it feels a bit… to much… and to unreal… With everything…
The problem can be that I cant relate to the characters and I think when you cant relate to characters or the story you dont like it so much, I think a lot of people would love this story and appriciate it very much, I am unfortunatly not one of them. This is NOT a bad story at all, it is a good one but not one of my favorites.
Kirk, widower, and Miranda, widow, are both still recovering from the loss of their spouse. When they meet, they both decide to explore the attraction that has developed between them. Since Miranda is going to be alone for Christmas, she invites Kirk to join her. I enjoyed this story very much. It kept me interested with just the right amount of dialogue and description. I loved the sweet way the author brought these two together. This is about new love found and the importance of having family around at Christmas.
Not-So-Blue Christmas is a delightful second chance romance written by author Bonnie Edwards. I received this book through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Always a delight to read when two older people who have lost a loved one find love again. With the help of a dog and Christmas, miracles and love came about.
Me Edwards has created a warm, funny and endearing love story. Second love can be as rewarding as first. Different but just as good. A very endearing story.
