Rate this book
An act of rebellion, Marin doesn't think that running into the new store in town will hurt anything. Her aunt will never know... right? One car wreck later, her aunt is hospitalized, Marin is forced to spend her twenty-first birthday fighting for her life, and magic - the very thing her aunt has always sworn to be for fools - is real. And so is the irresistible Fae dedicated to Marin's protection.

Kyland has searched Earth-side and all the other realms, looking for a missing Fae child. A child his Queen prophesied would be able to one day save the Fae people from the Danshue, as the evil Fae threat tries to overwhelm the entire Supernatural Community. A child that would know nothing of her blocked gifts, or her Fae heritage waiting to be claimed. A child that has grown into a curvy, delicious morsel he would love to taste

Together Marin and Kyland will fight Fae assassins, overcome betrayals, and if they're lucky ... they will find the Danshue responsible for their plight. That's if Marin doesn't shock him to death with her erratic new gift, and her out of control emotions.

I am a country-twang gal from the bluegrass state. Kentucky is a hot bed of horses, cave systems, and whiskey. And I love all three. With my pugs and bossy kitty cat, I spend my days writing and working social media. I write with the help of the voices pushing me to create worlds for them to live in. Fantasy Romance, Contemporary Romance, and eventually some cowboys (because cowboys live in a group all there own, yummmm) are the genres that I love best.

In 2005, a serious case of Multiple Sclerosis ended my higher education as I strived to finish my mathematics degree, wiping away all my beautiful numbers and a large portion of artistic talents that I had taken for granted most of my life. After a few years, my beautiful words started to come back to me. Filling my days and nights with imagined worlds helped me to cope with my newfound reality. I am currently working with Mary (my publisher) at http://gonewritingpublishing.blogspot... Each day I find that getting sick has helped me to find my passion.

Fun fact: My granny had enough Irish to embody the term ‘fiery’ and my papaw had enough Cherokee to suggest they move their family to a reservation … This did not turn out well for him, not when gran apposed the idea, butttt that is a story for another time. So palest of pale, and red all year round … what did I get from that genetic pool??? Ha. I turned out to be pale skinned, but I don’t burn in the sun the way granny would have. And no matter how much color I seem to gain during the day, I wake the next morning back at square one, whereas my papaw had wonderfully tanned skin even in the midst of the darkest winters. boo… lol… now at 34, I don’t even try. (not to mention that my MS detests being out in the sun)

What I did get from these wonderful people??? A love and a need to create. She could design a quilt, bake up wonders, paint and draw with ease, and surround the home in masterpiece gardens. Okay, my thumb is more black than green, but have enjoyed accomplishing all the rest. Though my favorite lies in oil paints. As for papaw, he loved to sing, filled notebook after notebook with his poetry, and had a tendency to create personalized rhymes for strangers and friends alike (sometimes against their will, while others asked for the right). My entire life, he called me his songbird. And would asked me (shy little me) to preform. Poetry is fun, and something that my mother taught me how to do early on, but I truly believe that a piece of my soul would die without my voice to sing the melodies in my heart. (just please let me do it at home and not in front of strangers :P)

Judging by the author bio at the back of this book, Tracey Clark is obviously a very bubbly and charismatic personality, and this is evident in her writing style from the very beginning to the end of this entertaining Fantasy novel. Her storytelling technique immediately pulls the reader into her world of Fae who struggle to live in the everyday real world. This approach intrigued me right away because there was not too much out-of-this-world Fantasy to get familiar with, and the situation of the main character, Marin, not even knowing that she is a Fae Princess with tremendous powers also adds to the suspense and interest as the story unfolds.
Another prominent and positive feature of this book is that the author skilfully expresses thoughts and feelings from the two main characters: Marin and the man she is destined to be with, Kyland. In fact, this novel is also a beautiful, deep and intense love story, quite apart from the problems caused by Fae curses and helping Marin to understand and believe who she really is.
This book sets the scene for more books to come, and it is quite a lengthy book which took me some time to read, mainly because the writing style is engaging but also intense at times, so that you cannot skim through or skip anything. It is an involving read, but a very rewarding one for both Fantasy and Romance lovers alike, and I’ll be looking out for the sequel to this book!

Pure magic from beginning to end....

What a wonderful find this book was. From the first page through to the last, Tracey Clark had me enraptured with both her storyline and her writing talent. Her combnation of both the Fae and Human world was simply beautiful.

Marin Yarthine has lived the first twenty one years of her life without love - thanks to a cold, hard hearted Aunt. But fate takes an unexpected turn when her aunt is hospitalised after a car accident. Marin discovers that she is no ordinary woman, she has magic within her, a secret that has been kept from her.

Kyland Marcuson, is a man on a mission, to find the missing Fae Princess. What he finds astounds him, magic buried so deep that he almost fails to see it, a Fae almost totally consumed by her Human side.

What ensues, when Marin and Kyland meet, is one of the most beautiful love stories that I have read. Full of fantasy, suspense and intrigue, the pages literally swept me along on a wonderful journey of love and self-discovery.

This is a definite book for lovers who want to escape to another world. One which will thoroughly delight and enchant you. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series - Southern Discoveries. Ms Clark as captivated my imagination with this series.

If you like to read about the magical world of the Fae, then you are in the right place. This is a thought out and planned story that takes you deep into the underbelly of a world not celebrated enough in my opinion. This is quite the adventure about a woman coming to her own and discovering who she is in a world that she didn’t know existed.
Marin is guided by the ever present Kyland, her guardian and possible soulmate. As she learns by fire that there is another world that surrounds ours, she must navigate her new-found powers and must determine who is her ally and who is her enemy. With a cast of characters that will make you smile and at the same time want to smack some of them. They are full of everything you want to read about.
This was a beautifully written story that captures your imagination and places you into a world of magic and mayhem. I love paranormal books and this is an author to keep your eyes on for she may make a huge mark on the genre.

Marin Yarthine has lived with a cold and indifferent aunt all her life. The woman has never shown her the slightest bit of affection, but is her only family. When a hit and run driver deliberately targets them Marin suddenly finds a strength she never knew she had.
Kyland Marcuson has been searching for the Royal Fae princess for years. He did not the expect to find her essence buried so deep that she appeared human.
This is the beginning of a series where our heroine suddenly has to face a world she did not know existed and her own awakening powers that cause her a lot of problems. Our hero is bound to protect his princess, but there is a much stronger bond forming.
A full length book that will involve you in the characters lives. There is quite a bit of danger and fun to be had. You will definitely want to read more.

Shocked that I loved it!

I rated it 5 stars because that was the highest choice! Also I'm a Ky. girl too. My daughter and the author's mother have been friends since childhood. I was not a paranormal fan, but wanted to read this book because of the author. I am happy that I did because from the beginning, I was hooked. I neglected some stuff to get it read, just couldn't wait to know what happens next. Very well-written,great story. I like a story that just flows from page to page, and chapter to chapter.

I don’t read a lot of Fantasy novels; not sure why because I usually enjoy them when I do. Shocking Finds is a very enjoyable read. Shocking Finds is the first book in A Finder’s Keepers series.

Tracey Clark has respectable storytelling skills that plop the reader right in the middle of the magical fantasy world she creates. I am pulled into the story from the first chapter and easily visualize the scenery, events, and feel the love as it grows between the two main characters. I did sometimes feel a little lost and re-read sections because I feel like I’m missing information.

Shocking Finds is about Marin Yarthine, a young girl raised by a mean, cold, unloving aunt. The poor girl doesn’t remember feeling any love or tenderness in her life. Her aunt is injured in a hit-and-run accident that leaves Marin on her own.

Kyland Marcuson is in search of the missing daughter of his Queen. He knows Marin is the Fae Princess. He also knows that Marin has powers that she doesn’t realize. Her powers are a danger to the human world and the Fae world if she isn’t careful.

The love story between Marin and Kyland evolves beautifully. There are sweet moments and tense moments as they work together to figure out their roles in this magical universe. My only criticism is that there are times that the story moves slowly. There are so many things going on that my head starts spinning. I’m sure this is the groundwork for the future books in the series, but it is better if some of the questions are answered or not presented until later books.

I’m looking forward to where Ms. Clark is going to take us in the future books. Even though sections are slow moving there is a lot of action. The potential for the future books is great, and I’m looking forward to where this series takes me.

Ok where to start? I'm a sucker for paranormal and romance. This story has both in great combination! We meet marin and as you've probably already read she knows nothing of her gifts. She is fae/human but her gifts are so hidden she's become mostly human. Her aunt has raised her and wow she wasn't very loving to say the least. At the moment where most young adults are questioning who they are Marin is finding out she's a lost fae princess with immense powers. Kyland comes into the picture. He has been looking for her for years. Instant attraction!!! He not only has to explain who she is, what her powers are , how to use them but oh hey we belong together!! This was an awesome story . I can't wait to read the next one in this series.
