Missy and her friends have convinced government officials that using supernaturals can indeed be managed. Such activities must of course be disguised or kept secret. The greater concern now is whether any enemies of the U.S. might have supernaturals and, if so, how to deal with them.
Meanwhile, Missy enjoys day-to-day life back at the academy until learning a mob war puts some of her friends at risk; she once again confronts the local crime boss only to end up helping him. Thank goodness she has discovered a new and unique special ability which she can use. Then, that ability becomes especially needed when terrorist threats against some target cities in the U.S. are discovered.
P. G. Allison has always loved stories about female characters with special powers (Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Bionic Woman, Batgirl) along with stories about witches and werewolves. The Missy the Werecat Series is about a girl growing up with no pack, no pride of other werecats and no Alpha; Missy is a girl with fantastic abilities doing great things in today's world, amongst humans. Other books in this paranormal, new adult, urban fantasy series have Missy going on to West Point and eventually serving in the Special Forces.
Good series. Well planned and edited. Too much sex for me. I prefer romance. Has romance too. Interesting new talent in this book, seems logically possible for a shifter but original idea.
Even if I like the series, I've some issues with theses books. My main problem is the discrepancies between the tone (with silly reaction, lot of laughs, etc.) and the situations described. And, Missy powers are secret but almost everyone knows about them !
Furthermore, even if Missy is special, she's in the army and her interactions with the officers ring false. She's way to confortable with commanding officers, always laughing and not acting like a cadet!
I was very interresting with the initial idea, the way the author deals with all the problems. But now, the story needs a stronger backbone.

I read the first book in the series awhile ago and really enjoyed it. Good characters. Good story line. Lots of wonder on how Missy would adapt to firstly being a werecat and then a young girl. Everything worked out. Fine. Then I just binged books 2 through 5. Not so happy now. On the good side Missy is doing well. She is a success in everything she attempts. No teenage angst. Good support group that helps her and that she helps. On the negative side. She is a success in everything she does. No imperfections. Plus there is so much repetition or retelling of past events. Even though everything she does is top secret she tells everyone everything with just asking a promise not to tell. Every time a couple has sex it’s the best in the world. When I was nineteen I didn’t hit a home run every time. 🙁 With all that said I still like the characters and the stories. I will read the rest of the series but I’m taking a break now. I do like the premise of the series and the writing style. I will come back but just a book at a time with space in between.
My review is based on the audiobook. Following Missy's journey is a thriling ride that I don't want to end. I keep thinking there is no way it can get better and then it does, This is a fast paced series with characters that you can't help become invested in. The narrator does a fantastic job bringing the story to life with perfect pacing and easy to understand and distinguishable character voices. I look forward to more in this series and from this author and narrator
My favourite genre of books and this was a new author to me. I read the whole set and even though they got a bit samey towards the end, I really enjoyed them. I liked the way the characters recurred in each book, even if the book focused on one person the others were also in the background, it was as though you got to know them. Don't expect anything too different or deep and dark but they are a light, fun read
Another installment in the life of the werecat witch and West Point cadet Missy and her supernatural friends. Simple writing but enjoyable though as Missy keeps getting new powers in each book I fully expect she will be a Super-Saiyan by the end of the series. j/k More foreshadowing in this book of terrorist organizations taking notice of her and her abilities for future stories.
While I read this series I find myself skipping. You get tired of re-read the same thing over and over . You don't have a straight story, you go back and forth repeating what you had already read, skipping around. Itwould be a good book if it was condensed to about half the chapters. Sorry
While in Afghanistan over Christmas vacation to help rescue Candace, Missy is wounded and received the Purple Heart. WIJO a terrorist group is trying recover face by setting up for multiple attacks in the USA over Thanksgiving holidays. Never happening.
The number of people who know about Missy and her skills keeps expanding through friends, family and the government. Her abilities also keep expanding, enabling her to do increasingly amazing things to help both individuals and military/government missions. Fun read.
Really like this book it advance the characters. We got to see some characters from the previous books and got to learn more about them. Also got to advance the main plot line in a logical and understandable direction. As always, great read.
This is the fifth book in the series and seems a little disjointed at times. It ties together by the end, but at times I wasn't sure who was who. Again, it worked out in the end, but the previous books were ( in my view) better laid out. Still a good story though.
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading about Missy and her friends. She is a strong young lady learning about herself and her abilities. It would be nice to be able to compartmentalize different emotions and memories.
This book really expands on Missy's power and her evolution as a witch, a very powerful supnat. Reading about her adventures and relationships with her loved ones is definitely addictive.
Except... Too many people know about this group of people and what they can do, what their abilities are, yadda, yadda. The only way two people can keep a secret is if one of them is dead.
Missy's talents are becoming more powerful. New talents are discovered and just in time. I really want this series to go on for many years. It just keeps getting better and better.
This book will make you feel about good versus evil is a great day for the good guys have won. There are ten books in this series and it is the same character in this book series.
The characters are fascinating and the storyline is engaging. I gave this book 5 stars instead of 4 because I appreciate the author toning down the explicit sexual relations between the characters. My prior book ratings have been 4 stars. Keep up the great work.
I just finished all the current books in the series, and I can't wait for more! Very original characters and situations fit current events. Believable supporting characters and situations. Just enough spice to make it fun, too.
What more can happen with the supnat group!! Terrorist planning to set off explosives at 3 Thanksgiving Parades!! The group are trying to find them before it can happen!!
This is book five I just love these books. Nothing like any paranormal book before. The things Missy can do bigger and better as she grows up. Great read.
