Who is this book for? This book is aimed at all the brilliant people out there who have fabulous products and services but who struggle to promote themselves through shyness, introversion or a mistrust of the marketing process in general. It's aimed at people who want to find success on their own terms, boost their confidence, get a clear sense of direction, overcome blocks and barriers (real or imagined) and connect effectively with others. The book shows how to: * See your quietness, introversion or lack of confidence as a strength - not a weakness. * Choose platforms for self-promotion that you can feel comfortable with. * Deal with difficult situations - like networking meetings - differently. * Create strong relationships with customers and collaborators that will sustain your business. * Lead with your values - create empathy with - and trust in - your brand. * Let people discover your strengths without shouting about them.
Very helpful. If you are a creative type who prefers to just do your thing, but know you must do something in order to get your thing in front of others who might then buy, commission, listen, watch, read or use your stuff … this book will help you to see ways that are within (& perhaps just outside of) your personal limits. I’ve just finished the book - I read it slowly just a bit at a time, thought deeply, undertook the exercises & thought some more. I have many notes & ideas, but I’m going to read it all again! It’s a supportive & friendly, encouraging book which I enjoyed very much!
Fantastic advice for introverted and shy business owners
Excellent book filled with tips, supportive and reassuring yet determined to get us out of our shells bit by bit. Really enjoyed it and a lot of things to work on!
I realised about 40 pages into this that I was not the intended target audience. I was reading this as someone lacking in confidence, but not looking to promote a business. As such, it was not all relevant but there was some useful advice on public speaking and confidence. I am pleased that I read it.
I loved this book. I work with authors and many of them are quiet and introverted. They don't like promoting themselves. Mosley's book is a manual for how people who are uncomfortable being promotive can overcome. Great read.
