After the Dying Time II: Gray's Heart

Rate this book
The world is a quieter place these days. Many years have passed since the dying flu swept the world.
The families on the three ranches still have to watch for danger; from nature, animals and man. They have to be constantly on vigil against attack.
Rose Fairbanks who had been rescued from the Huns is now living on the Rice ranch with her new husband Alan Rice. She has ceased getting into trouble; at least as far as she knows. She doesn’t know her future is about to change; again.
On the Wolf ranch Gray Wolf can’t get Rose out of his mind; he still loves her but tries desperately not to show it. He is striving to overcome his upbringing by the Huns. He has so much to learn.
Gilbert Wolf knows life can change quickly. Any decision in life can make changes; a right turn and you die a left and you live. He can see some turnings in the future but doesn’t dare tell the participants what their future holds. But he must keep these visions to himself and try to direct the outcome as best he can. He doesn’t know there is another doing the same thing.

Book two of After the Dying Time. The story picks up not too long after the first book. Rose and Alan are happily married and the rest of the ranches are moving along with their lives. Gray is growing in spirit and worth. He truly appreciates life and the people who have adopted him. His only regret is the loss of Rose to Alan. Rose had still not fully forgiving Gray's actions as a former member of the Hun's and her capture. Gilbert is continuing to have several visions that assisted the ranchers, but there are a few details he keeps to himself and watches as they play out.

A wonderful continuation of Rose, Alan, and Gray's stories. I love these families that banded together to survive and thrive after such a difficult disease ran rampant through the world. We also get to read about other bands of survivors, wildlife attacks, and pillagers.
