Sentencing Sapphire by Mia Thompson is another wonderful addition to Stalking Sapphire series.

This time Sapphire is not the only one who does the Serial Catcher thing, there is another and she does not just catch she is also judge, jury and executioner and she does not want Sapphire to come back to spoil her fun. So when the blue eyed cop brings Sapphire back ... there are some who are happy about it and some who see it as a threat.

Sapphire was afraid to return and all her fears were well justified, as all the things she was expecting to happen, happened and now she has to prove that she has not gone over the fine line of catcher and killer. It's not done easy for her as there is the one, the one she has subconsciously looking all the time, and now he is there and he wants Sapphire to join him. But she would not be her if she would not find time to play some games with her competitions, with Ashton, with her mother and her mother's life coach and the story keeps readers on a edge of the seat till the end.

Once again the story is filled with hints to a pop culture and jokes about lifestyle of rich and famous. This comical criminal mystery romance is an very good read!!

This whole book was quite predictable (I guess that's to be expected since we already knew what it was going to be about.) Maybe it was because I read it so soon after Silencing Sapphire but I didn't enjoy it quite as much as I did that one. And there was too much of Aston (I didn't like so much of him...well him and Sapphire together, actually...in previous book either. I like them quite a lot on their own.) After the initial book, this series just turned formulaic and with each book the things I actually looked forward to kept decreasing significantly. This series should have ended by now.

That being said, I'm going to take a break from Sapphire for a couple of years. Maybe come back for the next years after I've forgotten about these two (still won't be as excited though because I do remember enjoying Stalking Sapphire immensely. This one, not so much.)

Pick this up if you're interested in about what happens to Sapphire after the end of the previous book and about her past. Otherwise, choose something else.

WHAT THERE'S MORE? But I think this is a great conclusion to this story but let's see! More books means more Sapphire and Aston moments, more action scenes, more serial killer schemes, and more dry humor. I liked this one yet I think the twist are common nowadays? And it's a first time that I knew the ending before even starting this one. It's just an intuation. Wow.

I really enjoyed this. I'm not sure if this is the end of the series or another chapter, but I'm happy with the way this ended and how it tied together loose ends from both of the previous books. A very satisfying third installment.

I hate reading books more than once, but this is a book that I don’t mind reading again. Sapphire is an amazing character and as the story progresses, you can see how she grows up with the experiences she faces. Aston...he’s different in a good way. He’s extremely blunt and can come of as rude and hilarious—in the end though, he is someone who will be there for you. As far as the plot of the book, I absolutely loved it. For every chapter I was on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what would happen next. The book had always left me guessing, and has done so through the whole series. With each chapter I felt as if I was a part of the story, and I’m so glad I stumbled upon the book series.

With a mixture of humor, romance, and mystery, this series has easily become one of my favorites. I can’t wait to read the next installment.

If you're looking for a deep, dark, psychological thriller about chasing down serial killers this is not the book for you. However if you're looking for an easy, funny, exciting read with some mystery, romance and a lot of action this book is perfect.

This is the third book in the Sapphire Dubois mystery series and one which I've been anxiously awaiting for ages. It seems like forever since I read Stalking Sapphire and Silencing Sapphire and I have been semi stalking Mia Thompson ever since to find the release date for this one.

The story starts with heiress and serial killer hunter Sapphire Dubois on the run in Europe following the events at the end of the last book. Free from the constraints of her old life and reputation she's enjoying not having to live a double life and can hunt serial killers to her hearts content. Her thoughts and dreams however keep wandering back to Detective Aston Ridder and everything she's left behind.

When she finally decides to return home it seems her secret is out and she ends up in jail accused of murder and obstruction. She has to try to clear her name but to make things more difficult a copycat serial catcher is on the loose and Daddy is back and looking for Sapphire to join the family business (murder).

It had been so long since I read the first two books that I'd forgotten what it was I loved about them. However this was clear pretty much from the start of this instalment in the series.

Sapphire is a great character. She's another kick ass heroine, intelligent, tough, independent, with a great sense of humour and a smart mouth. She seems to take most things in her stride from her latest run in with a killer to her completely crazy family and friends.

I have to admit though that Aston is my favourite character. He's rude, curses pretty much non stop and I'm not sure how much thinking he does with his head (as opposed to other parts of his anatomy) but he does make me laugh. He definitely gets some of the best scenes and one liners. Notable examples being his choice of outfit to a masquerade ball and the morning after the night before when he wakes up at his bosses house.

In addition to Sapphire and Aston there are a lot of great supporting characters including Aston's partner Barry Harry, billionaire heiress (and Sapphires BFF) Chrissy Kraft and possibly the thickest man ever John Vanderpilt. The stereotypes are played to the max and it's absolutely hilarious at times.

The plot itself is fast paced and exciting and as well as all of the laughs there is a lot of action. It is a who-dunnit as Sapphire has to figure out who the copycat is and try to figure out her father's riddles and I have to admit it kept me guessing throughout.

Overall I thought it was a great read and would recommend to anyone who likes a mystery that doesn't take itself too seriously. I'm off to stalk the author some more until the next one comes out.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

**Disclaimer: I have received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.**

Sentencing Sapphire is the third novel from the Sapphire Dubois Mystery series written by Swedish-born Mia Thompson. (Note that I have not read the first two books at the time of writing this review.)

Twenty-something Sapphire is not your typical gal: not only is she a Beverly Hills heiress, but she is also a serial catcher, i.e. she hunts serial killers as a hobby (I prefer reading myself) before handing them over to the local police force. In this third instalment, we follow Sapphire as she has fled to Paris after her latest adventures, where she has shed her rich persona and lives as the infamous "Serial Catcher." When Beverly Hills police detective Aston Ridder tracks her down, Sapphire returns to the US to find her home town in chaos: a new vigilante has taken over her old job and will stop at nothing to get her predecessor out of the way.

I must admit that I was expecting a cotton candy chick-lit after reading the official blurb for this book. However, I could not have been more wrong! Despite the fact that the series would indeed be targeted towards a female audience, the adventures of Sapphire Dubois are so much more than chick lit and pink fluffy romance.

Yes, there is romance between the two main characters, Sapphire and Aston, but it is subtle enough that it is not constantly thrown in your face and does not take over the narrative. More than that, there is a real gripping plot with gruesome murders, serial killers carrying syringes filled with nasty things and a villain vigilante trying to get rid of the heroine. This alone should satisfy fans of crime fiction.

But what really clinched it for me was the exaggerated portraits of spoilt, super-rich Beverly Hills people and the omnipresent humour: airhead socialite Chrissy Kraft fires employees faster than her own shadow (even when they are not her own employees) and is totally deluded about the world she lives in. Likewise, there is great banter between the two leading men, detective Aston Ridder and officer Barry Harry, which is reminiscent of that between Jake Peralta and Charles Boyle in the American TV series "Brooklyn Nine Nine."

What of Sapphire Dubois herself, you might ask. Well, her thirst for hunting serial killers is motivated by her inner demons and personal history (which I will not divulge here). I cannot speak for how she is portrayed in the two previous books in the series but, in this latest instalment, she is racked with guilt and doubt, unsure who she really is, thereby making her a more believable character than the MMA fighter/serial catcher/Beverly Hills heiress she is.

All in all, a very good surprise for me. I actually bought the first two books on Amazon as soon as the words "The End" appeared on my Kindle. Definitely an author to watch for me!

To say I was EXCITED when I saw Sentencing Sapphire on NetGalley would be an understatement. I have been waiting somewhat patiently for Mia to release this one since finishing the last book.

Sapphire got her self in a lot of hot water at the end of Silencing Sapphire so I was curious as to how this book would head out. Wow, there were a few twists and turns in this one that I didn't see coming. Some I did though.

I loved the on and off again chemistry of Aston and Sapphire. Also the mystery side of this book and the cat and mouse antics was really clever too. I admit I had my suspicions half way through who the 'Real' one was and did get it wrong!

There's laughs along the way, sadness and a lot of confusion for poor Sapphire in this book. However, there is a really good ending and can I add I loved the whole 'decision' thing near the end - I did a happy dance!

Also before I end this review, cannot wait for book #4 now, what a clever epilogue! Bring it on Mia!

4 stars, I have loved this series and am yet to be disappointed by it. If you like a fun chick-lit mystery with a kick ass heroine, then you have got to try these books. Sapphire is so much fun to read about and Aston, well you will either love him or hate him (Can I add, I think there should be more Barry time!!!).

Read this in one sitting, Sapphire stays true to her character, a head strong, intelligent woman, but sometimes I would so like for her to ask for help, then again, she is no damsel in distress. Loved this one, cant wait for the next two instalments. Congratulations, some authors draw their series out and it just gets worse but Sapphire and Aston just get more interesting.

An excellent series, I love the humor and I love how Sapphire is always in trouble. Poor Aston always has his work cut out when it comes to wealthy heiress Sapphire and this book is no exception.
