Gabriel

This is a continuation of "Deliverance for Amelia".

WARNING:
If you’re looking for a knight in shining armor, a princess or a fairy godmother, then this is not the story for you.
This is a dark novel. Read at your own risk.

Gabriel:
I hate the word yesterday, just like I loathe
the idea of tomorrow.

Where would I be without them? Not here. Not anywhere.

Because, where I am dwindling away in the madness is neither
here nor there.

My mind is my tormentor, and I am the masochist.

No-matter how I justify it - the blood will always be on my hands. The shadow that lingers wins. He always does, and he will eventually lead me to my demise.

All in due time.

The truth will soon be uncovered.

So Messed Up!

The second book in the 'Killer' series, 'Gabriel' tells the story of Gabe's son. While the story does shed some light on his childhood, through a few brief flashbacks, the book is primarily focused on his adulthood. Yes, little Gabriel is all grown up now.

In case you're wondering, the Apple didn't fall far from the tree. It seems that Gabriel has the same murderous desires that his father has. He tries to justify his killings, arguing that they are mercy killings for suicidal women. However, the fact remains that he enjoys killing, just like his father.

When he takes Dani, he has no idea how she will change his life. Terribly abused by her father throughout her childhood, she is finally starting to stand on her own two feet and make something of her life. Unfortunately, poor Dani just can't seem to catch a break.

This book has more twists and turns than you can imagine. The past and present collide and nobody will be the same. I don't want to give anything away, but nothing is as it seems.

Like the first book, this book is dark. There is lots of blood and gore. So, if you can't handle that, this won't be the book for you. If you enjoy the dark and disturbing stories, like I do, then you might want to give this one a shot.

***** 5 AMAZING BEYOND THE DARKNESS STARS *****

First off....Miss Bonny Capps....HOLY SHIT GIRL....you wrote one hell of a series full of twisted darkness!!

 photo meryl-reacts-to-patricia-speech-oscars-2015-gif_zpsbcb9d3fs.gif

You have left me speechless and I apologize if my review is a bunch a ramblings but I am well aware that my words will do this story no justice what so ever.

If you LOVE and I mean really love a dark tale of epic WRONGNESS written into an amazing story...YOU MUST READ The Killer Series

Book 1: Deliverance for Amelia (AMAZING AS WELL)
Book 2: Gabriel's story.

He is the son of horrible serial killer Gabe Thibault from Deliverance for Amelia. Gabriel is living in a dark world clouded by the past evilness of his father. Not wanting to be anything like Gabe, Gabriel's mind has darkness of it's own and he is trying everything he can to figure himself out.

Also feeling a shadow of evil following him throughout his life, Gabriel can't grasp what that evil really is. The only explanation he has is he is just like he evil father.

Gabriel saves girls. Not in the way you or I think. He saves the ones that no longer want to live with their own demons by helping become sleeping beauties. Right or wrong, Gabriel feels he is helping them. This is his form of empathy.

Abducting Saving Dani only spins Gabriel's further out of control, bringing feelings he never expected. Their journey together thru evil brings about a relationship on a level that I can't explain.

 photo PicsArt_10-25-05.10.17_zps3sc9wzyj.jpg

"You are mine now, your demons belong to me, and I will make you face them."

"Let me be the one who undoes you."

Dani has lived a life of hell at the hands of her abusive and devil of a father. Finally escaping the torture she lived because he disappeared, Dani is trying to piece what little ray of light in her life together and have something normal. That changes when Gabriel enter's her life.

 photo PicsArt_10-25-09.30.31_zps3o5rufef.jpg

Her captivity is a feeling of piece for her. She NEEDS the control of a man. That is all she knows. She doesn't fight Gabriel and his darkness.

"You can't be afraid when you've survived hell."

Gabriel and Dani's connection is explosive. What they give to each other may not seem healthy but for two souls shattered from a past riddled with evil hands the love they form is passionate and beautiful.

 photo PicsArt_10-25-04.57.41_zps6iitnxrr.jpg

When you begin to think you have this story figured out...I warn you....THINK AGAIN and hold on for dear life because this story is about to rock your world with secrets and HOLY HELL of a twist!!

 photo plow_zpssjrl3jvm.gif

I won't explain is...just be prepared for something so wrong yet so damn amazing....I am still left blown away but the twist of this one.

Monsters do not dwell in your closets or under your bed....they live inside your head........OR DO THEY?

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!!!!
Top series of all time for me!! I still get goosebumps when I think of this one and it leaves a wicked smile on my face!!

What a complete mind fuckery, there were so many plot twists I’m blown away. Deliverance For Amelia & Gabriel are two of the best darkest reads for 2015! Damn sure takes number one in my favorites! Bonny Capps has a chilling way of drawing you in with her horrifying intrigue while soothing your nerves during the steamy passionate scenes. Now onto the review!
 photo Slide1_56.gif
When reading Gabriel you could easily have a controversial debate. On the one hand he blames his madness on inheriting the psychopathic gene. So it's not his fault for killing those lost souls, but rather his father. Poor fucking baby, when does one take responsibility for their own actions? Sure you can blame anyone until the cows come home. It was so and so’s fault, but reality is you were the one committing the heinous acts of brutality, Gabriel. You claim you're helping those who want to end their suffering, being more humane, when in fact you're just as monstrous as the man who spawned you. No I have no empathy for the delusional man, you reap what you sow.
 photo Slammer 5.jpg
(Excerpt) There is a way to madness, often it is learned. And if you’re unfortunate enough, you’ll have a shadow like me following you night and day, whispering imaginative ways to make them all fucking pay.
 photo Gabriel 12.jpg
Throughout the book I saw Dani with strength, courage and endurance. Yet felt she was just as sickly groomed and doomed as the man holding her. It was weird seeing similar psychosis between the two. Yes she had a hellish past, and dragged herself from the nightmares. The fact of the matter is, she did. Dani made a name for herself and began living. Right up until she met Gabriel, then it was like a switch had been flipped and I couldn’t tell who was sickier.
 photo Gabriel 5.jpg
(Dani) He is my devil, and I am his servant. His darkness is swallowing me whole, and if I have to live the rest of my life in the nether, so be it.

This is only the second book I've read by Bonny Capps, reading this soon after finishing Deliverance For Amelia. If all of her books resemble these two, I have absolutely, for sure found my new favorite author! If you enjoyed Deliverance For Amelia then you're definitely going to want to read about Gabe's son, GABRIEL. Don't fool yourself into thinking that Gabriel is just like his father and don't assume that Gabriel inherited some or all of his father's psychopathic characteristics. He may be just as sick and twisted but maybe he's not.... Bonny Capps isn't your typical author so I'd be cautious before placing any bets! One thing you can be sure of is that Capps isn't going to write what you expect her to.

In this book, you will meet a talented and beautiful woman named Danielle, Dani for short. The things Dani endured during her childhood are horrific and unimaginable (unless you're Bonny Capps of course)! Dani is strong and resilient though, surviving her abusive upbringing and now as a young adult, she's beginning to make a name for herself in the fashion industry. When we meet her, Dani's focused on her career; she's extremely hard-working, busy and productive. Yet after she meets with Gabriel, fashion will be the last thing on her mind.

Although this book and it's predecessor are 5-star favorites of mine, I did wish that Ms. Capps would've given us a better look inside Dani's mind. Like Amelia in Killer#1, Dani quickly acclimates to being a captive. In both books, I would have liked to have seen these characters put up a bigger fight and show more emotional turmoil over their situations. I found it hard to imagine that someone like Dani who had worked tirelessly for days without even taking a break would so quickly and completely stop thinking about her career and everything else that had been part of her world (for example her apartment, her friends etc.). Just like I felt regarding Amelia, I would have liked for Capps to have shown us more of Dani's inner dialogue. Other than that, this book is perfection!

If you enjoy dark books, Bonny Capps is a writer worth keeping an eye on. With her open mind and fearless desire to write intense horror, Capps delivers! If you are about to read GABRIEL for the first time, I suggest you buckle your seatbelt and hold on tight because you're about to encounter some crazy twists, unexpectedly sharp turns and some absolutely brilliant mindfuckery!!

I didn't see anything in this book coming! Bonny shocked me and twisted my mind so much with this one that I was left wondering how in the world does she come up with this stuff. It starts off with a bang and doesn't let up and the suprises she throws in through out the book will leave you reeling and turning the pages to understand what's going on. Her writing is so easy to follow and just flows so well. Gabriel is trying to keep his darkness under control and then we have Dani who has had a horrible life but has stayed strong. Throw them together and it's a masterpiece! Loved everything about this book!!

This pains me... Not so much giving the two star, as I'll explain my reasoning for that in a moment, but because I must admit that I might have been wrong about the first book. I just don't see how it could have plummeted this far.
First, it's riddled with missed edits--things a spell check won't catch, but a proofread will, i.e. "before opening the small vile." I went and checked book 1, thinking maybe this one was just sped through, but the mistakes are there too. Apparently, I just wasn't as annoyed by them. I must have been tired, I guess.
Beyond that, it's the story that I had to rate two stars as it is just so very OTT, it borders on ridiculous. The first book was as well with the medieval torture Gabriel's father liked to use on his victims. However, I enjoyed that one and thought it at least somewhat plausible, but this one... Come on!

My first problem, *******mild spoiler that won't ruin the story for you, but I hid it anyway*********

My second problem, I can't even get into without revealing the entire twist in the book, but can I just say, 'no way.' This is not an, oh my God! No way! This is a 'No way could that possible happen. Ever.' It was almost like the author looked at all the characters and tried to make as many connections and relationships between them as possible, and it came across as forced and OTT.

My third and final problem was with the end. *********again, mild spoiler***********

In the end, I'm disappointed, especially since now I'm questioning my review of the first Deliverance.
So, to my dear friend, Doc, who I argued with vehemently about book 1, I stand corrected.

**arc received for honest review**

Im not sure if this review will do this book justice and without giving away to much of the book its one of them books that you just have to read to understand how great it is but you will need yo read book 1 Deliverance For Amelia.

Gabriel is the son of the high profile killer/hitman Gabriel Thibault, Gabriel never knew and discovers this until a bit later on in life, he knows his different to his parents and his sister so he goes and searches on the internet and finds all about his evil father and what he'd done to so many people and to his mother.

Gabriel hears voices, he sees the man in the hood who haunts him, he haunts his dreams his visions he is Gabriel's devil,
But is he real?
Is he part of Gabriels psychotic mind?
Is he like his father?
That is a yes Gabriel is a killer but he justify's it a little different to his father. Gabriel only kills people that want to die he does torture them a little but not to the extent his father did.

Dani is young and working hard to become a fashion designer. She has lived through hell she was beaten within inches of her and raped repeatedly for many many years by the one person you trust.

The one person who is suppose to protect you.

The one person who is suppose to care for you.

The one person who is suppose to show you unconditional love.

The one person who is suppose to guide you.

Your father!

Dani is broken but pushes through life she tries he hardest to make something of herself she sinks her self into her work until she meets him...

There is something about her that he wants he can see she is broken.
He takes what he wants.
He takes her.

This book isnt for everyone is not all about love and falling in love with the man of your dreams its evil, violating, disturbing, horrific and heart breaking.
We loved the 1st and we love the 2nd even more even though we think the author could have kept cause we would have loved more but that could mean that there maybe another where not sure.

Thank you bonny for a fantastic read and the great kicker you dont see coming we actually thought we were reading things!!

Wicked twist that you won't see coming!!!!

Wow loved this ending. Was happy that this book was about Gabe's son, it completes the whole story. I found myself sympathizing with Gabriel as he is conflicted in knowing that he is Gabe's son and doesn't want to be like his real father, but finds himself trying to justify the things that he does. Then BAM!!!!! Bonny Capps knocks you into left field and blows you ten sheets north!!!! I sure as hell didn't see that twist happening!!! Definitely a must read!!! Thoroughly enjoyed both books in this series!!!

Holy shit!!!! I didn't expect the twists.

"But I gave that permission, because I could care less about my torn and battered heart. I only care about his."

Gabriel is such a broken soul!

"My feelings for him pulse through every vein in my body. The need to help this beautiful monster has possessed my senses"

I was worried there for a mins towards the end. But the end was good. Definitely didn't see a lot of things coming. Definitely didn't expect for certain people to be fucking assholes!

Great job Bonny! I will definitely keep reading your fucked up dark romance! ❤️❤️❤️

Omg Bonny totally knocked it out with this book . My head was all over the place as I was reading this . I was left shocked with my mouth wide open at the end of this one . I loved every twisted and dark second of this book . I fell head over heels for Gabriel he is a dark twisted soul but he had such a heart I can't say more or I'll ruin it for people . Dani grew up never knowing love or happiness but she didn't make the choice to be a victim.

"He is my Devil, and I am his Servant

All I can say is WOW. If you love, love, love DARK reads then this is a must.

Are instincts inherited or learned? How much do we take after our parents? If one is a sociopath, does that mean that we will be one as well or will be like the other parent and be able to show empathy and love. These are the demons that plague Gabriel's mind.

At the age of 25, Gabriel began to question who he really is as he feels he doesn't belong. He notices that he doesn't look like is parents and becomes suspicious. This is when he discovered Gabe Thibault, his real father. From then on he begins to compare his life and how he "helps" people, compared to what his father "did" to people.

Dani LeBlanc - successful designer, but behind the successful persona lies a depressed and broken woman, suffering from abuse as a child by the hands of her father.

We are taken on a rollercoaster with more twists and turns that nearly gave me whiplash. Just when you think you know how this story will end, Bonny throws in a curve ball that you will not see coming. If you are a lover of Dark and Disturbing reads then this is not to be missed.
I will add, without giving anything away, that I nearly reached my hard limit, so to say, and there has been nothing really that has made me feel sick. So thanks Bonny, this story will definitely stay with me for a long time to come.
Now on the read the final book in the series, Relentless. Wish me luck

I received an ARC of this book from The Write Connections in exchange for an honest review.

Deliverance For Amelia was my first book from Bonny Capps, and let me just say that that book blew my mind and disturbed me for a long time. It took me a while to get out of that headspace where all I could imagine was Gabriel's evilness and Amelia's hopeless situation. When I was offered the chance to review this second book, I didn't hesitate at all.

This book is now about the son, Gabriel. I have to say that the whole web of incest, lies, deceipt, rape, and abuse that seemed to circle the characters seemed to be unreal at times. I think that's the reason why I feel like I still like Deliverance better than this book.

This installment had a few character inconsistencies here and there. Dani and Gabriel the son as well as Gabriel the father. If he was bad in Deliverance, he was the devil in this book, and I felt like that kind of got old fast. Anyway, Bonny Capps still definitely sucks you in with this book. You'll find that you won't be able to put it down as soon as you start it. I love a good dark read, and she's just another name in that list of authors that Id go to whenever I have the urge.

He is my devil, and I am his servant.

Holy mind trip!
I don't even know where to start! Just when you think you've read it all, Bonny delivers this amazing follow up. Gabriel is the son of a ruthless murderer, raised by the woman that was held as his captive, and later escaped. Does he possess the same demons that haunted his father?
Dani is a girl that has lived through an absolute nightmare. Once out of the clutches of her tourmentor, she begins to make a new life for herself. What happens when these two cross paths?
So many secrets revealed.
Dark, suspenseful madness!! Excellent!

This was a great follow up to Deliverance for Ameila. Gabriel thinks he has matters in his life under control and that he is offering his victims a service. Upon meeting Dani, his whole lifestyle comes under scrutiny. Lots of twists and turns, and as a reader I went through so many emotions along the way. Sometimes, a follow up book can lead to disappointment, but this is certainly not the case in this instance and well worth a read!

Couldn’t leave well enough alone, could you Bonny Capps? Nooooo, you had to go and take a happy(ish) ending, and screw it ten ways from Sunday. And heaven help me if I didn’t like the hell out of it.

Gabriel takes up where Deliverance for Amelia ends, but many years later. It can be read as a standalone, but would be so much richer if read consecutively.

Reader Warnings:
Expect vile acts, horrendous deeds, blood shed, tears and cringe-worthy moments.

The cliches "Like Father, like son" or "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" comes to mind and applies aptly to the beginning of this book.
Dani is a very strong woman, she doesn't like men on power trips. So when Gabriel and Dani first meet she appears to be a hard ass who doesn't need shit from men. Then she is kidnapped and changes her tune quickly.
Gabriel thinks he's different than dear daddy but he's really not. He's quite disturbing and has no redeeming qualities. Or does he?

Deliverance For Amelia was my favorite book of 2015 so I had high hopes for Gabriel. I liked Gabriel but it's only a 4 star read for me so it didn't quite reach those hopes for a few reasons. I found a few small editing/proof reading issues that could have been fixed. I really didn't like where the story line went towards the end. It seemed like Bonny was trying to get the most shock and awe out of the whole thing but it ultimately felt kind of forced when a well loved character from the 1st book became involved in some stuff. I personally think it wasn't necessary to add that into the story line and I may be the only person to feel this way. This is so hard to review without giving spoilers so I think I will end this review right there.
I am a fan for life though after reading Deliverance For Amelia. I love Bonny's writing and I can't wait to see what other stories she has in the deepest, darkest parts of her mind.
If you like dark erotica novels then the 2 books in the Killer series are definitely worth your time. You will not be disappointing!

“A shadow is not your friend, nor your enemy, but your conscience. A shadow is not your lord or your savior, but it will make sure you’re compliant.”

5 disturbingly dark stars!!! This book is deeply disturbing and so d@mn dark, but I loved every page!!

Gabriel is the son of a serial killer Gabriel Thibault, he knows nothing about his father, but he does some research and learns he too has a dark side. Gabriel also hears voices and occasionally sees a man in a hood, but Gabriel can’t figure out if he is real or just a figment of his imagination. Dani is an up and coming fashion designer, and she has been through h@ll and back. She was beaten and raped by her father, so to say she has trust issues is a complete understatement. When these two meet, Gabriel knows he wants her and well he takes her. Yes this book is a captor/captive book but it’s also about finding love in the most unexpected place!

This book was insane and so dark, but I loved it! This will take you on such a huge roller coaster ride of emotions! There’s so many twists and turns and you’ll never know which way the book is going. I love Bonny Capps and I love all her dark books, each other is better than the next and I’m a huge fan!!!

I rate this book with a 3.5 for now.
OK let me start this off with a few warnings. VERY dark read. There is just about everything dark you can think of all wrapped into this book. #2 If editing mistakes (especially obvious to the reader obvious) bother you, do NOT start this book.
Now to the review. I did NOT read book one so I am not sure if that would affect how well I understand some of what happens or not. There are quite a few things that I found confusing, or off.
Writing style was a definite plus, really enjoy Ms Capps writing. I think she has talent. I am looking forward to giving her another chance. I think theres potential there. Just not 100% either way. I cant say TOO much without hitting a spoiler, but there are somethings that pop out without ruining the story I believe. Gabriel has to overcome the whole living in the shadow of his father. Also a Gabriel, he gives meaning to the word of evil. Then theres Amelia who has her own demons to get past. And I say get past because they definitely arent something shell get over. I have to say Amelia is one of the things I questioned. One moment shes a completely hands off person. Not wanting ANY human contact. Then suddenly shes jumping Gabriels bones.

I received this book along with Deliverance for Amelia to read and review. In book one, the author states that you have to know ahead of time this is not for the weak. You may need to take a breather to get thru the books. I have read very dark books before.

The Killer series has exceeded my expectations. If you are interested in a shock and awwww, you get it. In a most disturbing way. There are few books that stick with you. As a reader, I do not think I will ever forget either books.

How to even start with Gabriel? I can't imagine ever meeting such a person. He has been raised by a father with the darkest thoughts. It would only make sense the possible chance he would turn out to the same was highly likely. Except he is not. Is there a way for someone to have redeeming qualities and are the spawn of Satan? You will find out in the book.

I am glad he is a bit different from his father. Not too far off. I did take a couple of days because I read both books back to back. The second book is not as hard to read. Do not take this review as if I think this book is fluff. Bonny's writing is very detailed and also graphic. You have to read each page or you will miss details that are needed to make this book complete.

I rate this book a 4.4.

This is the story of a man who's carrying his father legacy of being a fucked up serial killer.

Fortunately Gabe isn't exactly like his father he feels empathy something his father didn't.

Fifty shades of fucked up comes to mind. Rape, incest, love, tragedy, violence are all featured. This is not for the faint hearted. No white knight, no fairy tale, no happy ending or is there.
