Eh- it could have been better!
I hate when books have a good story line but so much is left out or could have been better. I love the characters, they are all feisty and interesting. What I hated is that the heroine didn't even give the hero "a run for his money" or bust his chops. They sort of just fell in together and then the mystery killing started. I skipped half of the book and just read most of the dialogue, it's all cliche.

I listened to this on audiobook.
This was a brilliant storyline, with lots of action and entertainment, very fast paced. I really did enjoy it but I kind of wish it was longer. I thought the story was just too short and everything that happened throughout was done far to quickly.
I loved the characters of Luke and Skylar, their interaction and chemistry between them was clear to see.
This isn't just a love story, it's so much more than that. There's attempted murder, an actual murder, a fire, guns, friendship, family ties, police protection, business deals, unique pyschic gift whereby members of the Love family can see energies on people and objects, taking Skylar hostage, hospital visits and a few naughty sex scenes. So plenty of action and drama going on.
I like book 1 a lot, so I will definitely be continuing with the series. Looking forward to Declan (Skylar brother) and Olivia (Skylar best friend) story which is up next in book 2.

Each member of the Love family has a unique gift. Skylar can see energies in people and things. Her ability helps her find rare and unique objects and in this storyline help them find a killer. When Landon, a biologist and family friend, has his first date with Skylar, someone spikes their drinks. Trouble is, they can't figure if Skylar or Landon was the target. Loved ones are hurt and people die on the race to find the culprit. It's not all bad, as they H and h find love along the way and one of her brothers realizes how he feels for another family friend. Lots go ok mg on

I felt like I was watching a movie on fast forward. This book could have easily been made into a full length book, or if wanting to keep it at a novella length the pace could have been slowed slightly and some content cut. There was so much going on at once and then attempting to set up the second book as it went at the same time. We had the third act break up in chapter 2. The story was good and I would have read 300 pages of this to make the pace better for sure.

Loved the suspense of who the person was out to kill people!
Skylar and Luke are truly amazing characters, really glad they had a happy ending. Wow you can really make someone hang on every word. Excellent read, suspense, love, hatred, everything you would want in an enjoyable book. Highly recommend. PS Ready to read DECLAN'S story now.

He had come back to the island to celebrate his birthday, or so that was the story.
Skyler had a crush on Luke since forever! Even though he had asked her out, she felt that was her brother's doing, trying to help with what they thought was a devastating breakup with her ex, so her answer to Luke was no!
However, when the truth comes out, well things were looking up, until someone tried to poison them.
Great mystery story.

Overall a good story. It would have been better if it had been fleshed out a bit and not so rushed. There was plenty of material. As it was the characterization suffered the most.
Robin Sitten did okay as narrator. She read quite fast all the way through and although she used some voices it was mostly lost in the swiftness of the pace.

A quick but entertaining read. I enjoyed the mystery and was surprised by the villain. I enjoyed Skylar and Luke's relationship, although parts did feel a bit rushed.
