Thomas Wymark definitely has a way of drawing you into a story so much that you're pulling your hair out at some crazy parts... I was completely drawn in and finished the story in 4 hours. Such an exciting plot too, I never really knew how it would end.

Katy Leon (daughter) had headed off to school.
Rebecca “Becky” Leon (wife/mother, real estate broker) was off to work.
Michael “Mike” Leon (27, husband/father, narrator, former Army; Afghanistan, PTSD) looked out the back yard window & there was a man come crashing to earth in front of him.
Blood everywhere.
Monarch Close. The hutch was destroyed & Daff (guinea pig), & Winnie (guinea pig) were crushed to death.

The police were called.
The paramedics had arrived 1st.
Boston. Later, Doctor Orson (surgeon) was looking after Katy.
Marie Cherry (wife, neighbor) interview didn’t correspond with Michael’s.
The police were now puzzled.
A break in the case had finally come.
Andrew Powell (secondary school teacher, Hampshire) was the deceased.
How will the family pay for Katy’s (9) operation?

She had now been kidnapped.
Will she ever be found alive?
Could there be something Mike is hiding?

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review, only an honest one. All thoughts & opinions are entirely my own.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written mystery book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great mystery movie, or better yet a mini TV series. A very easy rating of 5 stars.

Thank you for the free Author; PDF book

This book was received as a free download from the author after reading Inheritance. What came as a surprise was how different the two styles of writing were, especially as they were within the same genre , and yet equally engaging. You have a dead body, apparently having fallen from the sky, an ex forces lead whose brain and body don't always work in tandem with each other as the only witness, suspicious neighbours all ready to point the finger ,along with a very cynical police force. To add to that the family are faced with a hugely challenging moral dilemma that sets in motion life changing events. Twists, turns and even a smattering of dark humour all contribute to a captivating novel. I have immediately bought another of Thomas Wymarks books You can't get them back . I am sure it will be as equally brilliant as the first two I have read.

Excellent thriller to keep you reading. Michael seems to be having a regular day, until a body falls from the sky. Too bad, the police think perhaps he did it. Just have to finish until you find out, or no sleeping at night.

I had to keep reading to see what happened. The characters were interesting and intricate. The story kept you on the edge of your seat and drew you into the intense intrigue. Very good!

The story went full circle with no resolution. Very disappointing. I'm done with this author.

Loved this book very much. It starts with a bang then proceeds slowly (as slow as Michael himself) and the feeling is that the peak is coming soon...but one has to wait and hols one's breath.
I couldn't leave the book until I finished it, and each time something happened I felt more for Michael. I could also feel his sense of despair and failure, being unable to provide for his family.
the end - that was a surprise!
Loved the book and hope to read more of this writer.

I was given a free copy of this book having signed up to the authors newsletter.
This book is excellent, it starts with a bang and the story unfolds at an exciting pace, the main character being drawn into a series of events beyond his control which progress in a frightening way.
The characterisation is subtle yet excellent, and I found myself drawn in and having to know what happened next.

This was an intense story. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. If he was going to find and help his daughter in time. It really took several unexpected twists. I really recommend this book and this author.

This was an interesting story. I liked it better than Inheritance. This story had likable characters. The writing was better and it was smoother.
