This was my first Ryan Michele book and I really enjoyed it. If you love mafia/mob books, definitely you need to go and click this one.
The characters develoment was spot-on and even though the story line was not something new, I think the author did well.
Catarina is one of the Mafia Princess, and what I loved most about her is that she was not the typical “Princess” she knew little about the family business, but she was not a fool. She knew they do illegal things but she was not a part of it. She was an independent and fiery woman, who loves her family but due to the family “business” she was overprotected by them making her feel caught up in a bubble she doesn not want.
Jag, on the contrary, was the boss's right hand. Catarina did not want nothing to do with someone related with the family but with just one look at Jag leave her wanting to know more about the enigmatic Jag Maratelli.
Caterina and Jag were a hot and strong couple. The chemistry between them was palpable and I asure you great steamy scenes. These two were hawt!!!!!!!
Needless to say, with this being a mob/mafia book, there was a lot going on, not just a love story, so be prepared for some action and suspense.
I highly recommend this book for lovers of this genre. Keep in mind that not all readers may have the same feeling as me and enjoy this book. Happy reading.

Great read till the end
This was a fantastic read till the end. I couldn’t put it down I had to see what as going to happen....the bam it was over.
Everything was rolled up in a nice ball and then done. Everything worked out with no problems and a HEA. There were way too many holes in the story. Why would the mastermind bad guy not know they could trace his phone....DUH! And why would there be pictures of her dad killing his dad at a Halloween party and it was faked? WHAT?!? Still confused by that one, when everyone in the book was like yeah that is what happened.
Then the ultimate cherry n the cake the author saying hey I am not going to writing another story about these people even though the readers want it. And she is “sorry for the inconvenience”. Oookay!

Wow just wow!
I am a huge fan of Ryan Michele's books, but this one took the cake. I devoured this book from beginning to end, and I still want more.
Catrina is sexy, strong, and a badass. I loved her personality, and the no bull sh!t attitude. I loved it. She is the type of woman that most women want to be.
Jag was sexy as sin bad boy. He is the perfect match for Catrina.
I am so excited to see what Ryan has next.

Loved it
Wow.....this book was awesome. I have to say that having hot Mafia guys and strong kickass woman make one awesome book! This book had everything....suspense...drama....love...hot hot scenes! You will not only fall in love with the main characters but all of the secondary characters as well. Can't wait for Kiera's story!

Hot Italian mafia!
Sex, guns, love, mystery all in this Italian mafia type book. Strong, very strong heroine, Catarina, Jag, amazingly sexy, dominant sweet talking Italian man. Who doesn't love a man who puts you first, sexy as sin, calls you sweet Italian endearments and who can follow through with everything he says! Jag can keep me safe anytime and if love to be friends with Catarina and Kiera two strong capable females in a sea of Italian men.

It was a cute read, however it didn't give me the mafia vibes I was craving.
I loved that the heroine was badass and didn't need any saving; the hero was everything you could want or need in, but somehow it was missing something.
Maybe it was rushed, the romance and all or maybe it's me.. oh well.
Either way it was a quick enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed this, I loved all the characters and could see more books in this series to enjoy but note from author at the end of boom squashed that as she isn’t writing anymore to this series .....wtf!!!

Yummy! I didn't want to put this book down. What a great group of characters and a kick butt plot to go along with it. The depth of the whole book created a movie playing in my head as I read. I just couldn't get enough.

Family is everything. The Lambardonis are no exception. With a father who loves his children more than his own life and protects them as such; honors his wife of so many years, Catarina is surrounded by a life of shelter but love. Catarina has stayed on the right side of the law with her cousin Kiera. Lambardoni Enterprises is their baby making them money and securing a future keeping the girls sheltered from the not so lawful side of the family.
With a loving family and brutally over protective brothers, Val and Dominic, life should be better than good but not so. Catarina’s personal life is a mess. She just watched her boyfriend Antonio cheat with a blonde hot mess at the club. Now she is stuck beating the crap out of him while her full time bodyguard Scraper and her “Ghost” stand back allowing her to say her peace. Knowing Val will soon arrive spoiling her fun, Catarina continues to pound the man while explaining to Kiera what just happened.
Jag Maratelli knows he is going with Val to clean up a mess that involves his sister but has no idea what he is walking into until he sees the most beautiful woman he has ever laid eyes on. Jag is tired of the fake women in California but is honored sitting in the position he is for the family. He worked hard to earn his spot after the murder of his father. His summons to the East Coast for an unexpected meeting has just taken a huge turn as he watches this fired filled woman take on her brother after listening to his reprimand. Not only had Val warned his sister about Antonio but he is a member of another family; no one as powerful as the Lambardonis but still a member.
From the first meeting Catarina and Jag are bound just by a look. Val warns Jag to steer clear as he has no ties to the area and his place is in California. However with betrayal hitting the family directly and ties that are shattered, Jag and Catarina are catapulted into a string of murder and plot twist that will send you into a tail spin.
This is a standalone but I hope that we will have some more books gifted to us by Ryan centered around this family and the supporting characters. There are so many players! Lawd it's exciting! I have a lot of need to know with Rex and Kiera. And Val … Man is a freaking hot ass angry man. Dang! Rex .. Well .. Haha .. Ladies ladies …. Um um um …
I absolutely love these stories. The men are badass and completely smitten with their women. Who doesn't want that fantasy? This is a five star read on all accounts. The characters are fantastic the wham bam in your face players will make you yell what!?!?!? .. Give me more Ryan! Give me more!

Catarina works on the legal side of her family's business. She assumes some of their dealings are illegal, but she knows that family, blood and loyalty are what's important. On the night she catches her boyfriend cheating, her world is knocked off balance when she meets Jag. He runs the California portion of her family's business and he makes her feel things no other man ever has.
Jag works very hard and is loyal to his family. His dad was best friends with the boss before he was murdered. Jag is now the boss' right hand guy and realizes the moment he sets eyes on Catarina that's she's the one he's been looking for. It only makes her more attractive that when he meets her, she's just basically beaten up her cheating boyfriend. He wants her and is determined to figure out how to make it work since they live in different states.
When an emergency demands his attention back home he has to leave. He thinks Catarina is safe, but the danger is closer to her than anyone thought.
I loved Jag. He's a mafia, hot badass and his feelings towards Catarina were clear that first night. He didn't play games and made it no secret how he felt towards her. Even when her brother tried to warn him off her, Jag never backed down and keep after Catarina.
I liked Catarina for the most part but she makes a mistake keeping a secret that I had a hard time believing she'd be stupid enough to do. Growing up in the mafia and having her father, uncle and brothers as protective of her as they were, I realistically couldn't see how she'd not go to at least one of them. But that aside, I liked her fire and strength. She was perfect for Jag and I liked them together!
I'm looking forward to Kiera's story next. I think she and Rex will be perfect for each other and I anticipate her being as feisty as Catarina.

If you love hot alpha mobsters then this book is for you. Ryan Michele writes one panty melting intense book. Right from the first page Ryan Michele sucks you in. Meet Catarina Lambardoni she's the Mafia princess who has stayed on the legit side of things. She's just walked in on her boyfriend cheating on her so she gives him justice Catarina style. I really like her character because she doesn't take crap from anyone and is on strong hot chick. Jag Maratelli is the bosses right hand man and he sees the fire inside Catarina making him want her. He will not allow anyone to stop him from making her his. The chemistry these two have is crazy hot and you will need some clean panties after reading this book. When the family is betrayed Jag is sent back home to deal with the crisis. Can these two passionate people handle the long distance? Or is the danger closer to Catarina than anyone realizes? This book is full of hot action, great dynamics between all characters, lots of mob tough guys, plenty of sexy bedroom scenes. Ryan Michele will leave you panting for more. I'm hoping this will turn into a new series and many of these characters will get their own story. I loved every second of this thrilling ride.

Well.. I gotta start out by JAG IS MINE!!! Holy smokes what a roller coaster right that Ryan Michele wrote!! I absolutely loved how strong Catarina was. She was a no holds barred kinda girl that fights for what she wants and can handle herself. I love that she was able to take care of herself right off the bat!! Enter Jag and you can feel those two sizzle as soon as they see each other. The passion that these two envoke is unbelievably stunning and just scorches!
Jag is tough as nails because of how he was brought up in the family business. He is all alpha and refuses to listen to anyone when it comes to what he wants and that was Catarina. He is dealing with so much yet knows how much he cares for Catarina that he will let nothing get in his way, like her brother!
The mob/mafia aspect of this book just add to the unbridled passion these two share. It adds a level of mystery and intrigue and tests their relationship to the bring of destruction. This book is one of my favorite mob books I have read! Am really looking forward to more in this genre style from Ryan Michele..
oh.. and PS... I TOTALLY pictured Joshua Sean McCann as Jag!!

I have read the MC series by this author and it was good, and since I am a big lover of the organized crime genre, I was excitied to.see this series come out. I was not disappointednin this book. It had suspense, amazing sex scenes and an overall feel for the love of family. Catrina is the daughter of a very powerful man who has been raised with her brothers and their inscented need to over protect her. But we see right off the bat that she candle handle her own after catching her boyfriend cheating on her. Now in comes Jag, a man who holds the same position in her family as her brothers. He immediately recognizes Milan and her capabilities of handling herself, but still needs to protect her all the same. Milan and Jag have great chemistry together and when a threat tears them apart, Jag works hard on dismantling that threat even if it comes from his side of the family.

It takes a while to get into this one but when you do, it doesn’t take much to sway your attention and then there are the times when their PDA is so much that you stare wanting to know more or you're just uncomfortable as to the lengths they will go, despite who all is watching. I also didn't get the irrational hothead that is Val.
This is basically a love at first sight novel because majority of their "passion" is felt after a weekend together. However, you might get whiplash because you can turn to the next chapter only to find yourself nine months into the future, which wouldn’t be so bad, except for the part where all the endearing things happened within those months that we never got to see.
One thing that was different and that I appreciated, was the role of the women and their personalities. They weren’t deep into the business, if any at all, and I found their level of participation and independence to be sufficient. Catarina and Keira can defend themselves if necessary but they don’t take their security for granted either.
Jag could be great but he was just okay. I think it’s all that missing time, mediocre confrontations and basic conversations that left him lacking but I have decided to forgive him and other faux pas, on account of when this novel was released.
There is a ton of sex and it was all boring. For me.
There are many stories here, especially the one behind Jag’s father but I don’t feel like we explored them enough. Issues were investigated for months or days and ended in a minute with no real follow through and I still don’t understand his role in the organization.
I wouldn’t count out this series but it is an acquired taste that’s evolved since the year this novel was published.

I don’t read many mafia stories but this one had me hanging on needing to know what’s next. I love strong female characters and Catarina is about a fierce as they come. I also love strong take charge males and Jag is that and so much more.

Catarina runs Lambardoni enterprises with her cousin which is one of the businesses that run on the legal side. We first meet Catarina when she takes care of her boyfriend well exboyfriend now because of his actions. She proved she didn’t need her brothers, dad or uncle to take care of things for her. Loved it .
Loved Catarina and Jag,they were magnetic together... I loved to truly see a strong women that wasn't ruled by her damp panties but did know when to give into them ;) Lately I've read way too many books where the h is a weak willed doormat ruled her hormones,damp panties and selfish,self absorbed males who think nothing of threats of spankings to get what they want ( reasonable or not ) where the h is an ex lover who hasn't been given any true reason to for give a betrayal that broke her heart or a traumatized young woman ( ditzy though she may be) he's known less than and hour.... Sorry but when did the definition of a sexy "alpha" mean selfish dickheads who treat like a cross between naughty children or disobedient pets needing to be disciplined for just simply not agreeing to there commands ? Aaaaaaa No, I want grown women ,not weak willed girls,who know there own minds and demand the respect they deserve, Rina does and while I wouldn't want a man as dangerous as Jag. I sure as Hell want a man to love and cherish me they way he does her... Loved Catarina and Jag,they were magnetic together... I loved to truly see a strong women that wasn't ruled by her damp panties but did know when to give into them ;) Lately I've read way too many books where the h is a weak willed doormat ruled her hormones,damp panties and selfish,self absorbed males who think nothing of threats of spankings to get what they want ( reasonable or not ) where the h is an ex lover who hasn't been given any true reason to for give a betrayal that broke her heart or a traumatized young woman ( ditzy though she may be) he's known less than and hour.... Sorry but when did the definition of a sexy "alpha" mean selfish dickheads who treat like a cross between naughty children or disobedient pets needing to be disciplined for just simply not agreeing to there commands ? ADDICTING READ!
Before starting this book I had a really hard time finding a book I liked, that I could get into. I had read a really good book about three books before this one and it ruined me because I loved that book so much. Then I started to read this book and after about the fourth page I started doing the happy dance because I FINALLY found a book I was going to fall in love with, and boy did I . These characters are fantastic. The author has you gripped to each and every page. When you think you know who did it???? YOUR WRONG! Blew me away! Such a fantastic read . Thank You Ryan Michele. I'm starting another one of your books as soon as I'm done writing this review.

Hot new book boyfriend 🥰
In the first chapter Catarina comes across as a hard nosed character that I was going to find hard to connect with, enter Jag who right from the start had Catarina bewitched under all of his alpha manly hotness. The author got his character perfectly defined as it would have been easy for Jag to be portrayed as too alpha and over the top. But when he entered s room people took notice and when he spoke he was commanding presence. I scored the story down because I felt that the way it was written it would be a series, each character getting their own book plus I wanted more from the epilogue especially as it’s a standalone book. I fully recommend this book despite above grievances.

A Traitor in the Midst
My first read of this amazing author and it will not be the last. A great storyline with likeable main characters. A love a dark mafia thriller like this my favourite genre! So many twists and turns in this superb read, intrigue galore that keeps you gripped from the very first page. A book I simply had to read in one sitting! Mob families trying to take over cities and lines! A white hot, instant electrifying lust between Jag and Catarina that blows your mind.
A for sure highly recommended must read for this fantastic author.

Blood & Loyalties: book 1
Wow.. I learned about this book small part that was at the end of Schooled by Ryan & Chelsea. I soooo enjoyed the drama in the storyline. Don't think I have read many Mafia books & this one kept me wanting more. I hope we get lots more in another book. Love the two of them as a couple. Keep me wishing there was more!!! Please hurry & write more in the storyline. I recommend all the Author's books.

A Good Mafia Romance
I really liked this book. It has one tough as nails heroine named Catarina. Then there was Jag and he was proud and didn't back down when her family would try to intimidate him. There was a scene where the author actually described what would happen after being locked up for days on end. Where the person could not move at all. I don't want to give to much away. Definitely worth reading.

Another amazing read
I love all thing's Michele Ryan. So it's no surprise this is another great read. She has a way of making you addicted to her characters. If you love crazy sexy strong make no apologies take what I want alphas then Jag is your man. I only wish this story was a little longer with more drama drawn out. To me it was to fast it would make a great series for sure. The sex scenes of are off the charts. However I do recommend this book of you like to read mafia.

Very weak three stars. Should be 2.5 really.
The story had potential, the idea was really not too bad.
But it was done in a hasty way, uneven, the whole thing felt flat and undeveloped. Very pompous & cliche beginning with insta wild attraction and explosive sex (obviously), then a bit with mafia, some betrayal and torture; traditional kidnapping, then rescue... And .... the end.
