A family in hiding, a potential move, a career opportunity, and a killer thought dead but actually living and well—it’s just another week for Tampa homicide lieutenant Carl Kane.
When an FBI led operation is blown and agents from the investigation begin turning up brutally murdered, Kane and Special Agent Faust must work together to track down an all-too-familiar culprit.
Yet finding him is only the beginning.
A man is most dangerous when he’s lost everything, and for this particular man, all is lost and nothing would make him happier than putting the lieutenant six feet under.

Lt. Carl Kane and Sergeant Hank Rawlings team up once again in , "Denouement", from author E.H. Reinhard. This is the sixth book in the series. Complete with heart stopping action, and suspense throughout, this sixth book may be the best one yet. Featuring epic car chases and wild shootouts, Carl and Hank never fail to provide incredible reading enjoyment. Carl's nemesis Ray Azarov is seemingly back from the dead and is now an out of control nightmare for the citizens of Tampa. Carl has teamed with FBI Agent Jack Faust to stash away his family in an unknown location after the nightmare in previous book finally concluded. Carl's boss, Captain Bostok is in the process of getting promoted to "Major", leaving the Captain's job open for Carl. Carl however has unfinished business before taking oral boards for promotion himself. Incredibly Ray comes charging back into Carl and Faust's world. Ray has brutally killed two FBI agents in order to get Faust's address, and Carl's location. Seemingly the case gets stuck by a web site that gives time and temperature at any given time. Why are all the bad guys calling into this app ? Why is the info from the site somewhat off as well ?. They finally get a break when Carl digs out a dishonest cop from within the Tampa PD. This rotten apple has been helping Ray and his brother Viktor. However the team still cannot get a handle on Ray's location. Ray is making deals with a Chicago gun salesman who is travelling in the Tampa area. So as Carl, and the FBI close in, Ray is unexpectedly loaded for bear. With a plot that is non stop action from begging to end, this one only has one speed- lightning fast !. Once again author E. H. Reinhard has developed a complex set of hard hitting characters. Spot on dialog helps keeping this one moving quickly as well. I've read all six of the Carl Kane series books, and this one stands out. I wonder if author will have a seventh ? I sure hope so. Highly recommend this series for an excellent set of action thrillers. Most run about 200 -220 pages not allowing book time to slow down. Rooting very hard for Carl Kane as he becomes a captain and his personal life expands for an enjoyable series of adventures. Do not miss !
Disappointing book with the villain that cant be killed from books 3 & 4. Too bad the author has to keep coming back to Kanes family, loved ones and himself being the subjects of attack... by the same bad guy, over and ver and over.
Ray, otherwise known as the unstoppable villain who survived being shot point blank with a 50 caliber gun ( you know the kind that can penetrate a tank) comes back again..
Characters were well defined and consistent. Story line from book 1 through the entire series flowed smoothly without lapses (which I appreciate because it’s not like a physical book that you can easily go back and flip through pages to find out if you missed a key element.) Had plenty of action packed episodes with their personal lives woven in to give depth to the characters. I am faithful to my authors whose work I have read and enjoyed, but every so often I randomly pick a new one (freebooksy and good reads are great sources to find new possibilities). Based on the book description and being able to read the beginning chapter helps a lot. Sometimes I’m 110% intrigued, sometimes I’m not. Once I started reading the first book I was hooked and have already been through the Lt.Kane series and also the Hank Rawlings series as well. I would wholeheartedly recommend both. I seriously believe you will not be disappointed. I finished both and wish there more books in in each. I will now be searching for another one to start. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a great series and the last book was super. Action and more action all through the book. LT Kane has the perfect house and wife with a baby girl on the way. Up for Captain and should know soon. If that promotion goes South then there is a secret job with the FBI. So much going on and the series ends. I hope this series is brought back and continued. I really enjoyed these stories.
Carl Kane is once again searching for the maniac named "Ray". Kane has spent a lot of time chasing and arresting this Russian fugitive, but Ray won't stay caught. In this book the challenge continues,
There's bad guys and there's worse guys. Lt. Kane is attempting to bring down a former homicidal maniac. He's really hard to kill and he seems unstoppable. Great read. Fast paced. Go get it
Tension throughout this police procedural. Reading the series in order. One novel ends and the next begins soon after the ending of the first like episodic tv series. Easy read.
I found the first book in the Carl Kane series to be boring and gruesome at the same time. This series was recommended by Goodreads so I thought it would get better. The characters were never developed to make them even remotely interesting. They were quick to get through.
Thoroughly enjoyed the 6th book in this series. It is set up where this could be the last in the series but I’m seriously hoping LT Kane will continue on. Each book can be read individually but best read in order.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Kane six book series and the four other Kane books. I've already got book one of the spinoff Rawlings series and can't wait to dive into it.
Book 6 in the Lt. Kane series is fast paced and full of intrigue and danger for Kane. His nemesis is crafty and dangerous, with the final showdown between he and Kane the best thus far in the series.
A nail biting final book in the series and the best one yet. Action and suspense galore, it certainly doesn't disappoint. It's left open-ended with a number of possibilities. Hopefully we'll be reading more of Carl Kane in his new role.
I loved the way it flowed with little effort..Didn’t like that the main charter was hurt getting the bad guy. Read this and enjoy all the twist and turns .
I honestly thought this was the best of the series. I don't know if thats because everyone was familiar and I was just as ready to end the ever growing nightmare of the bad guy, or because it felt as though I got closure, but either way, I, glad I was able to read each and everyone of these books and I loved them all!!
Seriously the best book of the series! Tight, fast paced read that ties up all the loose ends but leaves a space open for a possible return of Lieutenant Kane in another series. Finishes with a big wallop!!
Loved it . This story would make a great action movie. I have read all the Kane books and all the Bank books and highly recommend both series. Can't wait for the next one
