Darren Shan is the author of the twelve book series 'The Saga of Darren Shan'. His adventures have been read by millions of people around the world in several different languages, yet much of his life remains shrouded in mystery. He lives in seclusion in the depths of Ireland. And he never drinks blood. Or so he claims. This is collection of 6 New hardcover Blood Beast (The Demonata), The Demonata (10) - Hell's Heroes, Dark Calling (The Demonata), Wolf Island (The Demonata), Bec (The Demonata), Death's Shadow (The Demonata) Repent, horror lovers, for end end is nigh. Witness the dramatic conclusion to Darren Shan's international phenomenon, The Demonata! "The girl gazes up at me. She's even younger than I thought, clutching a small teddy bear in one hand. 'Are you the bogey man?' she whispers, eyes round. 'Yes,' I croak, then take hold of her head with my huge, scarred, blood-soaked hands and crush..." Beranabus and Dervish are gone. Bec has formed an unholy alliance with Lord Loss. Kernel is blind, held on Earth against his will. Grubbs is mad with grief and spinning out of control. The demons are crossing. Lights can't whisper. But I swear I heard a voice calling to me. It sounded like static to begin with, but then it came into focus, a single word repeated over and over. Softly, slyly, seductively, insistently. Come!" The Disciples are being manipulated by beings older than time. Only Kernel Fleck knows that something is wrong. But he is in the grip of a creature who cares nothing for the fate of humanity. Voices are calling to him from the darkness and he's powerless to resist. Kernel has already been to hell and back. Now he's about to go further! From the Back Cover I know it's ridiculous. Lights can't whisp..
As a kid I enjoyed these ya horror novels alot I think. I read them after the Cirque du freak and liked them quite a bit but I don't think I ever liked them as much as the Cirque du freak. These ones are probably his most famous book series. From what I remember my favourite book was the first one: Lord loss, and I didn't like the ending of the series. I thought it was stupid and weird. I also didn't like the ending of Cirque du freak so maybe darren shan can't write endings but anyway. Off what I can remember
4 stars

Beat series ever! I read these books when i was younger, probably about 14/15 and they were the books that got me into reading, however i think id still love them just as much at 21. If youre a fan of fantasy just by them, theyre not really horror books at all. The amount of twists and turns throughout will keeped you hooked and the way the books, not all going in chronological order or with the same protagonist, fit together is amazing. Defo buy.
So I initially started reading this box set as my S/O brought the Cirque Du Freak and got this one with it..
I must admit it took be a while to get my head around the way it chops and changes from stories and characters..
There are some truely heart breaking storylines in this boxset that I connected with and I got a MAJOR book hangover from this series..
I'm not going to give away too much but the ending is completely unexpected and blindsided me but it was a really good read once I got really stuck in I think I read all 10 books in a week? Would be been shorter but have a little one..
I've always loved brilliantly written series I only normally steer towards ones with more than 3 books published or I get left with withdrawal symptoms hah!
I have read alot of Darren Shans work since childhood and can honestly say that the writing just pulls you in.
LOVED this series and was quiet dad when it was done.. never knowing or sussing out the end was worth 5 stars for me.
Hope this helps anyone wanting to read these books honestly you won't regret it!

My favourite Darren Shan collection of books to date.. I don't think anything will top this.. I do have to say, though.. probably the last 3 or 4 books get repetitive because you've got about 100 pages of repetition and then it goes off from a different character's perspective.. but if you can get through that.. then it all comes together, it's amazing.. also getting to know, experience and be.. 3 different characters.. It's great.

Read the entire Cirque Du Freak (Darren's first collection) and found this collection later by a Vietnamese publisher. Somehow, the second collection has been translated poorly, not so good as I expected. But still have the twisted plot from the author Love to ignite my brain once again with books. Thanks!
This was one of the few book series that I could not wait to read what was coming next. The ending could have been a little more interesting, but it was fun. It was this book series that got me into the author Darren Shan.
Great series. Full of great characters, twists, magic and lots of gore. If you're wanting something more mature than the Cirque Du Freak series, then I highly recommend this!
Enjoyed the series until hell's heroes after that I found it a bit difficult to follow but overall fantastic series especially the first 4 if your a fan of horror and gore
These books have always stayed as a firm favourite of mine since my teenage years, and they proved to be the ideal choice for resuming my reading habit after a prolonged hiatus. This series serves as an excellent introduction to the horror/fantasy genre for those who are just beginning their exploration. These books incorporate multiple character perspectives and world-building elements, offering readers a comprehensive and engaging experience.
The Demonata series is a wonderful read. From the start until the end, you’ll be gripped, with the storyline being intricately woven throughout the books. Whilst it may seem, at the start, as though the books are telling different stories such is not the case. Everything is brought together wonderfully and you cannot appreciate the magic of the series unless you work your way through it.
Without a doubt, one of my favourite reads from my later childhood.
This series is a horror tale with so much depth beneath the guts and blood. The twists and turns in this series will totally outwitt your ability to predict the ending, and yet, every conclusion will make total sense. Darren Shan's book are always a fabulous example of storytelling, packed with action and heartbrake. The Demonata series is no exception to Shan's brilliance.
