Leonard came to England with a work hard, pass his exams . . . become something more. Then he met Natasha.
She is magnetic, unpredictable, and impossible to resist. What starts as a casual encounter quickly spirals into an all-consuming relationship built on sex, secrets, and emotional blind spots neither of them fully understands.
As pressure from work, from ambition, from within, he begins to lose control of the one thing he thought he had mastered—himself.
British Natasha and the Ashewo Doctor is a raw, unflinching portrait of desire and denial, and the quiet ways people drift into situations they never planned for.
Some books just remain with you after reading them!
This story follows a medical doctor based in the UK, who met a Caribbean woman called Natasha, they start having mind blowing sex and all that, what could possibly go wrong???
The first problem with Leo was not cutting off Natasha on time! He just wanted to eat his cake and have it. Womanize and still be a good doctor, make money and keep elevating.
However, women like Natasha are like cancer,if you don’t cut them off, they will ruin your entire life!!
I really liked this book so much, most things she was saying were so unhinged and I was surprised😅
The ending was so overwhelming, I just stared at the window for a while. We need to be careful with the people we mess with, please protect yourself!!
Leo was a very promiscuous man,but he did not deserve what she did to him.
Definitely a 5 star read for me. The amount of medical terms used here ehnn, phew!
I think this book is the actual definition of fuck around and find out.😂
British Natasha and the Ashewo Doctor follows Leonard, a Nigerian doctor who moves to England to build a better life for himself, only to meet Natasha and get caught up in a rather interesting series of decisions and relationships.
This was such a fun read! It took me almost 60% of the book to understand the title. I kept wondering when exactly the ashewo part was going to come into play. Then everything started coming together. This doctor sef!😂 Men ehn!
I absolutely loved the writing style, especially the use of medical and anatomical terminology in the descriptions. I found myself Googling a few words, and some of the comparisons in the intimate scenes had me genuinely questioning what I was reading. The R&B music comparison? I’ll never forget it😭😂
I also enjoyed the exploration of borderline personality disorder through Natasha’s character. It took me a while to connect with her, but that aspect of the story gave me a different perspective on her behaviour.
I did wish we got a little more from Natasha towards the end, but overall, this was a thoroughly entertaining read. Short, fast-paced and just the kind of book I’d recommend when you’re trying to get out of a reading slump.
The title caught me, and I bought it and enjoyed it! Not just as a reader but also as a writer. It was a very easy read too and for James’ first literary work this was very good!
