She prepared for the big day by making an effort to look her best; she fixed her hair, dressed herself in an off-white sari, accentuated it with fresh flowers, and glass bangles. To complete the look, she wore a pair of gold earrings and a new pair of shoes. It was to be perfect. Only, she didn’t know that it was a farce from the very beginning. The ceremony was to be held in a temple, so Anitha and her boyfriend went to the bus station in Hassan. Anticipating the travel, she decided to go to the women’s rest room as her husband-to-be waited nearby. The man, Anand Kulal, never expected her to return; in fact, when he saw that a lot of people had gathered in front of the toilet, he knew that he had accomplished his goal. I don’t often give under 3 stars for a book, however this one is an exception.

I will always give credit where credit is due, and the cases chosen were very interesting and new for me.

However, I will list the issues which I found:
- Repetitive grammar and spelling issues
- Misspelling of names (E.g. “Grans” instead of “Hans)
- Incorrect dates (E.g. killer faced death penalty in 1966 [research told me it was 1996] but killed in the 1970s & 1980s
- Clear and blatant sexism towards women
- Clear and blatant homophobia towards gay men
- Clear and blatant ideas of how a “man should be” (e.g. muscular, “masculine” job such as army, “alpha” mindset)

I am extremely disappointed to say the least as I have enjoyed Brody’s other books, excluding grammatical errors.

Due to these issues, I would award 0 stars if possible as I couldn’t enjoy reading the book because of them. I also dislike having to write a negative review, but I feel like people need to be made aware of these issues before reading it like I did.

Short in depth book. Really nothing new if you knew the stories already. It does cover the reason he believes why they decided to make these choices. Well written and he did his homework.

I read the Kindle the version of this book and basically my rating comes down to pros and cons of the book.

Pros: Most of the killers I had not ever heard of and was astounded by their evilness.
Cons: I finished the book and looked down and was only ½ way through the Kindle version – the rest of the Kindle book was a sample of other books. I felt ripped off by this. I also found each chapter jumped timelines too much and felt disorganized.

The author should have slowed the book down and spent more time on each killer with a timeline that flowed consistently throughout each chapter. Based on the proclivity of the killers, there is more than enough information to have fleshed the chapters out.

These are awful crimes

This book features ten serial killers who committed horrible, vicious murders. Most of them true crime fans will recognize, but the itemized list of their murders is sickening. If you're even slightly wimpy, skip this book.

When you hear a serial killer's name, your brain says, "Oh, that's the _____ Killer." Well, not with the Zodiac Killer, of course, because we don't know his name. But those tags, usually supplied by the media, are more familiar to us than the killer's name, such as the Green River Killer or the BTK Killer.

True crime buffs will find this book interesting reading. No photos.

Interesting synopsis of serial killers in.

The author succinctly describes the murderers in detail and their heinous crimes. The book is disturbing and grisly. Yet the author has way with words. Good writing and home doesn't drag out his work as other crime writer's, such as Anne Rule. Thank you for your time and talent.

This book is very simple to read and seems to have been written by someone who has no concept of homophones. The typos were plentiful and annoying.
Very basic and could easily be read and understood by my first grader if not for the content.

Not that great.

There are too many Grammatical errors in the short stories and the all the short Stories lack thrill thus causing loss of interest.
