Lilia has been working for the Zel family for half a year, and she has enjoyed being the administrator of the design clan. When the clan is called upon to participate in an ancient ritual and the only clan member who is eligible is pregnant, Lilia has to step into the breach to run and hide for three days in order to retain the rights over thousands of acres of land.

The Almoss family has tried everything to get the Zels out of the competition, but finally, it comes down to calling up their eldest son from duty as a forest ranger half a world away and offering him a place with them once again.

When Lilia and Xeric collide, they are each looking out for their own interests, but when he offers her an option, she might be willing to oblige.

There are lots of cool details to the hero and heroine as well as the world that make this a lovely read. The romance is wonderful as you really feel the respect between the leads.

As always, I would have love an epilogue but overall this was a good read!

I was looking forward to another of Grace's books being released, then read it right away and now have to wait again. Oh well. This one stars a woman who has learned her strengths, is very giving, yet doesn't expect much from others. In the process of asking her to do something difficult and potentially dangerous, her employers demonstrate how much they value her, only she doesn't realize that for a while. Her quiet demeanor covers up some surprising skills, and she manages quite well to protect herself against undesired attack. The romance happens very quickly, but both are open and take the opportunity to share important aspects of their lives with the other. The romance also leads to Lilia gaining clarity about how valued she is by others. Sigh. And it's over and now I have to wait a couple more weeks for another...

Truly Enjoyable

The author has written another great short story. I find it amazing how VG can pack so much story into so few pages. The characters were well developed and the romance was perfectly paced. The story was original and world building well done--loved it. I highly recommend this edition to the Terran Times.

Fast-paced, maybe the romance was a little too rushed. I like how the heroine was a hard worker and did not let her past dictate her future. She was strong-willed, dedicated, and resourceful. The wold building was interesting.

Really enjoyed this story from the hunt to the perfume 😁 the back story of the heroine was touching and showed what character she had. Also loved that the heroine actually had choice with many things happening to her, they weren’t just done, and told to her later (cringe) which I hate.
