Concern for the present life has overpowered that for the life to come,' writes Paul Helm in the introduction to this timely study of the four 'last things': death, judgment, heaven and hell.
Paul Helm teached philosophy at the University of Liverpool before becoming Professor of the History and Philosophy of Religion at King s College, London (1993-2000).
Great. My favorite book on the topic thus far. More pastoral than academic. Chapters on personal responsibility at the beginning were needed and strong
This would be another "Desert Island" book for me. Worth more than gold to me. As a distinguished Professor of Philosophy, and fine Biblically-clear Christian, Paul Helm doesn't deal with the why's and wherefore's of the future, but rather, with the clear reasoning about the future resurrection and glory to come. Amazing! I've written to the publishers (Banner of Truth Trust) more than once to suggest they publish all three in this series, as one, fine-bound volume - The Beginnings, The Callings & The Last Things. Pure gold! And medicine for the Christian's soul.
Death, Judgment, Heaven and Hell. What more do you need to know? Based on how to live today. This book has a good General Index and Scripture Index. Out of print and not easy to find,
