I haven't seen it, but I have to assume this is sort of a "narrated" version of Finding Dory, telling the story through basically monologues. It's confusing if you don't even know who the characters are (and even if you do), and there's a VERY LOT of action that happens "off-screen" that you just kind of have to trust, sure, fish can totally just amble their way around places that don't naturally happen to be flooded with the EXACT quality of water they need to survive.

I was also just generally wary of the movie since I'd heard of folks worried about the threat to "Dory's" species since blue tangs can't easily breed in captivity, but it seems to have had lower impact than anticipated. Though, also, I just couldn't scrounge up the interest in seeing a whole movie about an amnesiac fish when I barely sat through the original during a movie night.

I don't know. It's a strange format, and I can't really picture what younger reader would enjoy this. Even a Little Golden Book version seems like it would go over better. Don't hate it, but I find it somewhat impenetrable for what it is.
