Book #3 continues the frenetic pace of the life of Private Investigator California Corwin. She's one tough cookie, and she gets pulled into another case where her life is threatened a few times, but she manages to pull through. This series is easy to read and quite engaging, and I'm awaiting book 4 in the series.

SLIPKNOT (Cal Corwin Private Eye Book 3) by D.D. VanDyke is my favorite book in this series so far. Faster paced than the previous two (which is saying a lot), this book is an adrenalin-pumping, page-turning read.

A engaging read

Intriguing to the very end. The suspense jumped from every page. Can't wait to read the other books in the series.

I could not stop reading. Besides Cal's trying to stay alive, I really liked the new characters. Lost some sleep reading instead. Don't plan on getting anything else done once you start reading this. Who to trust when someone called Houdini has hired a hit man to kill you and learning who the people are with ties to the mob running a small town.

Slipknot: (California Corwin PI Mystery)

Ever heard the expression "Jump out of the frying pan, right into the fire?" Cal wishes her current mess had just left her out of both! However, she's like a dog with a bone, can't leave it alone till it's gone. The idea that something or someone has painted a bullseye on her back and wants her dead for half a million dollar payoff doesn't sit well with her. Cal and her Tech Mickey start unraveling the threads and she avoids being killed by her unknown assassin(s) until the case finally breaks. Thanks for another great read.

This series just keeps getting better. Cal Corwin finds herself up against not just one but two powerful adversaries with axes to grind. Fast paced, twists and turns but an enjoyable story. I look forward to where this series goes next.

Excellent

This is the third in the Cal private detective novels. The complexity has been built up, so it is advisable to read the first two in sequence. Slipknot ties most but not all the loose ends and I am looking forward to the next in the series.
