Captured, tortured and left at death’s door, an injection managed to save Finn’s life and opened up a whole new world. He’s no longer merely human. There’s a beast buried inside him just waiting to emerge. Finn can’t remember what happened with the hunters, but the beast will never forget.
A Mate’s Love...
Laura’s mate is dead. She found him tortured and bleeding out, already knocking at death’s door. She couldn’t save him, and it nearly killed her to leave him behind. She kissed his lips, offering comfort and love even as he left her. Now, only one thing matters. Killing every hunter she can find.
Mine...
Memories have been surfacing for Finn. The blood, the pain, and the soft kiss of a woman meant to be his. He remembers her tears despite the fact she left him to die. He vows to find her. Neither of them is ready for the inferno that ignites when they finally come face to face. With one touch, she unleashes the beast, and nothing will ever be the same.
* Unleashing the Beast is a standalone romance with an HEA.
Lacey Thorn spends her days in small town Indiana the proud mother of three. When she is not busy with one of them she can be found typing away on her computer keyboard or burying her nose in a good book. Like every woman she knows just how chaotic life can be and how appealing that great escape can look. So toss aside the stress and tension of the never ending to do list.
I'm not in love with this series, but damn is it addicting! I already want to read the next one, which isn't even out yet! But maybe a little break is good.
I thought me and Finn were gonna have problems in the beginning but that was quickly resolved and him and Laura didn't fight their mating at all. I do wish that we were getting answers as we were going along. The mystery plot is kinda interesting but saving everything for the last book isn't really the way to go, IMO.
Safety Gang: I don't remember anything mentioned on H's past. No OW/OM. The h was a virgin.
In this installment of the Awakening Pride Series we get Finn's long awaited story
Finn had been brutally torture by the hunter's and just as they were going to kill him there's a roar and screams. All the hunters leave to go see what's happening but one stays behind with Finn. Just as Finn thinks all is lost for him he sees a beautiful creature chasing the hunters. Watching as all the hunters are taken out Finn starts to fade knowing his death is close he tries to focus on the woman before him. The beautiful creature is his mate and he is slowly dying from his wounds. Unable to do anything as she leans down touches their lips together offering some comfort to her mate in his last moments. Laura has suffered so much in her life that losing her mate is more than she can bare. Feeling the loss to the point of taking unnecessary risks while saving others. Returning home she knows that she will have to deal with her brother Logan not knowing that that isn't the only thing awaiting her there.
Finn survived the attack from the hunters but not without some issues. He keeps having dreams of what happened and of the woman that left him behind. Neither Finn nor Laura ever thought that they would see each other again until Finn caught her scent when he was walking into a building she had just left. Rushing from the building he goes in search of his mate. Laura hears him running and turns towards him never believing her eyes that all wasn't lost to her after all her mate had somehow survived.
I've been waiting for seems like forever for Finn's story and I wasn't disappointed. Once I started I couldn't put it down until it was done. I love these characters as well as the others in this series they all blend well together and make an amazing family. I would recommend this book and series to anyone that loves paranormal genre or even losing themselves in an amazing story. Loved it and can't wait for more!
Iv been waiting for finns book for ages and it didn't disappoint.
Finn has had his fair share of shit through out his life and having flash backs of all them terrible memories are making it so much harder to live with. he isn't the same man from the start of the books, being more damaged and filled with guilt he's a bit of a ass to everyone until Laura.
Laura, Logan's sister hasn't had the best of times herself being kidnapped and kept in a breeding lab and induring hell from her parents only to feel abandoned by her brother who until recently she hasn't herd from its safe to say she's pretty broken too and to top it off she sees her mate die before she had a chance to love him. Or so she thinks.....
I'm a sucker for broken damaged characters, these two had there flaws but together they were perfect, the chemistry was unbelievably hot and they balanced eachother out very well. I also liked the fact that there is more story to this one, don't get me wrong I love the sex and Lacey writes it so damn well but this book felt a little different, more substance for me although I love all of them.
With a book full of love, laughter, tears, anger and some miscommunication it will definitely set you on rollercoaster of emotions so get the tissues ready for more that one reason;);)
I cannot wait for Ariel and Daniels book I know for sure that ones going to be a heart breaker.
I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to Lacey Thorn's Awakening Pride series. Finn has gone through so much and he is fighting to find his equilibrium. Laura has lost the one fated to be hers. She cares little for her life until she finds out that she isn't as alone as she thought. Can she convince her mate and his friends that she believed he was truly gone or will she lose her mate again, this time for good? Finn and Laura's journey wasn't easy. Both lived thinking the worst of the other. And when fate handed them another chance could Finn accept that everything isn't as it seems. And Laura has found her family but she may lose the one who means the most to her. I enjoyed the twists that Ms. Thorn gave us in this story. Finn and Laura's journey was in no way easy. Feelings of betrayal thread its way throughout this story. The connections between previous characters were unexpected but fit wonderfully within not only this story but also the overlying story arc. Ms. Thorn does a wonderful job of showing us all sides of the equation even as to moves Finn and Laura toward their happily ever after. I can't wait to see where Ms. Thorn will take us next in this series.
I love Lacey Thorn's Awakening Pride series more and more with every book I read and Unleashing the Beast surely proved that. I love and adore all the characters this author has created in this series and always look forward to reading their story. Finn has been through so much with being captured, tortured and thinking his mate left him as he was dying. Laura also suffered her own pain and heartbreak and you couldn't help but feel for both of them. I enjoy the raw passion the mates find with one another and the sex scenes are so hot that I'm surprised I don't self-combust. The friendship, tight bond and sense of family among the pride is beautiful to see. I cannot wait to see what's ahead for them in the coming year.
I admit it, I have fallen in love with Finn through his journey to his mate and his HEA. When he first makes an appearance, he’s brash with a chip on his shoulder, then he plays the hard nosed protector, ends up taking one for the team and, in this book, finally comes into his own. To say he has had a hard journey, is putting it mildly. No wonder Laura is his mate. Her journey has been just as difficult and something she continues to struggle with. The author created the perfect pairing and a HEA they both deserved. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I absolutely LOVE this whole series! Finn & Laura were a great addition.
Lots of twists and turns in this one, which were highly entertaining. You find out more about several characters and their relationships to each other, as well as hints of who might be next in line!
There's so many characters now that it's hard to revisit them all in each story, but many are included here and it's great to catch up with them!
I definitely recommend this book, along with the first 6 books in the Awakening Pride series!
Finn doesn't know if he is dreaming or having memories of being tortured and of the woman who would have loved him and walked away. Laura has been on a sucide mission every since she found her mate only to watch him die,or did he?.Until Finn's Beast Is Unleashed do they find each other and figure out what happened. Another great addition to the Pride series, smoking hot sex,hot alpha male, strong mate.If you enjoy paranormal get this series and Unleash your Beast.
Out of the entire series i admit i loved them all this one i wasnt so keen on i'm not sure why i didnt click with the characters as much as the others the book was just as good i think i found the murphy bit a little strange but i'm sure the author with have more answers and to be honest i think my main upset was i knew when i finished thish one i have to wait for the next release which drives me nuts lol. Very good book though and a fantastic series.
Revisiting Tah and Abby...seeing Finn's story and what really happened to him finally! And what a surprise who his mate is! Plenty of mystery and plenty of secrets to discover yet! As always..looking forward to the next book ok course! Think I will go read book 1 again. Just because I do love Tah, Logan and Reno so much.
Book 7 in a fantastic series. Finn and Laura 's story is a tear jerker, you will definitely need a box of tissues while reading this book. The sex seance are hot and heavy enough you want to sit in front of a fan. The one thing that every book in this series has is a sense of family and that blood doesn't have anything to do with it. Absolutely loved this book! ❤
I'm finishing this series here. I was hoping up next would be Murphy or Daniel but even then I was kinda feeling a bit 'whatever' about what could happen to them. I looked at the rest and I'm not really interested.
This was good for a quick read, but by this point each story felt pretty much exactly the same to me and I wanted some more confrontation with the Blanes and for us to meet like the leader of the hunters or something and a badass battle to happen but with the length of these nothing really happens. All the 'action'/bad stuff/drama in this happens before this book and has already been talked about (her past/his past traumas etc) in fact I didn't really feel the drama besides when Daniels 'mate' (sorry forgot her name already) flipped her lid at Laura. I also thought how everyone basically kept telling her to move on or get over her trauma was fucking disgusting. There are less harsh ways to get through to someone, and that WASN'T it.
You can NOT read this as standalone... or you "can", but then you don't understand half the book, but it seems to have million storylines and they ALWAYS talk about the past and i did not understand half of it
Gosh I wanted this book to be soooo good. It was just ok. I got bored about half way through but I'm not a quitter so I kept up to good fight and finished. I don't know if I'll be reading the next book, the 1st was hands down the best. And Zane's book was great too. Those are the only two that lasting impressions out of the 7 books o_O
I love this series. The world the author created is wonderful and exciting and gets better and better. However, this story seemed almost the same as the last in the romance department. The storyline was different as usual which us great but the love scenes seemed a tad redundant. Still a fabulous read.
What happened to this series? This book was a real disappointment. This book is so different than the first few in the series. With each book, we seem to get more story and developing plots and less of the insane mating lust and "Mine" from the alphas.
