Freed from the bonds of royalty forever, Lily must adjust to life in the treacherous city of Temple. With the handsome prince Ephrem by her side, she inadvertently stumbles upon a third cell of supernatural shifters lurking in the city’s Outlands, but they aren’t part of any wolf pack she’s ever known. Tensions mount when these new strangers impede on the two royal strongholds and reignite a long-forgotten feud from decades past.

This series must be read in order. The first book is Ardent. Wolf Romp may be read anytime after Ardent. This is the second book. I can't wait to read Enmity to discover the next new twist in this amazing series!

***This series is suitable for adult readers who like a little twisted prophecy in their modern paranormal fantasy with a dash of romance and loads of intrigue, suspense &mysteries around every corner :)
Wow! I don't even know where to start!! Alexia Purdy is one of those authors that you just buy the book because you know it will be great. Marktier is the second book in the Arcknight Chronicles and it was amazing!! I cried when Lily, consumed by homesickness contemplated her life after being banished and without giving away spoilers I cried for her sister Queen Rafaela during her struggles with her mate Gil. The love that Lily and Ephram have is so sweet and strong and the growing love story of Queen Rafaela makes the book just that much better. I was also very touched by the tender scene between Lily and her mother. I could go on forever about everything I loved about this book. The only thing I didn't like is that it had to end
I have found a new favorite series to delve into! This was absolutely captivating! I read book 1 & 2 back to back in a single sitting, & can not wait to get my hands on book 3. This is no ordinary shifter tale. Purdy has transported us to a kingdom where destinies attempt to defy the odds & those who reign are but pawns in this world we do yet fully understand. Every page gave us a tiny glimpse more, every chapter offered more depth in true Purdy style. The addition of the ancient gargoyle shifter pack brought even more intrigue. Will Ephrem find Lilliana in time? Will the ArcKnight & MarkTier packs be able to set aside their differences & work together to save Temple? I must know!! http://jenisbookshelf.blogspot.com/20...
This series must be read in order. The first book is Ardent, this is the second book.
Forever banished from her home, Princess Lillianna finds solace in the arms and home of her betrothed, Ephrem, in the Outlands of Temple city. Just as she starts adjusting to the changes, her life is turned upside down by the arrival of a strange shifter from a banished pack thought to have died out. But what does he want with her, and why does he feel so familiar? This book is filled with even more twists and turns than the first and always kept me guessing! I can't wait to read more from this series!
this series does need to be read in order for complete understanding. in book 2 we follow Lily and her mate on the most amazing journey. this book has so much action and suspense in it that your head is spinning. I have to say I enjoyed the flashbacks of the past mixed in with the present and the dream of the future. if you are a fan of wolves, gargoyles and the wonderfully unknown this book is for you. I have to say my only complaint is the length of the book you are pulled in from literally the first chapter and it's over in the blink of an eye. I cannot wait for more of this series! I am so curious to see if a war is pending or if somehow it's going to be worked out peacefully.
Alexia Purdy ups the intrigue and action going into this second book of the ArcKnight Chronicles. Starting with a little taste of what Ephram went through to pay off his brother’s debt, I was swept away from the first page! I was gob smacked when I learned of Lily’s true heritage and I reverently rooted for Raphaela to get some well-deserved revenge! I love the unique background of these shifters and this world they live in. I highly recommend this book to those who love paranormal characters, excellent writing, and thrilling adventures.
Well she done it again. Miss Purdy knows how to suck you in and take you on a ride. This book was no exception. We fell in love with these characters in book one, Ardent, and their lives just got crazier. It was intense and mysterious and vengeful. I was hooked immediately and not a moment of disappoinment. Can not wait to see how their stories keep unfolding in the next book.
Another gripping book by Alexia. The story continues with more in site into the world of ArcKinght and MarkTeir packs. More adventure packed in when the KalHan pack joins the story. I need the third book.
I love these books. Lily is banished but is still with Ephrem. She still feels she needs to work through her issues on her own. While she is doing that, her sister is having problems all her own. Her husband is a conniving jerk and she is just the one to put him in his place. Lily accidentally finds a new pack, but maybe they are ones she was meant to find all along? Still like these characters. Ephrem is still solid and giving. He will do anything for Lily, including giving her the space she asks for. He is going to protect his pack and her (former) pack with his life if it comes down to it. Lily is somewhat lost and doesn't realize how central of a character she is to become. Her sister's issues shocked me and I was rooting for her and think she is a kick butt female! It is a 5/5 for me. Read #1 first but you will love these books.
*I was provided complimentary copies in exchange for my honest review.
We pick up in book two just after book one has ended. We see Lily and Ephrem trying to make their way in life, along comes something.... different. This is new and neither of them have ever seen it. We read more about the "old feud" that no one knew about and see how they both have to learn to manage and deal with that all on top of just being forbidden to be who they are. It's hard to imagine dealing with all of that and making it believable, but Alexia does it! We learn more about Lily's family. We see more of her sister and the trials that she is also facing as well. An excellent addition to the new story. Suggested for mature readers, and be ready for a wild ride! ~Dowie
This second book follows Lily further as she is approached by someone unknown, and then slowly begins to transform into something she had no idea she was a part of. As the story goes on, she unravels her true identity, and true destiny. Ephram is still by her side, struggling to get backing from the pack against their new visitors, though I see them wanting different outcomes before too long. Her sister, Rafaela, is humiliated and decides to fight for what she wants and deserves, with a new man by her side who's willing to help her achieve what she needs and truly love her.
Still banished from the ArcKnight palace, Lily must discover who she is not as a royal. With her fiancé Ephrem by her side, can the two of them make it with the new threats emerging? The KelHans, a pack that had been banished by the MarkTier's centuries ago are back. And they are here for vengeance. Lily is learning more about her heritage while living in the outlands. But will this new information endanger both her and Ephrem's family? Another great book, can't wait to read the next one to find out what happens next!
A continuation of the book Ardent. It picks up right where the first book ends. Lily and Ephrem are learning to adjust after being banished from their packs. As different as life as head become, a secret from Lily's past that even she was unaware of comes back to throw their life in the air again. This is a well written book with a really good storyline. Can't wait to read the next book in the series and see how things turn out. I personally am hoping for a "happily ever after" for everyone after all they've already been through.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review and boy am I glad to receive this one. Alexia has a way with weaving a story and just taking you for a ride. This series gets better and better and you can't help but turn the page and try to keep up. Much easier flow than the first book and the characters just explode from the page. Well done. Can't wait to see where she takes us in the next book!
Lilly is finally free to move forward with her life after being banished from her home and the only family she's known. With the help of Ephrem, Lilly begins to live a normal life or at least as normal as it can be when you are an ex royal wolf shifter. As things start to look up for Lilly and Ephrem, Lilly meets a dark stranger from a forgotten wolf pack who is bent on revenge. In a book where no one is no longer who they seem, Lilly must decide who she can trust and protect those she loves.
Lily's life took an unexpected turn when she was banished from the ArcKnight palace. For a moment, she thought she'd have to fend for herself. Until she met her beloved Ephrem. It's then her entire life changed.
From the moment I began reading this series, I was hooked. Alexia has a way with words that always leaves the reader wanting to read more. MarkTier picks up where the first book ends, diving smack-dab into the plights that surround Lily and Ephrem. The two of them are still getting to know one another, unable to fight off the attraction that exists between them.
The second books delves into the secrets that surround the MarkTier pack. We get to see Ephrem step up to the plate more and more, while also trying to protect what's his. I love the fact that Alexia has also introduced a new pack of shifters. Their existence threatens the fragile balance that remains between both of the current packs.
She's deepened the existing lore she created for her characters, and given the reader more reasons to continue with the series. I can't wait to see what happens next for Lily and Ephrem. Perhaps someday they'll be able to find their happily ever after. We can hope, right?
As with Ardent, MarkTier is a decent enough story, but the author again had a glaring error in this book. This book was supposed to pick up where Ardent left off, however it starts with Ephram still working off his debt to the Pit master, when in Ardent Lily asked Ephram how long it took him to complete the number of fights to be free of his debt (Ephram said it took 5 years), but here he is supposedly still a few fights away from his freedom. Meanwhile still holding out hope that he will meet his betrothed again. Then proof, the next chapter picks up where Ardent left off. The whole first chapter just shouldn't be there.
Then the character Alec, in one chapter, is said to be the leader of the MarkTier military, when in fact he is the leader of the ArcKnight military.
I was also disappointed in a missed opportunity, on the part of Ms. Purdy, when I read the outcome of the Alpha challenge, without having the actual challenge being told.
I hope the third book in the series is free of these kinds of errors and missed opportunities.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
After both parties being banished officially even thou solving a soon to be killing rampage to power, things will turn a bit more incredible on all endings. Lilliana, or Lily, will find out her origins; might not turn to be a pretty thing. Her relationship with Ephrem will certainly be thrown on a loop at some point. But you do wonder if the new uncovered truth will do some damage to this relationship. On another end, this threat might unite both packs; and it's all about girl power with this book, I think.
The series is getting better; I like how there are many perspectives and story lines to follow. Still personally would like to see more details so information seemed fleshed out instead of confusing. Regardless, pleased thus far.
