Meet Allison Singleton, Single, alone. Her husband had left her after years of marriage, and she is destined to be alone for the rest of her life. At 35, she is afraid to hop back into the dating scene, as she knows there aren’t too many options at her age. She has labeled men her age into two categories: Taken, being the first. Everything left over, being the second. The second group is, the men who are so dreadful no woman has snagged them up yet. This is her dating pool. That is until she meets the hot lawyer, Gavin McDermott, on a blind date. Who may just be what she is looking for. He offers her a job she never expects, and she accepts to try new things. It is here she discovers, herself, how to be happy and maybe love. But, after tragedy strikes will everything be as it seems? Will the happiness she is searching for be a ploy?
Ella Emerson lives in Florida with her husband and three wonderful children. When she isn't writing you can find her watching movies or playing games with her children. She loves to read, write and eat pizza. A true lover of the beach, she enjoys the sun, surf, sand and sea. She also is a huge fan of the cinema and enjoys crazy 80's chick flicks. She was raised a military brat, and has seen her fair share of the world. She loves using her own experiences and turning them into lovely romantic tales. In high school she discovered her love for reading, and even had one of her poems published in a national magazine. She continues to read, write, review and hopefully she can become an inspiration to her own children, as well as others.
Do you know when you first open a book and start reading and get interrupted so many times but your mad because you just want to read this already? Thats how this book started and can I just say Ella Emerson is AMAZING!I think we need more then 5 stars for this one! I just clicked with this book and it took me over! I fell fast and hard for Luke Sky Watcher. Allison and I have so many similarities its spooky how well Ella writes about her! Now let me say I read A LOT of books, but this one BY FAR has jumped to number one for me! Now when I was getting down to 90% or more on my kindle I was thinking this isnt gonna end the way I want it too......then CLIFFHANGER! Which for me is fine! I just will have a blast writing the date on my calender for her next book, impatiently stalker her pages for teasers and telling EVERYONE who will listen to get this book! Thank you Ella Emerson for opening something in me that has been closed for so long! Loved every second of this book and cant wait for part two of Al and Luke Sky Watchers story!

This is such a great book. A 35 year old divorced woman trying to discover herself and find love too. It is sweet and a little bit sad. It is the first book in the series and I can not wait for the next one.
The characters in this book are very easy to connect with and the storyline is easy to follow. It is fast paced and flows smoothly. It will draw emotion from you at appropriate times and it will get you a little hit and bothered quite a bit. I immediately felt the connection between Allison and Luke from their very first meet. I could kind of see where the plot of the story was going but it still felt like a sucker punch none the less. I was hoping that I was wrong. I did not see a certain part coming but for the series to continue as it is something big had to happen.
I will be impatiently waiting for the next one in the series.
I don't know where my review went for this book. I read this book in a day, and immediately messaged Ella for the next installment. This was the first book by Ella, and it gives readers an look at the stories to come. Keep an eye out for Ella's next books, because they are going to be epic.

I adored this book. The ending of Sky Watcher had me on the edge of my seat. The emotional roller coaster that Ella puts you through is both exciting and heart stopping. I had been not so patiently waiting for Sky Watcher 2 to come out. I ended up reading it in one setting. I loved the friction between the two main characters. The story starts you off right where the first one ended. You are immediately pulled back into the story. I adored this book, and I can not wait to see what Ella has in store next.
Loved it. This was a refreshingly good read that had me drawn in from the beginning. The characters were great. I was smiling at Allison's personal thoughts. The love story was amazing, and I CAN'T wait for book 2. Definitely a must read for anyone who has had to start over in life!!!

Great Ending, amazing story and I am so glad I read this. Ella does a great job, and she really ended this story out well. A must read.
35 year old Allison Singleton is recently divorced and unemployed. She has moved away from her married life and back to where her sister lives. She’s trying the dating thing, but it just hasn’t been going well. Unfortunately at her age she can’t be too picky. Her sister sets her up on a hot date with Gavin McDermott who is a hunk of a man that works with her sister’s husband at a law firm. Gavin actually ends up offering her a job that will ultimately change her love life. Will her life get worse, or will she find the love of her life?
I give this book 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Ugh! I can’t give too much detail or it will give the story away. This is a pretty short book and it is just the first book in the series. So, I will say that I loved the story. I picked it up to start reading it, and I didn’t put it down until I was finished. It was definitely different. I loved the fact that the leading lady was a little bit older and not some 23-year-old airhead. This woman has already lived half of her life and is now looking to start fresh. And boy oh boy does it get fresh! The two brothers’ story seems like a typical case between brothers. It’s basically a pissing match. I definitely didn’t care for Gavin when Allison started her new job. The last few pages had me thinking I was wrong about both of the brothers. I’m sad that I have to wait to read the next book to find out what happens, but it will totally be worth the wait. I am definitely a fan of Ella Emerson now. I’m going to be looking for her books in the future. Especially book two in this series.
I LOVED this book!! Any book that has me throwing my phone and cussing at fictional characters is a testament to great writing. And when it ends with the perfect HEA that I had only dreamed and hoped of occurring, it only makes it better.
Allison is divorced and has a sad outlook on the hopes of ever finding love again at the age of 35. When she's set up with a handsome successful man her age named Gavin, things start looking up. He offers her a job on a chicken farm to help out his widowed mother and it seems like the perfect opportunity for a change and some time to be alone. Plus maybe the hopes of something more with Gavin. What she hadn't expected was Gavin's much younger brother, Luke, taking her breath away at first sight. He's everything that Gavin is not, and he's trouble of the sort that promises a broken heart if she were to ever give in to the feelings he arouses in her.
What follows is enough angst and heartache to last a lifetime as both brothers try to gain her heart and she has feelings for them both. The feelings for each are different, and she has to choose whether to follow her brain and make the smart choice or follow her heart and jump into an unknown but passionate future. But making that choice doesn't guarantee that her chosen one will choose her back in the end. After heart breaking secrets of a sibling rivalry end up hurting everyone she's back to thinking that love just isn't something she is meant for anymore. She let her heart lay open one too many times and it was stomped on without any regrets by the men she gave it to.
I won't tell what happens, but Allison does find her true love and even I was able to forgive some horrendous actions done against her. The future she has in front of her now was worth the pain and loneliness she experienced on the road to get there.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I adore this book. I guess I'll start there. Sky Watcher is a quick, light-hearted read that tugs on a few heart strings along the way.
Allison is rebuilding her life and learning what she wants for herself when she meets Gavin. Gavin is "ideal", but not the person who makes her soul sing. Oh no. That job is reserved for someone else but the road to him is anything but easy. It is, however, a lot of fun to read about.
There are a few issues with the book. The dialogue is slightly awkward in spots but it doesn't last long. It is narrated in first person present but the pace is quick and the narration is easy so I didn't mind it much. The love scenes feel a little unnatural but I can forgive it because the rest of the story is so compelling.
Be warned, this is part one of a series so don't expect your desire for a happy ending to be met just yet. I'm foaming at the mouth for the next book - Stars in his Eyes.
Love beneath the Stars!!! Allison is 35, divorced from a marriage that lacked real love or any real passion, and she is not sure what she needs to do now or how to move forward with her life. She goes on one date with handsome rich Gavin, who tells her about his mother's farm. He hires her to work there. It is a beautiful Alabama country home and Allison is thrilled. The peaceful environment is just what she needs. Then she meets the younger brother, Luke and everything changes. Luke is sweet, sexy, and sincere. He is exactly the kind of man who can steal Allison's heart.
I really enjoyed this book. Ella Emerson has a mature writing style that is easy to read. Her words make visualizing the story and the people easy. I really felt for Allison. I hoped everything she found with Luke would make her happy. The end is a surprising twist that made me wish the second book was already written!! I hope Ms. Emerson will give us the next installment in this story soon.
I absolutely loved this book. It has you hooked from the first page. If you like books with more story than sex scene (but a bit a smut) then you will love this. The only downer for me is that it is in two parts!! Ella is definitely now a favourite author for me xxx

I couldn't wait for the second Sky Watcher book to be released and I wasn't disappointed. The story continues with Alison and Luke trying to work along side each other for the sake of the farm. There are many obstacles to overcome in regards to how they truly feel for each other.
Will Alison forgive Luke and give him a second chance or will Gavin turn out to be the brother to mend her broken heart.
This really is a beautiful story of love, betrayal, lust and two very alpha sexy men. When a book has more story than sex scenes but still makes you feel the passion between the characters, then it's a keeper. Sky Watcher will definitely be one of my go back to books.
wow what a lovely little read, This sexy romance novella was nice and easy to read and to follow, from secrets to firework to hot (tasteful) sex scenes what else could u want from a book,I engaged with the character's quite quickly and, could easily imagine scenes has ella has described in great detail , as a 34 yr old female myself I found the story very fitting, loving the love triangle going on, love and lust, I don't like giving spoilers away so I wont, I think ella has put her heart and soul into this book, its a great little romance with a big cliff-hanger that makes you want to read the next book, well done ella a 5 star from me xx
This series intrigues me! This novella is the introduction of Allison, Luke, and Gavin. It feels almost like the start of a love triangle. Allison has a blind date with Gavin who is her age, but there isn't the spark of chemistry for her. Gavin helps her secure a job at his family egg farm where she meets and works directly with Gavin's younger brother, Luke. Chemistry. Fireworks. But Luke harbors a big secret that ultimately rips them apart. This novella ends with a cliffhanger and prepares you for book 1. I can't wait to find out more about Allison & Luke! A very intriguing, dramatic, and sexy little book for debut author, Ella Emerson!
Page turner! Could not stop until I finished. I fell in love with Allison and wanted her to be as happy as she did. The author gives you such a close sense of each person, that I felt towards them as she wanted me to. Cannot wait for the next book!

This book did not disappoint. Romance on a beautiful farm with healing from loss and growth from love. Understanding and learning to love all the characters happen in this second book of the series. Fall in love with Luke and Allison all over again.
After reading the synopsis of this book, I thought to myself, great another rich guy gives a girl a job as his special assistant. Boy was I wrong! This book is so much more than that, and that was not the job she was given.
The book follows the story of Allison as she is putting her life back together after her divorce. I immediately liked her character for her boldness and the fact that she wasn't another twenty something who didn't know herself. Her sister sets her up on a blind date where she meets Gavin. He is everything she should want, successful, handsome and smart. When he offers her a job helping his mother out on her farm.
She agrees and when she arrives at the farm, meets Luke, Gavin's much younger brother. Oh my, sweet, sexy Luke. He is everything she shouldn't want but can't resist. She finds herself instantly attracted to him but doesn't want to stir the pot because of her new job, his age and Gavin. However, the more time they spend together, the more Luke grows on her. They finally give into their attraction and whew...it was hot!
There is something about Gavin the rubbed me the wrong way but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. That was until I got to read his interactions with Luke. I enjoyed that we got to see the sibling rivalry between the brothers. I knew there was something deeper going on between the two of them but I didn't really know what the story was going to be.
Just as Allison is ready to go all in, Gavin finds out and goes off. Before either of the guys can explain anything, tragedy strikes. Feeling more lost than ever, she leaves the farm. After some time, and not hearing from either of the guys, she receives a call from Gavin. Apparently there is something for her at the farm. And that is where the story ends!
Overall, this book was intriguing, well paced and gave me characters that I cared about. The novella packed quite a punch. I absolutely can not wait until the next book. I have no know what happens with Allison, Luke and Gavin!

After the way the first book ended, I was very anxious for the release of this book. And I really wanted to like it but there was just something missing for me.
Sky Watcher 2 picks up about where the first one ended. Allison is heart broken after Maggie's death and the everything that happened between Luke and Gavin. When she is asked to return to the farm, she finds a peace that she can't quite describe. She promises to help the guys figure out what to do with the farm. As time passes, she realizes that her feels for Luke weren't a fluke and she really does love him. But she can't get over him being younger and not wanting to settle down.
Allison irritated me for most of the book- she was so certain that she knew what was best for everyone without listening or asking. Luke, however, really grew in this book. He was dedicated, determined and devoted in a way that showed how much his mothers death affected him.
While the story is complete and all the questions and problems are solved, I really wanted more. I wanted to see the show down between Gavin and Luke, not just hear that it had happened. I wanted to see Luke fight for Allison with Richard and conversely see Allison fight for Luke against Sabrina. That being said, the book is well written and flows seamlessly and I do look forward to seeing what Ella Emerson will come up with next. Comment
A good novella that leaves you wanting the next book. Fast paced and an easy read that's both lighthearted and sad in parts. While Gavin and Luke obviously have brotherly rivalry issues I don't exactly agree with others that Gavin's an ass. Being this book didn't go into detail on their problems I'm reserving judgment. I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to read the second part. Allison and Luke's story is sweet and I loved how they connected under the stars. I'm a big star gazer so I completely understand the intimacy and and connection it brings for them. That being said I do think Allison was a bit ungrateful and immature. Gavin is really great to her and even finds her a job. The least she could've done was give him the benefit of a doubt instead of taking Luke's (who she doesn't know and who won't explain why) word that Gavin wasn't good enough for her. And she should've been honest with Gavin instead of dating him when he came in and then running around with Luke. It was also a bit naive that she didn't pick up on being used. But that must just be me because no one else seemed to see it coming either...

This was a good follow up on part one. I loved that Allison showed more maturity in this book. I was proud when she wouldn't just jump right back in with Luke's plans! Gotta make him work for it! Was great that she was willing to help and put herself in a hard situation, can't say I'd do the same. The reconnecting and friendship was sweet and made their relationship so much stronger. Gavin once again appears the @$$ at the beginning but was happy with the ending. Would have liked Luke and Gavin's reunion to be included. Always wanted to know why everything came about.
I loved this book! Allison is 35 and finds herself having to start over in life after her divorce. As a 36 year old, I could completely relate to everything Allison was feeling and thinking. Reading about her inner struggle with how she feels about Gavin (who is her age and someone she "should" fall for) and how she feels for Gavin's much younger brother, Luke. Luke is 25, and even though Allison keeps reminding herself that he is too young for her, she keeps finding herself drawn to him in a way she's never felt before. Not even toward her ex-husband.
The book is written in such a way that you, as a reader, totally FEEL Allison's feelings and worries. You also get the feeling that Luke just might be the better match for Allison.
We get a curveball at the end, and thankfully it's not too much of a cliffhanger, because I have book 2 ready to read. I enjoyed this read and am starting book 2 right now.

I was so anxious to start this book. The way the first book left off, I had to dive right in.
This one starts off right where book one left us. Allison is hurt and confused. So much has happened...it's easy to empathize with her hiding out at her sister's house.
While there are a few moments of wanting to grab her and shake her..it's totally easy to relate to her skepticism and wariness.
It's awesome to see Luke grow in this book and to also see Gavin be brought to his senses. In an unlikely twist, Allison's ex-husband is brought back into the story, not in a way to create drama or cheapen the story, but in a way that almost brings it full-circle.
I enjoyed this book, it's a sweet story of love and growth. I look forward to reading more by Ella in the future.
An amazing debut book by Ella! Lost within herself after a divorce and living with her sister , Allison goes on a blind date with Gavin. After talking with Gavin she gets offered a job at his family's chicken farm. Not sure what direction her life is going she accepts the job. She moves away to the chicken farm where Gavin's mom , Maggie and little brother , Luke live. She quickly feels sparks for Luke who is 10 years younger. Feeling he's too young and having Gavin who visits on weekends she keeps her feelings at bay. Will she following her feelings and open up to Luke? Will she settle for Gavin? I won't tell you which other than the brother that she is meant to be with is completely swoon worthy! I loved the story. I felt that it was well written and had characters that you will fall in love with. It's a quick and easy read. I can not wait for book 2! Congratulations on your debut book Ella! You have a bright and promising career ahead of you!

I couldn't wait for this book to see where Allison and Luke's story would take us. Ella did not disappoint! I loved it! Such a sweet story about forgiving the past and opening your heart up to love. I cried and this story really warmed my heart. You so root for this couple to have the HEA that they deserve. Luke the lost man dealing with the betrayal of his brother, loss of his mother and the loss of his true love Allison. Allison dealing with her own broken heart and hurt by Luke. The two of them are just want they need to heal their hearts and move forward together as one. I'm going to miss this couple as I absolutely adore them both. Thank you Ella for giving us such a beautiful story!
This is a mild erotic romance, that follows the cliched and well trodden paths of romance books. There is nothing that is unexpected, no plot twists, or surprises. With the only difference being that the book ends before the story is finished. It is a short read of about an hour and a half. The characters are not well developed and come across as flat an unrealistic. The grammar, punctuation, spelling, and writing style all need work. The prose tends toward the passive, as well as repeating the same words over and over again, where a reference to a Thesaurus would have been invaluable in providing some variety. The are a number of plot inconsistencies: For example, in one sentence the characters are "sitting" side by side, and in the very next line the MC states "I could lie here forever". No transition was given. Later on, the main character is convinced she hasn't led a certain character on at all, but she has failed over and over to say no, or give any indication she is not interested, and has done what he has asked without a murmur of protest. How would he know she isn't interested then? Is he supposed to mind read? She seems well able to say no to the man she is attracted to though. She also appears to be incredibly naive and dumb. Filter words and delaying the action with "began to/ started to" are overused so much that they interrupt the flow of the read in a big way. Time and again, the wrong punctuation was used between dialogue and "beats" or "tags". There is an abundance of telling instead of showing. This book needs a thorough edit and proofread.
I absolutely LOVED this book! This story is an roller coaster of emotions. There were parts in the book where I just wanted to scream at Allison to kiss him and to tell him how she really feels! Allison is just coming out of divorce and doesn't know if she will find her happiness again. That is until she goes on a date with Gavin, who is a lawyer. By the end of the date, he has offered her a job at his family's farm and she accepts hoping she can change the direction of her life. Maggie, Gavin's mother, welcomes Allison into her home and explains that she will be rooming right next door to her youngest son, Luke. What she didn't expect to find is that the baby of the family is extremely gorgeous and she can't help the pull that she is feeling to him. When they shared a kiss, she can't help but push him away because of his age.
Will she be able to keep her distance from Luke and try dating Gavin? Will Luke be able to respect Allison's attempt to date his older brother that he does not get along with?
I love finding new authors. Ella's book Sky Watcher took me on a ride that made my heart so full and happy and then bam cracked and wondering what in the heck happened!
"After a while we sit motionless, listening to each other breathe as the silence fills the room. It is not awkward, but refreshing. It comforts me, knowing I could lie here forever." Aww how could you not fall in love with this this sentence.
"Having never felt anything so spellbinding". I love that the feelings are so descriptive, I could feel how Allison felt. Great short read and I'm anxious to dive into book 2!

Wow! Once I finished book 1 I had to immediately start this one! It was a fast read that I couldn't put down. I loved the characters and the emotions they brought out in me...I laughed, I cried, my heart was filled with warmth. Beautiful conclusion to a beautiful 2 book novella series! I cannot wait to read what Ella comes out with next
Many of us under the struggle of having to start over. After being in a loveless marriage, Allison finds herself divorced and starting over. While staying with her sister, her sister Amy finds the need to play match maker. After being set up with Gavin things may actually change for the better. She is offered a job at his family's farm. She thinks it is just the thing to find herself and finally be happy. Luke is Gavin's younger brother. As he runs the farm he gets to know Allison. They are both very stubborn individuals. Will they find happiness together? The book is well written, smooth flowing and easy to read. I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to the continuation of the story. I was able to relate to Allison. The characters, their emotions and the experiences they went though were well depicted. The imagery was great and I could picture every scene as if it were happening all around me.
Sky Watcher is a really pleasant love story. This was a really easy read and I bought into Allison's situation quite quickly. I can understand her dilemma. Luke sounds hot and Gavin appears to be a bit shallow. However, this works well so that the reader is cheering on Allison and Luke as a couple right from the start.
Whilst the plot is a little predictable at times, this is a really nice book to read. Emerson harnesses the importance of family, and that age is only a number. As Luke says "Age is like mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter."
The characters are likeable, even Gavin, even though he is a bit self-centred, and Emerson keeps you invested in the plot so that you want everything to work out for all the main players. Sky Watcher is a great book for reading on the beach or if you'd just like to cosy up on the sofa with hot chocolate and a nice, romantic read.
At 35, divorced and now set up on the umpteenth blind date, Allison meets Gavin. Gavin catches her interest enough not to use the "I have an emergency" call and need to leave. After getting her call, Gavin surprises her by offering her a job to help out his mom and little brother at the family farm. Not what she was expecting, but thinking this could be a way to have a fresh start from her current life. Moving to the farm proves to have more surprises than she would have thought to expect. Luke is the not the kid the Gavin made him sound like and she finds that there are sparks between her and Luke. Torn with pull towards Luke and Gavin who is the logical choices, she also finds she is in the middle of the two brothers hate towards each other. Will she be able to heal the brothers broken relationship? Will she find what she is looking for with her fresh start or will there be more drama than she is willing to deal with?
I really enjoyed reading this book. Allison is struggling to find her way after a divorce and finds herself falling for a man much younger then she is. Allison fights her attraction to Luke because he is younger and the bother of the man her sister is trying to set her up with. Just as she allows herself to fall she finds out Luke is trying to get back at his brother for something he did years ago.
This book started put a little slow but definitely picked up and made me anxious to find out if Allison and Luke will be together. They have some hot chemistry and intense emotions. Something happens to Luke's mother and ends leaving you wondering what will happen next. I love cliffhangers allowing you to see more about the couple and their struggles in the next book.
I can't wait to read the next book to see how Allison and Luke deal with the next step in their life.
Sky Watcher is my first book by Ella Emerson, and I really enjoyed it.
Allison is starting over at 35 after her husband leaves. She's afraid to jump back into the dating scene at her age. When she's set up on a blind date with an hot attorney Gavin McDermott, she wonders if he's what she's looking for. He ends up offering her a job helping his mother out, so she decides to move to his mother's chicken farm. Will Allison find herself, and maybe love?
I loved this book so much, I devoured it in one sitting. The characters are easy to connect and fall in love with. Her storyline flows smoothly and easy to follow. Ella Emerson does a great job pulling out my emotions through out, and she write some hot chemistry. The big twist was like a throat punch, and delivered great angst. I can't wait for the next book, and I happily recommend this sweet story.
This book is such a CUTE EFFIN' READ! I love the fact that Allison feels like a REAL person. She is hesitant to jump into anything as opposed to just pretending she is recently divorced. Gavin came across as a narcissistic asshat so i am unbelievably happy. My only gripe is the insta-love she and Luke have. It really urks me. Give me super attraction, give me I care more then I should a this point. Give me butterflies and stars whenever they see each other. Just don't give me love THAT quickly. Regardless, of that little mishap, I enjoyed the book and I am looking forward to the nest book. I want to know what happens when she sees the brothers again, what did their mother leave her??
UGH ... when is the next book coming out? I WANT IT NOW!
Allison is a recent divorce (35 years old) who moves to Alabama to live with her sister after. Her sister introduces her to several men (dating rejects) before she meets Gavin, lawyer. Gavin offers her a job at his mothers egg farm. There she meets Luke, Gavins 25 year old brother. Luke (Sky Watcher) has a great room with a skylight where he painted stars. Luke is young, hot and romantic. She tries to be interested in Gavin but she secretly has the hots for Luke who seems to like her back. Who will she choose? The ending will shock you. Great Read, the author has some interesting characters and sibling rivalry going. This book will be part of a series. (Received as an ARC for honest review)
I started reading this, thinking it was going to be the typical love triangle between Luke "Sky Watcher", Allison and Luke's brother, Gavin. The story was so much more and Emerson was great at connecting the characters and building on their relationships, not just with Allison and the McDermott brothers, but the relationship between the brothers, as well as the family backstories for each. It makes you wonder who is perfect for Allison, if either one actually is, and I can't wait for the second book to come out. It can't be soon enough for me.
Recently divorced, Allison has yet to decide what she is looking for as she embarks on next chapter of her life. She re-enters the dating world and starts a new job, second guessing her own motives and feelings along the way, as well as those of the two hot new men in her life. This is a light and an enjoyable romance, with a touch of humor – the kind of book you finish in a single sitting.
Note: The steamier scenes in this romance are explicit and might be considered unsuitable for some audiences.
This book grabbed me from the very start. Allison is a 35 year old divorcee who is trying to settle into her new life. I started the book last night and could not put it down until I finished it a few minutes ago. It's almost 4am. I strongly recommend this book as it is a lovely romance with a storybook ending, something I love reading about. It has family, brothers with issues, it has love, romance, and humour. There is a lot of emotions rolled up into this beautiful story. The writer is amazing and I can not wait to read more of her works. Thank you for a lovely read.
