practical information and exercises for living a life in tune with spirit. i dug it a lot up until i reached the part where he starts in on his personal theory (relating it as fact) that men are naturally more spiritual and positive and inclined towards god than women, and woman naturally more materialistic and negative, sucking men down. i think we have no further to look than the gender of the greatest perpetrators of violence upon mankind to weigh the accuracy of this statement. he kinda lost me as a fan...

This book has incredible insights and practices that all should follow, especially in this increasingly negative time. However, if you are a Christian, be vigilant. There are some contraindicated tips to follow. Keep your focus on the Lord and His word, if that is your true following. This book taught me to research the author, before putting too much stock in what one says.

This book started out fine, kind of the typical spirituality book that I would expect from the 90's. It was a little dull, but I was able to find some lessons and thought provoking passages that I really enjoyed. I definitely journaled some thoughts about the quotes that I enjoyed.

For being in the spirituality genre, this book has some obvious religious content, which I am able to ignore easily by replacing "God" with "The Universe", "Spirit", ect. so it normally doesn't bother me. However, about half way through the book, it just got... weird. It started talking about the left and the right side of the brain or spirituality or something, and the right half was male and the correct side to be closer to "God". The left side was female and was the road to hell.

Now, I am very open minded and can even ignore some politically incorrect statements if the overall message they are trying to convey is generally good, but this was a lot. The references to "God" and "the Lord" and other religious comments became a bit much, and paired with the weird male/female thing, I was done.

I guess I shouldn't expect much more from the book considering when it was written, and who it was written by.

The Spiritual Warrior is a great book by a great master.

John Roger discusses ways to live rewarding inner spiritual lives in a constantly changing world. How do we become warriors to tackle all the challenges we face as humans in this place we call the Earth School?
How do we battle the anxieties that so many of us face daily?

I love this book and I love the message John Roger has to offer.

I could read this book 10 times over and still not get it all.

This book teaches you to understand the world( beginning with your inner world) and lectures you on understanding your emotions and focuses on spiritual work along with divinity. To advance in this world focus and energy spent on your goals are needed to grow over all. Identifying with yourself and nothing else is the key to spiritual growth.

Mish-mash of regurgitated material from spirituality/New Age thinking, written in prose that often reads like word salad. As this was recommended by someone I deeply loved and respected, I, like many others, persevered until, the author started going on about how the feminine, and creativity were on the "negative" side of the spectrum.

If you would like to learn more about the "real" "John-Roger", I would recommend Life 102: What to Do When Your Guru Sues You by Peter McWilliams.
