Lady Larissa Kuttivadapa is a privileged human living on planet Jax-9. At thirty-six years old, she is so bored with her love life that she scopes out potential partners from the clear ceiling of the night club she runs. While she sees plenty of handsome men dancing, she longs for something more.
One of the protectors of planet Jax-9 and an alien refugee from another planet, Vector Ferhan might be just what Larissa needs, but emotionally and physically. But public tensions are high over human and alien mixings. Will Larissa and Vector be able to look past their differences and re-enact The Big Bang?

This was a short, erotic alien/human romance story. I thought the storyline was done well, and the characters were believable, even if Vector was slightly infuriating at times! The world building was good, and the sex scenes were pretty steamy! 7 out of 10
This was a very interesting read. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and although it is not my typical genre I really found myself enjoying it. So much so, that I wish there was more to read about this unlikely (and imaginative) couple. As a first time reader of the sci-fi romance genre I wasn't too sure what to expect, but Olivia Myers does a wonderful job of creating and describing this fantastical world and their inhabitants. I will be looking into more of her books to see what else she has up her sleeve.
The Big Bang Alien Love Affair! 3.7 Starsssssssssssssssssss
This is me after having a good time with a book...
This may not be the greatest book in history. It may not be too deep. Nor is it that complex... But it was short, fun and truly enjoyable. It didn't feel slow, it didn't bore me and it was a very easy-quick paced story for me. First sample I've read from this author and she nailed it. WARNING! For those who: Do not like short stories. Detest jerk badass heros. Sensitive to wierd penises. Appalled by alien lizard people doing humans... Plain weird and just for fun reads. PLEASE MOVE ALONG! BOOK NOT FOR YOU!
My blurb! So... Lady Larissa Kuttivadapa is a privileged human living on planet Jax-9. She comes from a wealthy family, but she works and does her own thing. Has a club of her own on a neutral planet, sort of an alien heaven. She's at a point in her life where she's looking for more than a good time or a handsome stranger and she's really is open about her options. So she logs on to an app, where u can look up guys from anywhere. Looking for the right one... Or someone. Never had she expected she would be attracted to a Resstessian. A lizard alien male named Vector. And she's willing to make the effort to get him!
I just had so much fun reading this, I kind of got over the odd bits and weak plot. The heroine was likable and persistent. The hero was a jerk, but he had his reasons. So I got to give the guy a break in some aspects. He wasn't bad, just reluctant and insecure. So the characters weren't extremely 2d, but there was no serious character development either. The context or world building is direclty related to alien affairs and humans who are against them and disgusted by interspecies relations. I liked that. But the evolution of the story is a little predictable and plain. Still it manages to entertain and make you laugh in its simplicity. All in all, a good quick read. Recommended for the FUN. I bid you farewell and may future reads be fab!

Review
First of all, a thank you to the author for providing the ARC.
When I read the blurb, my thoughts were 'oh, that's sounds interesting'. The Big Bang Alien Love Affair is a short alien/human love story that includes angst, romance, action and mystery.
It all starts with Larissa Kuttivadapa, the owner of a night club on planet Jax-9, where all species (alien and human) are welcome. Here life has become extremely dull and bored, so much that she takes a chance to meet a date through the institution Gallery. That's where she then latter on meets one of the protectors of planet Jax-9 and an alien refugee from another planet, Vector Ferhan.
I have to say that I have mixed feelings about this one. It started out well but then became so fast-paced that at times I had trouble keeping up with the emotions. One minute they fight, have sex and then H 'asks' (tells) h to move in with him. Also, the H could be a real ass when he wanted to.
All in all, this is a great read when you want something short and spicy. :)
Larissa has been looking to add spice to her life for a long time. That’s the reason she opened a night club that caters to both humans and aliens. She’s looking for somebody new, different, interesting… Alien. But the beings that come to a nightclub are all the same. Sure they come in all different shapes, sizes, colors, and textures… But they’re still all the type that come to her nightclub. So Larissa goes looking for something else. It’s his voice that attracts her, pulls her out of sleep, but when she looks into his eyes she feels like she can get lost in them forever. He, on the other hand, wants a member of his own spaces. Sure, he’ll fool around with her for a while, but only while he’s in the disguise of a human and only while he’s on leave from work. Once he’s gone, missing him, angry, hurt, and feeling even more alone, Larissa sets out on a dating adventure. But no other alien is as intriguing, no others gaze lights her fires, and no one else’s scales touch her heart the way his did. If only he would give her a chance and stop hiding who he really is. Larissa is sure she could love his real self.
Ok, the beginning was boring and dull and incredibly uninteresting... however, if you hang in there until the last third, the story takes life and is fun, interesting, sexy and HOT.
Now if the story had managed that within the first few pages, I would be far more interested in the characters, their story and reading more.
I will be checking out more of Ms. Myers stories though, as once she gets going she is an amazing writer.
My Rating System: * couldn't finish, ** wouldn't recommend, *** would recommend, **** would read again, ***** have read again.
*Honest review requested* As one that just dabbles in paranormal romance I thought this was a great quick read. For less than 100 pages the author did a fantastic job of immersing the reader into this futuristic society. It was great how 21st century issues were revamped in a 30 or 31st century galaxy. Great description of the 'city'.
I really liked that although this was considered a quick romance the relationship between Vector and Larissa actually took someone to develop. That was very refreshing.
Lastly, kudos to the author for "taking out the trash"! You gotta read the book to understand.
Don't let the title scare you away. Both the stories were on par with my expectations for this length and genre. Both were fun quick reads, perfect for a little escape without the full length book commitment.
She needs a man. She wants someone different, someone exciting. He wants a woman from his own species, definitely not human. Enjoy I did. In the Love and Whiskers bundle.
